FOX SMOOTH BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 21 Judge: Julie Griffiths FOX SMOOTH JUDGE BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 21 First, may I say how poignant it was to have two entries from the late Margaret Clifford, who passed away prior to the Show. Thank you Margaret, and we will miss you. I was perturbed at the lack of correct movement, some being down at the rear, lacking forward motion and some preferring to high step in the front. Please try to correct this in your breeding going forward. Several shoulders were badly placed and some trimming requires tweaking to help make the most of your dogs. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed going over your dogs, of which there was an abundance of quality. Thank you for such a generous entry. JD(2) 1 Brookes, Zetamaz Kiowa Lone Wolf. Eye catching B/W, a little light in bone, would prefer stronger fore face but has a keen expression. Tail on top, moved well, good condition. 2 Rogers, Lunafox Bobby Dazzler. Very much a baby at 9 months, fair amount of bone, preferred movement of 1 as close behind densely coated, nails need trimming to make best of his feet. 1 Brookes Zetamaz Rainbow Crest. Nice quality masculine dog put down in good nick, short back, round bone with good feet. Tail on top, moved OK. 1 Murray, Yarrum Dixie Dash. T/W short backed with good lay of shoulder, a little erratic on the move, needs more drive, ears detract from his expression, maybe try to use them more. Good harsh cost. Nice type. 1 Brookes, Zetamaz Dream Warrier. Well put together dog, a tad light in ear, correct size and short in cast. Knits away in front, but doesn’t help himself or his handler on the move. Good type. 1 Davies, CH Mosvalley Brian May. Have watched this one grow on. Lovely B/W masculine dog, sound fore and aft moving with purpose, correct shoulder placement, great bone and feet, quality head and good ear placement with keen expression, born to work all day. Old fashioned in type neither cloddy nor exaggerated as should be, pleased to award him the CC & BOB from a very nice class. 1 Brookes CH Zetamaz Gerard Depardieu. 7.5 years. Shoulder placement could be better, slightly soft in top line, tidy back end, could be freer in movement, again put down in good condition. 1 Rogers, Lunafox Gentle Touch. Only 7 months, well bodied, ample bone, ears a tad heavy. Moved straight but needs more lead training. 1 Marston’s Chipstead Pearl. 6.5 months. Typical baby, liked this one very much but needs time, hope she will continue to grow on. Movement solid and with drive, should have a bright future. 1 Richardson, Lizoni Hoochie Coochie. Without doubt the best mover of the day, lovely free flowing limbs driving forward, a joy to watch. Larger size bitch but well balanced, strong quarters and good round bone. Very attractive head with well set ears which she uses. Beautiful turnout and skilfully handled, well done BCC, BP and Res BOB. 1 Hannar, Borovale Amber. 12 months. Bitch with plenty of substance, whilst remaining feminine. Has correct feet and well coupled. Well coated, made a nice balanced silhouette, moved OK. 1 Vickers and Dams. Jodean Jitter Bug @ Tamedale. Larger size bitch with strong bone, level top line, well set ears, v good expression with keen dark eye. Over trimmed rear, doesn’t show her back end to its best. Moved well. Res CC. 1 Dams and Vickers. Joedean Symphony @ Tamedale. Heavier marked T/W typical of the type from this kennel. Well developed rear but down on pasterns when moving, top line could be tighter, put down in good condition. 1 Dams, Tamedale Pimpernal. T/W nice dark eye, tidy legs and feet, not the best ears, would prefer better movement. Nice condition. Judge: Julie Griffiths
