FOX SMOOTH JUDGE BLACKPOOL 13

Smooth Fox Terriers

Quality was mixed, but I was more than happy with my principal winners. Some promising youngsters. Pleased to see this wonderful breed now figuring regularly at group level; long overdue.

PD

1 Yoxella Wiki Leaks, quality pup, scores in head & expression, clean front, well off for bone, good forelegs ending in good tight feet, pleasing neck & shoulder, superbly muscled quarters for one so young with well developed second thigh, moved well & with drive. Needs to tighten up. A promising youngster not yet at his best. BPD;

2 Glendraterra Galileo, smart b/w, first class outline, quality dog throughout as one would expect from this kennel, scores in head which is of good length with small dark eye, good forehand, well off for bone & best of feet. Not using his ears & not in the best of jackets. Should do well when he settles into himself. Needs time;

3 Zetamaz Gossip Column.

PGD

1 Dobelands Licence to Thrill, b/w, smart young dog with pleasing outline, good front & feet, enough bone, short backed with no sign of slack, good hindquarters. Would prefer him a little leaner in the cheeks & would like just a bit more of him to complete picture;

2 Migley LLywelyn, t/w young dog who scores in front & bone, clean neck & shoulder. A little too strong in head & heavy in ear, longer cast than 1. Moved well.

OD 1 Am Ch Absolutely Out Of Sight, have watched this one with interest. Upstanding stallion tri dog, one really has to go over this dog to appreciate his virtues. First impressions are those of a very elegant balanced outline achieved by superb reach of neck, well laid back shoulders & ultra short back. Despite my ringside impressions, his head is more than correctly chiseled, he has good depth of foreface which is long & lean, lovely dark eye & neat correctly placed ears giving the desired expression, very clean in front, well ribbed up & short coupled, good set on, in grand form & good hard condition, his front action is precise & he never loses his topline on side gait. Is he too heavily marked? No, I don’t think so. To be critical, I would like him with a shade less hind angulation & with tighter feet. Presentation as expected A1. Pleasure to award him CC & BOB & to see him take G4 later in the day;

2 Dutch/Ger/Cro/Aust Ch Konrad VD Schonenbergen, a new one to me. Another upstanding male with an elegant outline, pleasing head & expression, good eye & ear carriage, long lean neck & correct shoulders, short level back, well muscled up behind, moved well with good drive. I would prefer him less heavily marked. RCC;

3 Ch Lizoni Cadellins Romance.

Nice class.

1 Glendraterra Strikly Samba, this was my star of the day. First impression is that she is completely balanced, quality bitch with substance, scores in head, lovely dark eye of correct shape giving true varminty expression, correctly chiseled out with good depth & strength of foreface yet remains clearly feminine, lovely length of neck into the best of shoulders, well sprung, short level back with plenty behind the tail, great bone & feet which were lacking in the bitches here, well angulated behind to cover plenty of the ground she is supposed to, stands correct when viewed from any angle. Did not give her handler an easy time, but when she gets going she is excellent on the move retaining her outline at all times. I thought her quite lovely & despite her age had no hesitation in awarding her the CC & BP, delighted she went on to top the puppy group under Jill Peak. Will watch with interest;

2 Zandra De La Rosa at Yoxella, all white bitch who is another one to watch. Different type to 1. Lovely head & expression, clean neck & good layback of shoulder, super bone, tail bang on top. Longer cast than 1 & needs to tighten up, has time on her side. Moved well;

3 Zetamaz Talk Of The Town.

JB

1 Zetamaz Talk Of The Town, b/w with pretty head & neat ears giving typical expression, good neck & shoulders, good legs & feet. Longer cast than I would prefer. Moved well. I would just like a bit more of her.

PGB

1 Belfox Lollipop, t/w bitch that presents a lovely overall shape, clean head & good eye. Fraction heavy in ear which detracts slightly from the overall picture. Short level topline & the best of hindquarters. To be critical, I would want her a size smaller.

LB

1 Zetamaz Leather And Lace, scores in head & expression, super neck & shoulder, level topline. Would prefer her shorter to complete the picture. Moved OK;

2 Del Zarzoso Bad Romance, white bitch that did not help her handler. Great body & substance, in hard condition, short backed. Has too much forechest & her front pasterns are not her fortune.

OB

1 Dobelands Hot Totty at Zetamaz, all white bitch who I have admired from the ringside on a number of occasions. Has the head I was looking for all day, perfect balance of neat chiseling & strength, nothing snipey about this one, for varminty expression look at this bitch, perfect pigmentation on an all white, lovely long neck into well placed shoulders, great rib, is shorter than she appears, tail bang on top. To be critical, her topline could be stronger. Sound fore & aft. Unfortunately in the challenge she was not using her ears. RCC, I do hope she hits the top drawer;

2 Dobelands Ice Diva at Saredon, b/w that I have also admired, scores in head & expression, neatest of fronts & feet, good neck & shoulder. Could carry a little more weight to advantage than she did here;

3 Am Ch Absolutely Sinful.
