FOX SMOOTH JUDGE BORDER UNION 23

Many thanks to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge at this wonderful show, one of my favourites for layout, traditional feel and atmosphere. It has lots of space for exhibitors and excellent size rings. I thank the exhibitors for a good entry, that certainly made me think and to keep taking my thoughts back to the breed standard. The dogs performed well on a hot day.

Very little between the first 2 exhibits and I think these will change places many times. Just preferred the overall silhouette and balance of 1 when stacked.

1ST 1936 - Kanix Roger (Mrs K S Wilberg) . Not the biggest of youngsters, but what a shape he cuts when stacked, with nothing overdone or exaggerated. Pleasing through typical head, clean through neck leading into well placed shoulders, nice ribbing, tail on top and plenty behind. Well angled rear. He was clean & tidy on the move. I would love a little more of him and substance to complete the finished picture.

2ND 1916 - Kajsenborg's Hypa Hypa As Fox at Nisyros (Imp Dnk) (Messrs D & I Anderson & Watt). Another whos overall shape and balance is spot on. Good through head, ample neck, good bone, straight front, well ribbed, short back, tail on top, well angled rear. Moved tidily.

3RD 1932 - Tamedale Nemesis (Ms & Mr Vickers & Dams)

RES 1927 - Tamedale Explorer (Mr J & Mrs S Smith)

642. Fox Terrier (Smooth) - Junior Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1ST 1917 - Nisyros Doradus (Mr D & Mr I & Mr H & Mrs H Anderson & Watt & Quigg & Quigg) Correct & typical in head, with strength in foreface. Dark eye, keen expression and ears ok. Clean through neck leading into a correct front assembly. Smart ribs, level topline, tail on top. Ample bone and substance. He was comfortable on the move from all angles.

643. Fox Terrier (Smooth) - Yearling Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1ST 1926 - Chantalle's Ink Blot (Miss D Nichols) A well build and constructed young man, who was unfortunately carrying a little extra substance today, which rather spoilt the overall picture. That said, he was tidy through a typical head, clean neck, well placed front and ample bone. Moved ok.

645. Fox Terrier (Smooth) - Post Graduate Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1ST 1928 - Nisyros Draco by Glendraterra (Mrs J & Mr Jr Thornton & Bebbington) . this young fellar rather let himself down on the move today and just didn't get it together or want to play the game for his handler. It Was a pity has he has some excellent attributes. A head with strength and powerful jaw, dark eye and ears ok. Excellent neck, straight front, well ribbed, tail on top, with some behind. Ok for bone. He should do well if he gets his act together.

1ST 1931 - Tamedale Endeavour (Ms & Mr Vickers & Dams) . This male was larger than I would like, but had many breed points that ticked the box. He had bone and strength , he wasn't coarse. He was balanced and very typical. He stacked well, as the std says, like a well made, short-backed hunter, covering a lot of ground. A cracking head piece, with punishing powerful jaw, excellent neck, clean and flowing into shoulders. Well ribbed, great tailset that he maintained on the move and plenty behind. put down today in fine fettle. His handler got the best out of him on a hot day, he covered the ground with a typical easy movement. DCC.

2ND 1918 - Zetamaz I'm Your Man (Mr A J & Mrs M Brookes) Another Quality exhibit, balanced and of type. Pleasing to go over. Good through head. Plenty of strength in foreface, tidy ears, smart eye and expression. Lovely through neck which flows into a clean shoulders and front. His forelegs are sraight. Well ribbed and short back. Tidy tail set with plenty behind. Gives a good picture stacked and keeps his shape on the move, where he moved accurately.RCC

3RD 1925 - Nisyros Crossfire at Azrams (Mrs L & Miss C Mclaughlan)

2 lovely youngsters at varying stages of maturity, I am sure both will progress very well.

She has a good head, of correct proportions, nice eye and correct expression. clean neck and shoulders, nice body, tail on top and plenty behind. She has great quarters. Good bone and substance for age. A mature puppy, who also put in a clean performance on the move.
