FOX SMOOTH JUDGE BOSTON 20

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge Smooth Fox Terriers at their Annual General Championship Show. There were no CC’s for Smooths however the overall quality of the dogs was still very high. I would also like to thank the exhibitors for their patience as it turned out to be a long day due to judging being delayed by an hour.

Puppy Dog (2,1)

1. Goodleys’ Eastfox Blade Runner 10mth old tan and white dog. Just a baby with plenty of time on his side. Upstanding dog, nice head and ears, good front and feet, slightly long cast, good angulation and moved ok once settled.

Post Graduate Dog (1,0)

1. Harmans’ Darlaur Dragon Slayer 3 ½ yr old black and white dog, upstanding dog with ample bone, slightly wide in skull, nice straight front and very good feet, strong shoulders and level top line, good strong rear and good tail set, slightly lethargic on the move but showed and handled well.

1. Thornton, Bebbington & Corishs’ Ch. Glendraterra Will Eye Am 19mth old white dog with black head, I have admired this dog from the ring side and was not disappointed once I had my hands on him. He has the most beautiful head with excellent ear set and expression, he has an excellent straight front with nice feet, long lean neck, leading to excellent shoulders and the shortest of back, well angulated and muscled rear with good tail set. He moves a little erratic at first but once settled can move with drive and purpose and has a level top line. Performed really well in the group. BD, BOB

2. Moores’ Wild Thing at Eskwyre 3yr old black and white dog, similar type to 1 with a short back and level top line, good head and ears but slightly kind eye. A good straight front if a little wide with good neat feet, moved well front and rear, well presented and handled unfortunate to come up against 1. RBD

Puppy Bitch (2,0)

1. Kettles’ Foxindean Future Legend 11mth old tan and white bitch, this bitch has a promising future ahead of her, feminine with a lovely head and expression. Excellent straight front with very neat feet, good shoulder and straight front, nice deep chest, strong rear with good angulation and good tailset. Moved well once she found the correct pace, presented in excellent condition. RBB, BPIB

2. Goodleys’ Eastfox Fireflame 10mth old tan and white bitch, very feminine bitch with a good head and ears a lot less mature than 1 and definitely and has time on her side, moved ok once settled both front and back.

1. Thornton & Bebbingtons’ Glendraterra Eye Catcha 19mth black and white bitch, feminine bitch with a beautiful head, neat ears and fabulous expression, nice size with the correct amount of bone, lovely straight front and neat feet, long lean neck leading to good shoulders, shortest of backs, well muscled rear with excellent angulation, once settled moved well for her handler in both directions another one to watch pushed her litter brother hard for Best of Breed! BB BOS

1. Kettles’ Foxindean Prettiest Star 2yr old white bitch with black head, shown in excellent condition, upstanding bitch that has a very pretty head and good eye, good neck and well laid shoulders, nice deep rib cage and short back, good strong rear, tailset could be better. Moved well

2. Goodleys’ Glendraterra Glad Rags 3yr old black and white bitch. Nice sized bitch, good head and ears, straight front and good feet, nice body lines and good tail set, moved ok a little close behind and seemed a little lethargic.
