FOX SMOOTH JUDGE DARLINGTON 23

Best Of Breed/BCC Wilberg, Ch Kanix Quickstep – No stranger to me as I awarded her group 1 at SWKA 2022 and my opinion of her has not changed. This lady can’t stand incorrectly, and whenever I looked at her, she was stood four square and portrayed the essence of a short backed hunter. Her head is classic as it is long, flat and refined and her expression is correct displaying a wicked glint in her eye. Her neck is long and clean and flows into shoulders which are set at the correct angle and her forelegs are straight and nicely boned. Her brisket is narrow and deep, attributing to a true fox terrier front and she holds a firm topline standing and moving and a correct tail set and carriage. Her ribs extend well back to a short loin and her quarter angles mirror her front assembly. Her talented handler works harmoniously with her to enhance her virtues and she moves so true both ways with correct footfall when viewed from side profile. I had no hesitation with awarding her the CC & BOB and was later informed this gave her the title of the breed record holder, Congratulations. I was pleased to later watch her win the terrier group and reserve best in show. Dog CC: Brookes, Zetamaz I’m Your Man JW – This boy may not have the eye catching silhouette as some of the other males, however he is well balanced, soundly constructed and moves true both ways. His head is of a good length and clean while maintaining his masculinity. His expression is typical and attributed by his correctly placed and shaped eyes and ears. He has enough neck into a good forehand that is correctly angulated, and his ribs are deep and extend back to a short loin. His quarter angles mirror his front assembly and are extremely well conditioned in muscle time. He carries a level topline, and his tai is well set on. He moves soundly both fore and aft and covers the ground effortlessly when viewed from side profile. He deserved the CC today and I was informed this was his 3rd, Congratulation. Res Dog CC: Anderson & Watt & Quigg & Kajsenborg’s Hypa Hypa As Fox At Nisyros (Imp Dnk) – Beautiful baby who has so much promise. He excels in type and balance, his head is long and well chiselled, and he has a characteristic expression, his neck is elegant, and his front construction is correctly angulated with straight well boned forelegs for his age. His ribs are carried back to a short loin and he has a good tail set. His quarters are nicely angulated and well developed in muscle tone for his age. He was presented in super condition and moved true both fore and aft. Res Bitch CC: Hannar & Hannar, Bokma Kirie At Borovale – A nice type who has a long and refined head with correctly placed eyes and ears. She has an elegant neck into shoulders set at the desired angle and her ribs extend back to a short loin. Her quarter angles are good and well developed and she has a level topline both standing and moving. She moved soundly both ways and was presented in good order. Best Puppy: Anderson & Watt & Quigg & Kajsenborg’s Hypa Hypa As Fox At Nisyros (Imp Dnk) Best Veteran: Jacques, Residenset’s Hands In The Air For Jacqspot (Swe) - This boy has a long and clean head with a typical expression, his front and rear angles are correct and he holds a firm topline standing and moving. He was presented in good order and moved true both fore and aft.

VD (1)

1 Jacques, Residenset’s Hands In The Air For Jacqspot (Swe).

PD (1)

1 Anderson & Watt & Quigg & Kajsenborg’s Hypa Hypa As Fox At Nisyros (Imp Dnk).

JD (2,1)

1 Wilberg, Kanix Rudolf Wry N Wise – Lovely type who has a long and clean head with nicely placed eyes and ears culminating in a typical expression. Elegant neck into shoulders set at the desired angle, straight and well boned forelegs and good feet. Level topline and well angulated quarters and he has a good set on. He moved true both ways and handled to get the best out of him.

LD (1)

1 Thornton & Bebbington, Nisyros Draco by Glendraterra – I loved this dog for size, type and balance. He has a lovely head that is long, refined and nicely chiselled with correctly placed eyes and ears portraying a typical expression. His elegant neck flows into a super front assembly and his forelegs are straight and well boned, his ribs are deep and extend back to a short loin and his topline is level with a good tail set. His quarter angles are nicely angulated, and his hocks are low. On the table I thought it would be difficult to find anything better than him, however when he moved, he was extremely challenging for his handler as he was pulling to the side and kicking out his left hind leg. I am sure he will reach the top when he settles to the job.

OD (2)

1 Brookes, Zetamaz I’m Your Man JW. 2 Schoneberg, Hemingway vom Ernstthal – A different type to the winner. He has a decent length of head and a good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. Level topline, short coupled and good quarters. Moved soundly both ways.

PB (1)

1 Hannar & Hannar, Borovale Lonesome Dove – A very promising baby who is raw as you would expect at this age. She has a long and refined head with a good expression and her elegant neck flows into shoulders set at the desired angle. Her quarters are nicely angulated, and she moved true both fore and aft. She needs to strengthen in her topline.

PGB (2)

1 Davison & Davison, Tynefox La Vida Loca - Good length of head, although it could be more refined. Enough neck into good shoulders, level topline and good quarters. Moved true going away.

2 Gledhill, Kanix Qantas – Good mouth and eye, level topline and a decent front assembly. Super quarters for angulation and muscletone. Moved well behind.

LB (1)

1 Marston, Chipstead Petal – Decent head and eye, although she was flying her ears which affected her expression. Good front angles, level topline and good quarters. Moved true both ways.

OB (3)

1 Wilberg, Ch Kanix Quickstep.

2 Hannar & Hannar, Bokma Kirie At Borovale.

3 Brookes, Zetamaz Crystal Rainbow.
