FOX SMOOTH JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 14

In my opinion, the breed has generally improved since I last judged in 2009. Dogs were better than bitches, but I guess, given the time of year, some of girls may be on maternal duty. Some promising youngsters. Dentition was good.

PD 1.(5:1)

1 Hanner’s Borovale Byron BP Liked this one for his size and type, good head with neat ears. Well balanced with reachy neck, nice lay of shoulder and short back. Good bone. Moved well enough – bit of a handful.

2. Brookes’s Zetamaz Frostbite Another of good size and type, in good condition and well presented. Lengthy head, compact body with good set on. Not moving as well as the winner.

3. Parsons Tamedale Caesar of Wistowhill

JD . (4:1)
1. Saunder’s Gallyshine Black Emperor lots to like about this one, shown in excellent coat and good condition, a little straight in stifle.

2. Dobson’s Resident’s get the party started at Coolins Bigger dog, needing time. Moved OK

3. Turley’s Tamedale Beethoven

PG D (2:0)

1. Darby’s Gosel the Artful Dodger of Classicway Pleasing head of good length, lovely front assembly, nice depth of brisket, good set on and hindquarters, which reflected in his movement. Good coat and presentation.

2. Dobson’s Residenset’s get the party started at Coolins

LD (3:0)

1. Thornton, Bebbington and Turner’s Glendraterra Galileo CC, BOB & G4 under another breed specialist. My notes say, best mover so far, to which I can now add, on the day, good to see a Smooth with lovely front extension, he moved well from all angles even on this difficult surface. He matches the breed standard in most areas, beautifully balanced, quality head , keen expression. Good neck, shoulders, short back, correct tailset and hindquarters. Good bone and feet. Should, have a promising future.

2. Hanner’s Borovale Kazbegi Another dog that I like very much, good size, neck and shoulder, short back and great tailset. Quality head with strong muzzle. Well off for bone and good feet. Would prefer just a little more length of leg.

3. Nichols Zetamaz Gossip Column

OD (6:0)

A super class of quality dogs.

1. Smith, Boyes and Jones’s Ch/Am Ch Absolutely out of Sight RCC I last saw this dog in April last year at his first outing in the UK, I was pleasantly surprised to see how he had improved in that time, now looking much more the part and in excellent condition and top presentation. Many, of the virtues of the CC winner, but not the bone or tight feet.

2. Thornton and Bebbington’s Fr Ch Grainbebeaute Du Manoir St Adrien Quality dog, shown in top form, moved and showed well. Classy head with good expression and strong muzzle. Lovely front and shoulders, level topline and well set tail. Well off for bone.

3. Schoneberg’s Konrad VD Schonenbergan

PB (6:5)

1. Brookes Zetmaz Winters Tail Pretty six month old puppy with lots to like, put on a good performance and moving well. God size and balance, well developed hindquarters for her age and complimentary tailset. Good head, earset and size, nice eye.

1 Thornton and Bebbington’s Thunderclap Macphee by Glendraterra. T/W bitch of good type and size, lean head of good length, would prefer more lift to ears, reachy neck into good shoulders, firm topline, moved and showed well.

PGB (2:0)

1. Morris’s Sanamaris so what RCC Lovely type, good quality head with excellent ears. Correct size, ok length of neck, good shoulders and short back. Moved well excellent presentation and condition, nice bone. Good show girl.

2. Dolman’s Chipstead Treasure at Zebec Slightly bigger bitch, well presented. Good length to head, ears could be better set. Moved well.

LB (3:1)

1. Darby’s Dobelands Candy Stripe of Classicway CC Two very nice bitches, 1 won on her overall performance and movement today. A good headed bitch with nice eye and correct ears. Nice for size, good conformation in top condition.

2. Thornton and Bebbington’s Glendraterra Suzi Kew Quality bitch all through of correct size, see she is litter sister to my BOB, giving her handler a really hard time today.

OB (3:0)

1. Griffiths’ Zandra De La Rosa at Yoxella Sweet head of good proportions with good ears and lovely eye. Good size, nice front, good length of back and hindquarters. Lovely feet. Would benefit from more time and ring presence.

2. Brookes Ch Dobelands Hot Totty at Zetamaz SH CM Quality head, nice size of ear but carriage could be better, strong well muscled body, well presented, not moving at all well behind and not putting all in.

3. Pearce and Collins Dobelands Smoothly does it for Alkinra
