FOX SMOOTH JUDGE LEEDS 17

Many thanks to the Officers and Committee of Leeds Championship Show for this invitation to judge SFT for the first time. My entry of 35 was most satisfying and I enjoyed my day immensely. Little did I know that after judging was completed I was informed that I had created history not once but twice! My dog CC winner owned by Mrs Broom of the Foxway Kennel could now claim to have won 100 CC's in the breed and my bitch CC winner 'making her a Ch' owned by Thornton, Bebbington, Corish bred by Thornton and Bebbington can now claim the record of 27 Ch's bred in one generation. The prevbious record for this achievement was held by the late Andrew Clanachan of the Maryholm Kennel satisfaction all round I'd say.

1 Dams, Tamedale Caruso. Eye catching individual of above average merit. Good proportions in head which is clean with plenty in foreface. Keen in eye with neat well placed ears. Plenty in neck with a good front assembly. He is forward in body with good ribs, short in back which leads to a well set tail with plenty behind. He stands on quality bone with neat feet. Moved out true once settled holding a pleasing outline at all times. Presented in good order. Obviously still needs time to fully mature but could not deny him BP and the RCC. What a pity he did not compete in the Puppy Group!

2 Anderson, Watt, Nisyros Absolutely Bang On. Another with many good breed points. Scores in head, eye and expression. Plenty in neck with a good front assembly. Top line and tail set good. He stands on good bone with neat feet. Needs more time to fill his frame. With maturity this will come. Moved out soundly both ways.

3 Ashley, Borovale Bruce.

1 Griffiths, Yoxella Wrecking Ball. Liked this exhibit for his overall type and quality, excels in head, eye and expression. Excellent neck and front assembly. Ribbing is good with a good tail set with plenty in rear. He stands on quality bone with neat feet. Moved out soundly on the out and back holding a good profile on the go around, although at times tended to pin slightly when stacked. Presented in good order.

2 Turley, Zetamaz Marcxel Marclean Avec Llynamill jw. I have judged this exhibit on more than one occasion in recent times and always done him well. Still not changed my opinion. He scores in head, eye and expression. Plenty in neck with a clean front assembly. Short in back which leads to a good set on bone and feet are good and he is sound. I just preferred that little bit extra scope overall that the winner provided. No disgrace here!

3 Hughes, Butcher, Belfox Pilgrim (imp)

1 Broom Ch Oaxaca Del Boy with Roxway. A true privilege to be offered the opportunity to go over this quality exhibit. So correct in head which has good balance with strength in foreface. Keen in eye with neat well placed ears which he used to good advantage at all times. Your hands just flow over his super neck which leads into a clean shoulder. He is ultra-short in back with a firm loin and spot on tail set with plenty in his rear. His bone is of good quality with neat feet. On the stack he has that air of arrogance which is hard to ignore. He is full of breed type, moved out well going away displaying good drive holding his outline on the go around. Presented in super coat and condition. Delighted to award him his 12th CC and BoB which gave their stable their 100th CC, Many congratulations looked the part in the group!

2 Thornton, Bebbington, Murray, Glendraterra Garcon. Yet another exhibit that has plenty to admire all through. Head has good balance with a keen eye which gives off an intelligent expression. Plenty in neck with a clean front assembly. He is well ribbed with a short back which leads to a well set tail. He stands on good bone with neat feet. Dark in eye which gives off an intelligent expression finished off with neat well placed ears. Plenty in neck which flows into a clean well laid shoulder. Good in ribbing with a short back which leads to a well set tail. Bone and feet are good. Once she settled and got into her stride she showed enough to claim this class.

2 Hughes, Butcher, Belfox Paris (imp). Ultra-feminine head with correct proportions. Good in eye and expression. Reachy in neck which flows into a clean front assembly. Top line and tail set is good and bone and feet are correct. I still felt she needs more time to complete the picture for maturity. This will come naturally, however did move out soundly and was well presented.

Dark in eye enhancing her keen expression. Neat well placed ears set on top. Excellent in neck which flows into a well angulated front assembly. Excellent in rib and body with a short level back which leads to a good set on with plenty behind. She stands on quality bone with neat compact feet. Loved her for size on the stack. She moved out with purpose on the out and back displaying accurate foot falls. She never gave up showing and was presented in good order. Pleased to award her the CC her third and crowning award one, and BOB thus making history for this stable as explained in my preamble. Congratulations to all concerned!

Two mature ladies having a great day out and proving the longevity of this charming breed.

1 Harrison, Adohr Treasure Trove. 2 Harrison, Adohr Tutie Fruitie. Thank you for bringing them both! Treasure Trove was just that little bit sounder on the move.
