FOX SMOOTH MANCHESTER 14 Judge: Mr Ronnie Irving BEST OF BREED : 1308 BRETON Fr Ch Graindebeaute Du Manoir Saint Adrien FOX SMOOTH JUDGE MANCHESTER 14 Smooth Fox Terriers PD (3) 1 Saunders’ Galleyshine Black Emperor, a somewhat unruly little dog here but good compact shape, pleasing in head & eye & good in foreface. Scored in hind movement over 2 here. Very good in topline. Well muscled. Good compact feet & just enough bone. Went on to win BP; 2 Mullan’s The Show Must Go On at Tamodan, moved better in front than behind, good overall shape & proportions. Correct neck. Good tailset. Good enough strength of bone & correct feet; 3 Dobson’s Residenset’s Get The Party Started at Coolins. JD (5) 1 Thornton, Bebbington & Turner’s Glendraterra Galileo, a very pleasing youngster who I thought stood out here. He scored in bone over the second. He was good in head & expression with enough length of foreface & good eye. Good neck. Moved well but needs a bit more ring discipline. Good in stifles & plenty of muscle behind. Went on to win RCC; 2 Nichols’ Zetamaz Gossip Column, a very clean cut dog but I thought a shade lacking in strength of bone. Good in neck & topline. Could be a bit more positive in pasterns but moved well behind, & well muscled. Good in rib & loin; 3 Griffiths’ Yoxella Wiki Leaks. PGD (1) 1 Brookes’ Zetamaz Rumour Has It, OK in general outline & quite pleasing in bone. Good in pasterns but would have preferred to see just a bit more refinement in head & skull & could be better under the eye. Moved better behind than in front where he pinned slightly. LD (2) Not & easy class to judge. 1 Clifford’s Migley Llywelyn, OK in head, good enough in bone & not too bad in neck but was a shade long in body & too long in the loin. Good in spring of rib. OK in hindquarters; 2 Jones’ Dobelands Wild At Heart, a bit light in bone & didn’t really stride out well going across & around the ring, could be more positive in front movement & have a shade more bend of stifle. Good spring of rib & good in topline. Scored over 1 in proportions. OD (3,1a) 1 Breton’s Fr Ch Graindebeaute Du Manoir Saint Adrien, a good headed dog with a pleasing neck & topline. Good short level back. Good pasterns & stood well in front. Plenty behind the tail & good stifles. Moved up & down well & went on to win the CC & BOB; 2 Schoneberg’s Konrad Vd Schonenbergen, a very smart dog standing but didn’t have the positive movement of the winner. Could have just a shade more strength of bone. Good neck & pleasing in outline standing. VD (3) 1 Saunders’ Star Turn of Galleyshine, an 11 year old but pleasing in outline & had some quality about him. Could use his ears better but very pleasing in neck, good tailset & topline. Very good in body & rib & strode out rather better than the others here; 2 Chalker’s Cario Dixi Moy, moved better in front than behind & looked OK head. Good tailset & good in rib – could be a shade shorter all through; 3 Brookes’ Dobelands Touch Of Frost at Zetamaz. PB (3) 1 Saunders’ Galleyshine Black Pearl, rather badly behaved & skittish here but a very promising youngster, good shape of body & enough length of leg. Needs time to develop in front. Good topline & very good tailset. Head coming on well & with more ring training will do well; 2 Smith’s Thunderclap McPhee, could be better in shoulders but good bone. Could be better in topline & a shade shorter in back, needs time to finish & tighten up a bit. Good skull & correct eye. Moved well behind; 3 Nichols’ Chantalle’s Phantom Thrill. JB (2) 1 Hughes & Butcher’s Forgevale Dream Princess, very much scored in shape, body proportions & outline over 2. Very good in head & expression. Good neck & topline, ribs just right. Correct loin & good tailset. Though she still needs time to finish I thought she had a great deal of quality & type about her & she moved really well both in front & behind. She eventually went on to take the CC; 2 Griffiths’ Zandra De-La-Rosa at Yoxella, not the proportions of the winner & could do with a shade more shortness of back. Pinning slightly in front. OK in neck. LB (2) 1 Anderson & Watt’s Chezatree Days Of Grace, rather better in outline than 2 with a better topline, OK in head & moved out quite well behind. Good bone & OK in pasterns, stood better in front than 2 & had plenty of muscle behind. Good overall shape & pleasing tail. Went on to win the RCC; 2 Darby’s Dobelands Candy Stripes of Classicway, very good in head & ears & very good in neck but could be better in topline & a shade shorter in back. Could move more positively. OB (2) Another difficult class to judge. 1 Dams, Savinni & Niel’s Belfox Lollipop, good in head & certainly used her ears better than 2 but not moving well today particularly in front. OK in neck, good tailset. Good in stifles & pleasing in bone. Not so good in body proportions where she could be a shade shorter in back to complete the picture; 2 Brookes’ Dobelands Giggle And Gossip at Zetamaz, smaller & lighter made but would simply not use her ears with any degree of consistency. Good outline & pleasing in feet. Could be better in bone & not showing all that well at times. VB (1) 1 Chalker’s Rio’s Sparkling Snowflake, a good bitch with a good neck & topline. Showed all the time, enough body. Good bone & correct feet & pasterns. Well muscled for age & she moved out very well. BV. RONNIE IRVING |
