FOX SMOOTH JUDGE RICHMOND 21

Thank you to my excellent stewards and to every exhibitor who brought their dogs under me, it was an honour to judge them. I thought the overall quality was good but hind movement is weak in too many.

JD (1)

1 Hughes, Osborne & McKenna’s Forgevale Top Gun. 17 month tan and white with a lovely head and eye. Good neck and shoulder, straight front and level top-line. Well-muscled rear with a good tail set. He was presented in super condition and moved well once settled.

LD (3)

1 Wilberg’s Kanix Quintus. Lovely size tan and white of quality. Would like more lift to his ears but he has a good head and eye with a strong jaw. He flows beautifully from a strong neck into well laid shoulders, well developed rib cage and short loin into muscled hind quarters. His front is straight, he has correct round bone and neat feet and his hind action was the best of the day. He is shown in great condition and handled beautifully. CC, BOB and later G3, Congratulations!

2 Griffiths’ Yoxella Whats the Story. B/w/t a size bigger than 1 but well balanced throughout. Good head, excellent neck and shoulders, well-bodied and in lovely hard condition. Good quarters with plenty behind his tail. Moved well.

3 Clifford’s Migley Nemo.

OD (4)

1 Hughes, Osbourne & McKenna Forgevale Supremo
One I have always admired for his quality and soundness. Lovely head and eye, good ears, Good straight front, enough bone, well laid shoulders and correct top line. Very well presented, no sign of clipping on his coat. Moved and showed well. I would have liked him to be carrying just a little more weight on the day. Res CC

2 B/w dog of great substance and presented in lovely condition. Whilst I would prefer a leaner skull, he has a good eye and expression and well placed ears. He is balanced throughout and short and square in appearance. He moved well and with some drive.

3 Vickers’ Eskwyre Meet Me in St Louis.

PB (5,1)

1 Vickers and Dams Tamedale Topaz . Lovely 11 month t/w puppy with a real varminty expression that has mischief written all over it! Strong neck into well laid shoulders, straight front and lovely bone with neat feet. Short and square in body with good rib and lovely quarters with plenty behind the tail. Moved well. Best Puppy in Breed and later Puppy Group 1, many congratulations, I shall watch her career with interest.

2 Kettle’s Foxindean Wild is the Wind. Classy t/w puppy who whilst she was born in the same month as 1, is much slower to mature. Beautiful head and eye, small ears which still need to settle, well made and very feminine throughout, I think she will make a lovely bitch given time and patience. Shown in very good order.

3 Rogers’ Only You Du Manoir Saint Adrien at Lunafox.

JB (3)

1 Vickers and Dams Tamedale Sapphire. Litter sister to the winner of PB, similar in type and so many of the same of the same comments apply though she is a shade bigger and longer. None the less a well made pup with lots to like.

2 Care and Mutum’s Foxindean Shining Star of Thunderail. 17 months b/w/t with a lovely outline. Another that is slow to mature but has good neck and shoulders, a level topline and enough bone for her size. Would prefer a stronger jaw, even for a bitch. She was well presented and handled.

3 Goodley’s Eastfox Evangaline.

PGB (3,1)

1 Vickers and Dams Jodean Jitterbug at Tamedale. B/w with a good head and eye, excellent front, neck and shoulders, held a level topline and moved well.

2 Kettles Foxindean She’s Got Medals. A close decision in this class. Another well presented bitch from this exhibitor, pretty t/w with a good head and eye, lovely legs and feet, shorter than 1 and standing I thought she could win the class but her hind action let her down today.

LB (3)

1 Vickers and Dams Jodean Symphony at Tamedale. 2 year old t/w bitch of real quality. Lovely head and eye, correct ears and an alert expression. Excellent neck and shoulders, straight front, well boned legs and good feet. Short coupled and with a strong rear end she moved with purpose. Shown in lovely condition. Bitch CC – her third I understand, and well worthy of her title, congratulations.

2 Hughes, Osbourne & McKenna’s Forgevale Scaramouche. Attractive t/w with good clear tan colouring. Good head, excellent neck and shoulder placement, well boned and good feet. Slightly longer than 1 but nevertheless a classy smooth with many positive attributes. Beautifully presented. Res Bitch CC .

OB (2)

1 Dams Tamedale Pimpernel. Lovely headed 3 year old bitch with good head and eye. Pleasing outline with good neck and shoulder. Short and square in body with good rear. Moved OK but lacking some enthusiasm.

2 Clifford’s Migley Marli. Pretty t/w with good neck and shoulder, straight front, level topline and good rear angulation. Not the bone and substance of 1. Well handled.
