FOX SMOOTH JUDGE SOUTHERN COUNTIES 21

It was wonderful to be back in the show ring, whether showing, stewarding or this time judging. I think it was all a touch strange for us and the dogs. Some had never been shown before due to Covid, and some were a bit rusty. In general it was lovely to see so many happy dogs and owners enjoying the day.

PD (2, 1) 1 Brookes’ Zetamaz Kiowa Lonewolf. Smart, showy puppy. Has a good outline, good head and eye, neat ears, still a tough loose in front, really good rear angulation and drive. Best Puppy.

PGD (2, 1)

1 Griffiths’ Yoxella Whats The Story. Heavier set dog, liked his expression, alert and using his ears, good topline and short back, front straight, toeing in slightly coming toward.

LD (1)

1 Marston’s Tamedale President From Chipstead. Good for size, enough bone and substance, masculine head, good under jaw, well laid shoulders and short back. Straight front, moved well.

OD (4)

1 Vickers’ Eskwyre Meet Me In St Louis. On his toes and showing his head off, I liked his size and conformation. Well off for bone, lovely head shape, dark eye, using his ears to advantage, big strong teeth and good under jaw. Good neck and well angulated shoulders, moved true all ways with super drive from behind. Best Dog & BOB.

2 Wilberg & Wildig’s Icepeak V D Bismarckquelle To Kanix (Imp Deu). A very flashy and eyecatching dog, a size bigger than first, scores in head, small tight ears which he used well. Super clean neck, well laid shoulders, fairly short back and good tail set, moved really well with drive from behind. Res Best Dog.

3 Brookes & Saunders’ Zetamaz Dream Warrior.

VD/B (1)

1 Grant & Hemmings’ Ch Zlatan I De La Rosa. What a lovely dog in super condition. Smart head, good eye and ears, super clean neck flowing into well laid shoulders, short back and good depth of chest, straight front and decent rear end. He moved so smoothly around the ring. Best Veteran.

GCD/B (1)

1 Grant & Hemmings’ Ch Zlatan I De La Rosa.

Sp Beg B (2)

1 Care & Mutum’s Foxindean Shining Star Of Thunderail. A lovely feminine young bitch, so happy in the ring. Liked her head, good eye and was using her ears to advantage. Good for size and outline when stood, moved very well.

2 Rogers’ Lorecon Daybreak At Lunafox. Just a little subdued on the day and didn’t want to use her ears, of heavier build. Straight front and moved very well when she got going.

PB (1)

1 Kettle’s Foxindean Wild Is The Wind. Good for size and has a lovely outline when standing, liked her feminine head and dark eye, but her ears were a little flighty, in great condition and super coat, good shoulders and topline, straight front, moved well.

JB (3)

1 Vickers & Dams’ Jodean Jitterbug At Tamedale. Very smart and promising youngster in great coat and condition, flat skull, dark eye, clean neck of good length into sloping shoulders, short back and good tail set. Straight front, decent rear angulation, moved really well. One to watch. Best Junior.

2 Care & Mutum’s Foxindean Shining Star Of Thunderail. Winner of Special Beginners.

PGB (2)

1 Kettle’s Foxindean She’s Got Medals. I wrote down “short backed hunter” a lovely young bitch, alert and has presence. Liked her head and eye, good topline, she flowed around the ring.

2 Rogers’ Only You Du Manoir Saint Adrien At Lunafox (Imp Fra). Good for size but carrying a little weight today. Was also a little subdued which showed when being stood and moving.

LB (3)

1 Vickers & Dams’ Jodean Symphony At Tamedale. Good for size, I liked her outline when stood, scores in head and ears, plenty of bone whilst still retaining femininity, Good topline and depth of chest, moved well. Best Bitch.

2 Marston’s Chipstead Mary. Good head shape, lovely dark eye and shape, super lay of shoulder, straight front, good rear angulation giving her drive on the move.

3 Brookes’ Zetamaz Crystal Rainbow.

OB (1)

1 Dams’ Tamedale Pimpernel. Lovely outline when stood, good head and eye, not using her ears to advantage, super neck and shoulders, moved well.
