FOX WIRE BATH 09 Judge: Mrs W A Bower WIRE FOX JUDGE BATH 09 Wire Fox Terriers I enjoyed my first appointment judging this lovely breed with CCs. A small entry but there was certainly some quality among the exhibits. Bites were correct but one or two could do with a teeth clean. PD (2) 1 Bradford’s Flyntwyre In The Blood, smart 8 months w/t, in very good coat although a tighter trim underneath would have improved the picture. Nicely bodied for age, level topline, short back, good overall balance, pleasing expression with correct ear carriage when he used them properly. A little erratic to start with but moved OK when he settled down. BP; 2 England’s Ashleyheath Whirlwind, balanced head, good length of neck, fair jacket, moved & showed OK. Preferred the overall balance of 1. JD (3) 1 Maughan’s Brocolitia Spartan Warrior, loved this young dog, beautifully balanced, good bone, shoulders well laid back, straight front, level topline, tail well set on, good rear angulation, nice head with dark eye giving that keen expression, in very good order & well handled. Should have a good future. RCC; 2 Barratt & Walker’s Brocolitia What’s A Brewin, smaller type than 1, pleasing outline, good length of neck & tailset, fair head. Could use ears to better advantage. Well presented; 3 Russell-Smith’s Davwen Flash Gordon. PGD (3,1a) 1 Davies, Goodsell & Wurtzburg’s Livewyre Top Dollar, good overall balance, attractively marked & in excellent condition, clean head, well placed ears & dark eye, tail on top with plenty behind, moved & showed well; 2 Chad’s Barbiwire Conquest at Parkside, longer cast than 1. In good order, correct head proportions, keen expression, used ears well, moved OK. LD (4,1) 1 Free & Moakes Blackdale Invader, good length of neck & lay back of shoulder, short back, tail on top, strong quarters, clean head with dark eye, small neat ears used to advantage, picture book marked, well presented, moved & showed well; 2 Pearce’s Alkinra Yes Sir, close up to 1, heavier marked but many of the same attributes, in excellent condition, well handled. Just preferred the head of 1; 3 Smith’s Lenicka Viking Chief. OD (2) 1 Schoneberg’s Diamant vd Schonen Bergen, very impressive male, beautiful head with dark eye, correct ears, great reach of neck into well placed shoulders, straight front, level topline, plenty behind a well set on tail, dense coat of correct texture, moved well, in top form, loved him. CC; 2 Dowling-Manson’s Aman The Admiral of Harsley, smaller type than 1, compact with good overall balance, strong muscular quarters, well presented & handled. A little short of coat, would just like to see him more animated. PB (1) A. JB (3,1) 1 Maughan’s Brocolitia Witches Brew, feminine & of nice size, lovely head, dark eye, correctly placed ears, good bone with correct front & shoulder placement, level topline, strong quarters, moved with drive, well presented & handled; 2 Salas Heaven Sent of Northwire’s at Harrowhill, in good coat. Would prefer a little more foreface but otherwise a fair expression. Good overall balance with level topline. Not quite as together as 1 & a little unsettled on the move. PGD (0). LB (2) 1 Schoneberg’s Diana vd Schonen Bergen, litter sister to my DCC winner & among the best here. Elegant with beautiful balanced outline, lovely head, correctly placed ears, dark eye, good front & reach of neck, well laid shoulders, excellent hindquarters with plenty behind the tail, moved OK when she settled down; 2 Smith’s Lenicka Dancing Queen, heavier type than 1 but nicely balanced, good head proportions, straight front, in good coat. OB (2) 1 Goodsell’s Ch Blackdale Carousel, stunning bitch with all the characteristics that epitomizes this breed, lovely head, eyes full of fire giving that penetrating expression, strong compact & short coupled body, moved well & true & with animation, very much at one with her handler, in first class order. CC & BOB, G1 & BIS; 2 Howe’s Valken Violetta, another elegant bitch who excelled in neck & shoulder placement, balanced clean head, small well placed ears, dark eye giving an alert expression, correct front, level topline, beautifully conditioned & presented, moved OK.
