Breed Notes - Constant Update

40-year record smashed at Bath

The Top Dog of 2009 in the UK, Ch/Ir Ch Blackdale Carousel, won her 37th CC at Bath under Shirley Watson which gives her the Wire Fox Terrier breed CC record set by Ch/Am Ch Gosmore Kirkmoor Craftsman 40 years ago.
She will now retire from the show ring.

Ruby was bred by Harry O’Donoghue in Ireland in June 2003 by Blackdale Magic ex Blackdale Sunshine.
She was not shown as a youngster and before entering the ring produced a litter which included an Irish BIS winner. Subsequently Harry, who usually concentrates on showing males, decided to exhibit her and she won the CC at her first show, Belfast 2006 under Dianne Heathcote.

Harry then asked Andrew Goodsell whether he would campaign her from England and she gained her title in early 2007 under Michael Gavin and Guilheme Pelissier. She ended the year as top Wire with two groups.
On loan to Andrew, she continued her campaign during 2008 and she ended up top bitch and number five all breeds,
with a BIS and two reserves. She came into her own last year and with seven more BIS and a reserve she ended up as Top Dog. A special excitement was returning to Dublin for the European Winner Show where she was
a popular BIS winner.
Her ninth UK BIS came at her penultimate show, the Scottish Kennel Club last week.
She is now back with her breeder and it is hoped she will have one more litter.

wire fox terrier bitch 6 months old
Missing from Aberford area Tel Pete on 07973890961

Thanks Tony
We're located in the East Leeds area close to the A64/A1.Poppy was unattended for 5 minutes in a friends garden with another dog.Whilst not 100% dog proof it backs onto open farm land and she was no where to be seen pretty quickly. She had not bolted or run off upto then but she could have wondered out onto the yard to investigate. We believe she may have been picked up but the CCTV doesn't have enough evidence to prove it for the police. There's not been a single sighting locally and all the farmers/dog walkers/riders/hunters were notified straight away. I'd rather not give the KC details in case someone has got hold of her. The photo on the poster was taken about 6 weeks before she went missing but its the best we have to show her markings. The WFTA are aware and she is listed on their web site as well

Thanks again
