IRISH JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 12

Irish Terriers

The rain makes everything a little bit difficult, but after the decision was taken to judge inside everything worked very smoothly.

I was very pleased with the quality. Very nice heads, extremely good coats & the trimming much better than in the past. Movement still has to be observed. Temperament was what I expected from a Terrier, if not it was due to a handler problem. Healthy pads, correct mouths.

PD (2)

1 Seabridge’s Sujoncla Powder River, young dog with correct construction, flat & well balanced head. Ears could be a bit higher placed. Elegant neck with a straight back from very proper length, excellent angulations, good coat, moved with a lot of drive, will go his way;

2 Bamsey’s Holbam Pearly Jack, very good head & expression, good topline, straight back with high tailset, harsh coat, movement OK. Needs to be trained.

JD (1)

1 Crehan’s Kerrykeel Daithi, very typical head & expression, elegant neck & straight back with high tailset, extremely good coat. Needs to settle, at the moment a little bit leggy.

PGD (1)

1 Bradley’s Montelle Vision In Red, the type I expected from this kennel, excellent head with correct expression, perfect ears, elegant neck, high tailset, excellent angulations, showed & moved with drive. Front movement has to settle.

LD (1)

1 Bissett’s Kerrykeel Enda, in tiptop condition, sound dog. Skull should be more flat. Nice ears, good quarters, great jacket, racy outline, moved well both ways.

OD (4)

1 Anderson’s Kerrykeel Eoghan, outstanding dog, perfect balance, racy outline, great head & expression, elegant topline, straight back with high tailset, correct proportions, very good angulation, lovely harsh coat trimmed to perfection, moved very soundly coming & going, has time on his side;

2 Bradley’s Montelle Irish Vision, beautiful head & expression, perfect ear carriage, good neck, straight back, very good quarters, good coat, a lot of drive from behind. Front movement a bit erratic;

3 Bamsey’s Holbam Winslow King.

PB (0).

JB (4)

1 Goss & Lambert’s Kerrykeel Regan, sound young bitch, lovely head with correct eyes, ears carried well, good arched neck, well angulated, high tailset, bit short in coat but of good structure, moved well both ways, showed nice temperament;

2 Wooding’s Sujoncla Dancing Orchid at Woodraith, good head, flat skull, correct ear carriage, straight back with correct length, high tailset, well laid shoulder, coat OK. Failed on movement;

3 Nevill’s Rosemonelle Isabella.

PGB (1)

1 Bamsey’s Holbam Tierneys Girl, correct proportions with racy outline, dark eyes. Not the best ear carriage. Good topline & tailset, movement OK, nice coat. Should be better prepared.

LB (5)

1 Blower’s Wyndam Slightly Foxed of Turith, typical head with good expression, dark eyes, correct ear carriage, good neck, straight back, tailset OK. Rips should be more flat. Dark harsh coat. Would like a little less substance. Movement quite OK;

2 Hemming’s Kerrykeel Roisin of Courtington, elegant feminine bitch, genuine irish expression, dark eyes, nice ears, pleasing overall conformation, well laid shoulder, showed in a very good condition, moved with reach & drive, lost her temperament;

3 Nevill’s Courtington Elena at Rosemonelle.

OB (5)

1 Bradley’s Montelle Leading Light, the moment this bitch entered the ring she caught my eye, a long time ago I read in a report "this dog carried his face on the map of Ireland” it applies also to her, type & quality, super feminine head, well laid shoulders, straight back, high tailset, moving with very good reach & drive, combination of substance & elegance;

2 Barker & Averis’ Fleet St Fire And Ice, truly typy terrier with lots of quality but the wrong topline, short back & weak underjaw robbed her the top awards, first-class presentation with perfect trimmed jacket, showed & moved very well;

3 Hemming’s Courtington Karina.
