IRISH LKA 13 Judge: Mrs Wendy Bower (Lakeridge) BEST OF BREED : 6277 BARKER, Mr & Mrs A & J & AVERIS Mr J Ch & Am Ch Kells Touch Of Fleet St IRISH JUDGE LKA 13 Irish Terriers I enjoyed my first CC appointment in this lovely breed. Some classes were better overall than others. Bites were correct & pads were good. MPD (2) 1 Bradley’s Montelle Royal Leader, upstanding young dog shown in excellent coat & with good substance. Straight front, good length of neck, well placed ears & keen expression. Moved well. Does not need to grow on. BP; 2 Walls’ Saredon Red Hot Attraction, well presented & nice size for his age. Ears were erratic which spoiled his expression. Moved well. PD (3) 1 M Royal Leader; 2 Stahle & Nichol’s Shallcome’s Rib Cracker, very much a baby at just 6 months old & needs to grow on. Good coat colour & texture. Well placed ears, nice expression, moved true; 3 Bamsey’s Holbam Pearly Bobby. JD (3) 1 Moakes’ Saredon Lord Of The Dance of Jomoaka, impressive young dog who won this class with ease, balanced & of good size, good length of head with correct ears & expression, tail well set on with plenty behind. Well presented & in good coat. Lovely outline on the move. Still needs to settle but I am sure one for top honours. RCC; 2 Newey’s Kerrykeel Alroy, upstanding dog who needs to learn how to show. Straight front, reasonable coat, would have liked a better set on; 3 H Pearly Bobby. PGD (2) 1 Bradbury’s Montelle Going For Gold, ears set well on the head & pleasing expression. Good length of neck, nice overall balance with tail on top, good coat & colour. Would prefer a slightly better bend of stifle. Moved OK; 2 Redman’s Applerock Lord Stefan, did not use ears to advantage & would prefer a narrower skull & smaller eye. Moved OK. LD (3,1a) 1 Stahle & Nichol’s Shallcome’s Brian Boru, nice size & overall balance, well presented & in good coat. Did not always use ears to advantage. Moved well but a little more animation would improve the whole picture; 2 Crehan’s Kerrykeel Daithi, well placed ears, straight front, good substance. Did not show to advantage, preferred the overall balance of the winner. OD (4,1) 1 Barker & Averis’ Ch/Am Ch Kells Touch Of Fleet St, very well presented & shown in beautiful condition. A balanced dog, good body, well ribbed back, tail on top, pleasing expression & a great showman. Moved very well. CC & BOB; 2 Seabridge’s Ch Sujoncla Powder River, bigger type than the winner, lovely reach of neck & lay back of shoulder, reasonable coat, powerful hindquarters with plenty behind a well set on tail. Moved very well. Just preferred the size & overall balance of the younger dog when awarding the RCC; 3 Bissett’s Ch Kerrykeel Enda. MPB (2,1) 1 Cooke’s Montelle Leading Question, promising pup, clean head with lovely ears & expression, straight front with good overall balance, correct coat texture, moved well. PB (3,1) 1 Bamsey’s Holbam Pearly Star, another promising youngster, clean head with nice ears which she did not always use to her advantage. Plenty of substance & good outline which she retained on the move. Nicely presented, showed steadily & moved well; 2 M Leading Question. JB (2,1) 1 Holbam Celtic Kate, correct head & well placed ears, nice size & overall balance. Good coat & presentation. Moved OK. Would like to see her more animated. PGB (4) 1 Goss & Lambert’s Kerrykeel Regan, lovely coat & in excellent condition. Good bone, substance & size. Liked her head proportions but would prefer a smaller eye. Moved & showed well; 2 Jones’ Montelle Sweet Dream, smaller type, nicely balanced & in reasonable condition. Moved OK; 3 Nevill’s Rosemonelle Isabella. LB (8,2) 1 Anderson’s Kerrykeel Aoife, liked her a lot, good overall balance with a racy outline, nice sized ears set well on, good length of head & pleasing expression, straight front with good hindquarters, tail on top. Moved & showed well – predict a bright future. RCC; 2 Wooding’s Sujoncla Dancing Orchid at Woodraith, good head proportions & nicely placed ears. Liked her outline, feminine but with substance, very short of coat on the day. Moved & showed well; 3 Hemming’s Kerrykeel Roisin of Courtington. OB (4,2) 1 Barker & Averis’ Irvonhill White Rose, excellent presentation & condition, good body proportions, shoulders well laid back, straight front & strong quarters, nicely placed ears. Moved with drive & showed well. CC; 2 Atwell’s Xanwil Mystical Girl, well presented & shown in good coat of good size & overall balance. Ears were a little erratic. Moved OK. VB (1) 1 Williamson & Stirling’s Ch Montelle Mi’Lady, 10 years old & what a credit to her owners. In beautiful condition & has not coarsened in any department. Moved & showed very well. A really lovely Irish. WENDY BOWER |
