IRISH NATIONAL TERRIER 12 Judge(s) ANGELA GODDARD DCC CH/AM CH FLEET ST FENWAY FAN (MR A & MR V BARKER & MALZONI) IRISH TERRIER It was an honour to judge at this show. I was quite hard on dogs which were not well muscled, something I feel is most important. There were a lot with dirty teeth, there is no excuse for this. A few mouths were muddled and one overshot this must be dealt with by the breeders as it is a fault which is very difficult to eradicate. As I recall not a problem in the past. All pads were clean. There was a great diversity of size and type. I found over all quality better in dogs than bitches. However, I was very pleased with my winner and delighted by BOB went on to BIS. MPD (3) 1 Seabridges Sujuncla Powder River. At just 6 months. Very promising, long head, small dark eye, good ear set and carriage, good neck, well laid shoulders, back of good length, straight front, small feet, well angled quarters, harsh coat, moved steadily and soundly. 2 Bamsey's Holbam Pearly Jack. Good head, needs to grow into his ears. Pleasing body proportions, coat coming nicely, very erratic on the move, so difficult to assess. PD (3) 1 & BP Anderson's Kerrykeel Eoghan. Very smart pup. Very long lean head, good expression, pleasing neck running into well laid shoulders, straight front, small feet, well muscled quarters, went well. 2 Holbam's Pearly Jack. 3 Crehan's Kerrykeel Daithi. JD (1) 1 Bradley's Montelle Vision in Red. Tall racy outline, dark eyes, very good ears but would like cleaner skull. Straight front, needs more turn of stifle, moved well in front but close behind. PGD (3) 1 Montelle Vision in Red. 2 Davis' Bens Heir Big Tornado. Another tall one, very nice head, expression spoilt by low set ears, lovely neck and shoulder, good length of back, well muscled all through. Went well. LD (4) 1 & RCC Bissett's Kerrykeel Enda. Lovely dog which has matured well. Ideal size with good head and expression, crisp well presented coat, pleasing balanced outline, straight well boned front, small feet, hocks well let down with good turn of stifle, very good muscle tone. Sound purposeful mover. One to watch. 2 Seabridge's Sujoncla Kowtolik. Taller racy outline, pleasing head and expression, very good forehand, strong well angled quarters, well muscled, moved soundly. 3 Cookes' Lionwood Rowanberry ShCM. OD (2) 1, CC, BOB, BIS Barker & Malzoni's Ch/Am Ch Fleet St Fenway Fan. Well known winner, beautiful head and expression, arched neck unto well laid shoulders, wonderful showman moving well all the time, coat presented in first class order. Strong muscular quarters, delighted he went on to take the top spot. 2 Bamsey's Holbam Winslow King. Taller dog. Very nice neck and shoulders, long back, movement let him down, could have been presented better. MPB (2) 1 Seabridges Tatoke Inyanke. Promising baby of 6 months on the day. Litter sister to MPD winner. Racy outline, good neck and well laid shoulders, expected from this kennel. Coat coming nicely, difficult to assess, movement as very bouncy! PB (3) 1 McGhie's Irvonhill Nettie. Good sized 10 months old. Pleasing head, lovely neck and shoulders, well angled quarters, moved well, needs more body but has time. 2 Bradley's Sherry Red Kate at Montelle. Taller. Very nice head and expression, rather upright in shoulder which impaired front movement, good length of back, would like more muscle tone and a new coat. JB (6) 1 Wooding's Sujoncla Dancing Orchid at Woodraith. Eye catching bitch with racy outline, very nice head piece, good reach of neck, sloping shoulders, very good front movement but tad close behind. Needs more condition but when bodied up should be a force to reckon with. Liked her a lot. 2 Jones' Montelle Sweet Dreams. Ideal size, good head and expression, fair neck and shoulders, straight front, good quarters with ample turn of stifle, moved soundly and steadily. 3 Stahle & Nichols Shallcome's Canoodle. NB (4) 1 Jones' Montelle Sweet Dreams. 2 Bradley's Sherry Red Kate at Montelle. 3 Boyle's Montelle Red Vision. PGB (3) 1 Bamsey's Holbam Tierney's Girl. Racy outline, fair shoulders, rather high stepping in front, good hind movement. 2 Ebdon's The Dervla at Flashback. Smaller and not the quality of bone of winner. Fair head, expression, spoilt by wayward ears. Shoulder placement OK. Rather square in outline, good turn of stifle, very smart mover. LB (5) 1 Blower's Wyndham Slightly Foxed of Turith. Pleasing head and expression, very well boned, in good muscular condition. Super coat and presentation. Sound mover. Rather too much of her for me. 2 Atwell's Xanwil Mystical Girl. Good racy outline, lovely long head, dark eye and good expression, pleasing neck and shoulder, well angled quarters. Lacked muscle all through. Coat trimmed very tight, went well. OB (4) 1 & CC Barker's Fleet St Fire and Ice. Although in need of a new jacket her quality shone through. Ideal size, lone head, small dark eyes, well set ears giving good expression, very well laid shoulders, straight front, long back, well muscled with good turn of stifle, when not pacing moved with precision and drive. 2 &* RCC Batley's Larkans Yasmine. Slightly smaller lead head, dark eye, ears could be tighter, lovely neck and shoulder, good angles fore and aft, moved well, rather soft in topline here but pulled herself up in Challenge. 3 Hemmings' Courtington Karina. Breeders: Bradley's Montelle. Well matched team. Angela Goddard |
