IRISH NATIONAL TERRIER 17 Irish Terrier Judge: Mrs S Seabridge BEST OF BREED : 590 BARKER, Mr & Mrs A & J & AVERIS Mr J US Ch Irvonhill Leave It To Me IRISH JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 17 I would like to thank all the exhibitors who entered under me at this year’s prestigious 100th National Terrier Club Championship Show. As well as my top honours there were some very good dogs in the lower classes. However I do feel that we need to concern ourselves with the top size of some of the dogs in order to comply with the breed standard of 18 inches Bitches’ and 19 inches dogs. 1 Wamsler’s, Kells Fire In The Sky. Well balanced and racy with good substance. Head of good length and proportions, flat skull, with correct set ears used well to give a good expression. Dark eye and correct bite, a moderate length of neck into well laid back shoulders, although a little loose in this area at only eight months old the muscle has not had time yet to firm up the front. Well ribbed back with moderate length of loin, a good tail set with correct bend of stifle good feet moved well when settled. DRCC & BPIB PD. (4) 1. Wamsler’s Kells Fire In The Sky. 2. Averis & Barker’s Saredon No Doubt (TAF) Another well balanced youngster just preferred the substance of one. Lovely head with well set ears giving a good expression. Fair length of neck, fine shoulders, deep chest and strong back. Tail well set, a moderate bend of stifle. Coat of good texture, good feet he also moved well when settled. 3. Bamsey’s, Holbam Celtic Warrior. JD. (1) 1 Brookes’ Turith The Lawyer At Zetamaz. Pleasing head and expression with well set ears used to his advantage. Strong underjaw, fair length of neck and a nice deep chest, good lay back of shoulder, I would have preferred to see a little more strength in the hindquarters and hocks. Good harsh coat, good feet, moved ok. LD. (3) 1.Rundle & Williams, Sidewater Sea Fury. Smart young dog, who showed himself to full advantage. Long head a flat skull, ears well set, dark eye giving a good expression, strong jaw and correct bite. Clean neck of good length into long well laid back shoulders giving correct front movement. Deep chest, well ribbed back, strong hindquarters, with good strong second thigh, hocks well let down. Tail well set with plenty behind, good coat texture and colour. Pleased to give him the DCC. 2. Redman’s , Applerock Lord Stefan. Well-proportioned head with dark eye and strong jaw, just need to use his ears. Fair length of neck and well laid back shoulders, moderate bend of stifle, well muscled, moved well both ways. 3. Atkin’s Gengis Khan. OD. (2.1) 1. Thomas’ Ch. Montelle Royal Leader At Sunnystone. Up to size dog with well proportioned head with flat skull and dark eye, well set ears giving a good expression. Fair length of neck into well laid back shoulders, giving correct front movement. Deep chest and well ribbed back, good hindquarters with hocks well let down, moved ok. PB (3) 1. Price’s, Magairlin black Magic Woman. Feminine youngster who won this class on movement. Decent head with dark eye and well set ears, moderate length of neck into fine shoulders. Nice length of back with loin just starting to muscle up. Tail on top, clean feet. 2. Bamsey’s Holbam Celtic Miss Chief. Another nice feminine puppy with a well proportioned head and good expression, fair length of neck, shoulders just a little loose at this stage, moderate stifle, good hocks, clean feet. Moved ok 3. Atkin’s Holbam Celtic Summer. JB. (3.1) 1. Wortley’s, Jarabica Tiger Lily. Decent head but would prefer a little more strength of muzzle, fair length of neck into good lay back of shoulder, strong back and loin, good hindquarters with a strong second thigh. Good tail set, moderate length of stifle, clean feet, moved a little close behind. 3. Hardman’s Bonosue Whipper Snapper.
