IRISH NATIONAL TERRIER 19 Judge: Mr G Corish BEST OF BREED : 581 AVERIS, Mr J & BARKER, Mr A & HARDMAN Mr I UK Red Lucifer At Bonosue IRISH JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 19 Type today was very mixed and lack of temperament both standing and movement was not good, but my biggest worry was heads. Thick skulls, heavy ears and short forefaces are not true Irish. Sp B/D (1) 1 Redman's Holbam Celtic Little Minx. Very nice young bitch, nice type, good neck and shoulder, nice straight front, good feet and pads, head is very pleasing, uses her ears well and has a good expression, very nice presentation, went on to BPIB. MPD (1) 1 Atwell's Kerrykeel Conchobhar At Xanwil. 7 mths old male and doesn't need to grow any more, he is all male in head and expression, would like a smaller eye for more typical expression, he has a good neck and shoulder, his topline is good, a bit headstrong as yet and could have been more settled, but tiome will help. PD (3) 1 Averis & Barker's Saredon Citizen Smith. Excellent for type and balance, very typical in head and expression, nice small ears, well carried, his topline is good, well ribbed, excellent coat and presentation, just needs a bit more time to settle in movement. 2 Bamsey's Holbam Celtic Wizzard. Ok for size and balance, very full of himself and showed well, his front is good and feet, not quite as good in shoulder as first, moved ok though. 3 Atwell's Kerrykeel Conchobhar At Xanwil. JD (4) 1 Blower's Turith Adonis. This is a very promising dog. Very good overall balance. Super head and eye giving true Irish expression, in super coat and presentation, he is sound but could put a bit more into it. 2 Bamsey's Ch Holbam Celtic Wizzard. Not as mature as first but ok for size, he is also sound and more outgoing than first, he just needs to develop a bit more in rib and carry a bit more weight but he is young still and that will come. 3 Cooke's Montelle Look Of Gold. PGD (1) 1 Simons' Saredon Red Berry. 2 yr old and all male, his head is long but a bit strong in back skull, his ears could be a little smaller too. Having said that, he is very sound, good neck and shoulder, good topline and tail set, he was in super hard coat and was well handled. OD (2) 1 Averis, Barker & Hardman's UK Red Lucifer At Bonosue. Very showy dog and very Irish in type, being a little longer than high and refined in body, super front and feet, excellent presentation, very sound dog, he has a true Irish head and expression and nice small ears. DCC and BOB. 2 Thomas' Ch Lead The Way To Montelle. This dog was a little different in type to first, his head is all male and a little strong in back skull, his front and feet are good, good roach of neck, shoulder a touch high which makes him lift his front a little. Res CC. VD/B (2) 1 Bannister's Ch Montelle Vision In Red JW ShCM. 2 Price's Sujoncla Dancing Orchid At Woodraith. Two good veterans of good age, both moved better than some of the younger ones. The winner scored in topline and tail set. My second was better in neck and shoulder. My winner had a fabulous coat for a 9 yr old, but both showed well and enjoyed their day out. PB (2, 1) 1 Redman's Holbam Celtic Little Minx. JB (3, 1) 1 Seabridge's Sujoncla Lolo Creek. Very typy bitch, refined as required in the standard. Her front and feet are good, good topline and tailset, she has a long clean head but would like smaller ears and a bit more lift to them. Super coat and presentation and showed well. 2 Rhodes' Magairlin Silver Dawn At Ghyllslap. Different in type to first being a bit shorter and heavier, she is a sound mover, good reach of neck but shoulder a bit high and spoils her balance on the move, excellent coat and presentation. PGB (3) 1 Wortley's Jarabica Tiger Lily. Very nice bitch to go over, good in front and feet, excellent topline and tail set, good hindquarters and moves well both ways, very good coat presentation. 2 Cooke's Royal Lady At Montelle. I liked this bitch when she game in, again nice to go over, very typy, her head is ok but could use her ears more and this pegged her back today. 3 Hardman's Bonosue Red Tess. LB (4, 1) 1 Bannister's Holbam Celtic Nuala. A difficult class with so many variations. First ok for size, good neck and shoulder, good topline and tail set, moved well, in very good coat. 2 Atkin's Holbam Celtic Summer ShCM. Ok for balance but a heavy body for me. She moves well, again good coat, would prefer a longer and cleaner head type. 3 Atwell's Xanwil Sorceress. OB (4) 1 Pratt's Saredon Leading Lady Of Terrijay. I thought this bitch so nice, feminine in head and expression, dark eye, excellent front and feet, good neck and shoulder, excellent coat texture, good topline and tail set, looked well both standing and moving. BCC after a run of reserves. 2 Averis & Barker's Cherry Zest At Saredon. Similar in some ways as first, but looked a bit heavy at times, though going over her she isn't, again a nice overall balance, excellent coat texture and presented, just came into season, which is why she could have moved out a bit more. Res CC. 3 Howarth & Looker's Kells Hot Tempest (Imp). Judge G. Corish
