IRISH SOUTH WALES 15 Judge(s): MARK WALSHAW Irish Terriers Many thanks to the committee for the wonderful hospitality & inviting me to judge Irish & Lakeland Terriers at SWKA, a very enjoyable day & a great show, which ran very well. Thanks to all the exhibitors for spending their hard earned cash on entries, much appreciated, for this difficult to get to location. Judging was inside the halls as is now usual & as the breeds were not scheduled first in the ring, thus involved a little waiting around. I am not sure if this unsettled a few of the dogs, as when judging commenced, some were uneasy & would have preferred to have been elsewhere, which certainly affected their performance & placings. However, some great quality in a small entry. OD (2) 1 Barker & Averis’ Ch Lakeridge Cahal, 2 year old male put down in tip-top condition. Presenting a balanced, racy outline. He has a head of good length, dark eye, small ears & keen expression. Fair length of neck, leading into well placed shoulders & a correct front. A good depth of rib & a well set tail, set on high. Well angulated rear, which he put to good use when moving effortlessly around the ring, covering the ground with ease. His crisp harsh well presented jacket completed the picture. BD & BOB; 2 Rundle’s Ch Sidewater The Pretender, 7 year old, put down in hard condition. Strong head, with muscular jaw. Well off for bone & strong body throughout. A good topline & tail well set on. Well angulated rear. In good jacket. Steady mover, covering the ground with purpose. OB (0). MARK WALSHAW |
