IRISH SOUTHERN COUNTIES 23 Judge: David Shields PD (2) 1 Averis & Barker’s Holbam Ace of Saredon. What a cracker. Top class youngster who is so well made throughout and was on his toes at all times. Best of heads, good length with correct flat skull and a small dark expressive eye. Scores in front assembly, good depth of chest, firm back and well developed hindquarters for his age along with his tail bang on top. Presented in super coat. Sound positive mover, BP, BD & BOB. Pleased to see him go PG1 and then take Res.BPIS. 2 Anderson’s Kerrykeel Damhnaic. Very much a baby but presents a pleasing outlook. Typical in head, long, clean cut and a good eye and expression. Stands on good legs and feet, level topline, pleasing tailset and well made quarters. A little unsettled on the move today but this will improve as he grows in confidence. 1 Oliver’s Rufous Gubben of Cleeve. Typey young man not long out of Junior. Built on clean lines and has a very active and outgoing appearance. Good head, dark eye and the best of expressions. Pleasing reach of neck set in well placed shoulders, straight front, well boned but shows no sign of coarseness. Strong back which he holds on the move and good strength of hindquarters. Harsh coat. Moved well, RBD. 1 McConnell’s Tootrock Arcturus. Upstanding dog but still presents a balanced outlook. Pleasing head with a typical eye and the keenest of expressions. Clean over the neck and shoulders, good legs and feet, pleasing depth of chest. Decent width of quarters. Sound on the move. 1 Bamsey’s Holbam Celtic Wizard JW. Balanced dog built on clean lines. Good headpiece, pleasing length, good strength of jaw and a dark eye and keen expression. Scores in neck and shoulders, good depth of chest, fair spring of rib and well muscled hindquarters with a pleasing bend of stifle. Moved well on a reasonable stride. 1 Rhodes Ghyllslap Bluebell. Typey bitch of overall pleasing size and balance who was on her toes at all times. Good head and expression along with well set ears. Pleasing front assembly, good legs and feet, firm level topline and good width of quarters. Moved soundly both fore and aft, BSB. 2 McConnell’s Holbam Shamrock Connie. Very similar make and shape to the winner. Presents a typical outlook both stood and on the move. Pleasing head with an alert expression. Clean over the neck and shoulders, strong back and well made hindquarters. Positive on the move. Just preferred the ear set of the winner. PB (2) 1 Bradshaw’s Holbam Midsummer Sprite. See she is the litter sister of the BOB, not as forward as her sibling but has many of his positive breed attributes. Clean outline, good size and well off for substance but is not overdone in anyway. Balanced head, good length, nicely chiseled which gives that quality appearance. Good reach of neck set in well placed shoulders, well bodied and a harsh coat. Sound mover once she got into her stride. 2 Anderson’s Kerrykeel Caragh. Giving a lot away in age to the winner but a very typey baby. Good head piece, small dark and expressive eye and neat ears. Scores in neck and shoulders, good body and rib for her age along with well made quarters. Still a little unsettled on the move but once she gained her confidence moved well. 1 Holbam Midsummer Sprite. 2 Ghyllslap Bluebell. PGB (1) 1 Holbam Shamrock Connie. 1 Karau’s Balirolyat Molly’s Diva. Very smart bitch, good size and so typical throughout. Liked her shape, moderately long body as the standard asks for and has a well balanced outlook. Typical in head, pleasing length and a keen expression. Well made forequarters, straight front and good legs and feet. Level topline and a good tailset along with a harsh and wiry coat. Moved soundly fore and aft, RBB. 2 McConnell’s Feegarron Star. Typey bitch of pleasing make and shape. Very well made front assembly, good reach of neck and well laid back shoulders. Pleasing depth of chest and well muscled hindquarters. Preferred the head piece of the winner and could not match the positive movement of the first. 1 Bentley’s Norakim Tango of Newguild. One I liked a lot. Very well built and has that graceful racy outline the standard asks for along with the required substance to complete the picture. Best of heads, good length, correct flat skull, alert expression and well set neat ears. Scores in neck and shoulders, firm body and a good topline and tailset along with strong quarters that she uses to advantage on the move. Put down in good order on the day. Sound mover both fore and aft, BB. 2 Oliver’s Kerrykeel Aobheann. Typey bitch of good size and of overall pleasing confirmation. Balanced head, small dark eye and the best of expressions. Good legs and feet, strong level back and pleasing hindquarters with adequate bend of stifle. Moved well but could not match the positive movement of the winner.
