IRISH JUDGE WELKS 19

I would like to start by thanking the Secretary and Committee of WELKS for inviting me to judge the Irish Terriers today, this was my first ticket appointment, I had a wonderful day judging and then to be able to sit and watch my BOB win the Terrier Group was amazing. I would also like to thank the Terrier Group Judge, Mr A Small, for awarding my Best of Breed Terrier Group 1. It was also nice to see so many good bites in the breed, no issues with teeth noted today with any dog.

VD (2, 1)

1 Bannister's Ch Montelle Vision In Red JW ShCM. 9 year old dog with a really good coat and condition. Nice reach of neck into good shoulders, good tail set, a little sluggish on the move today.

PD (2)

1 Bamsey's Holbam Celtic Wizard. 11 month old with lovely bone and structure. Well balanced head with great expression in very good coat. Good neck into laid back shoulders, good topline and set on of tail. Nice tight feet, and moved well.

2 Neville's Norakim An Storr At Rosemonelle. A nice sized young boy, not quite the bone of first. In good coat and presented well. Nice balanced head, a little unsettled on the move today but will settle and develop with time.

2 Cooke's Montelle Look Of Gold. This is a great boned dog and in great coat, lovely balance of head with a great expression. Could have been first today but would not move properly to see the movement, such a shame.

YD (1)

1 Inker & Isaacs' Thatcher Michelin. 18 month old dog, well put together, good bone, nice head with very good ears and used well, well trimmed but just needed a tad more coat today. Moved ok, would like a little more drive from the back which I know the dog has.

LD (1)

1 & RDCC, Anderson & Byrne's Kerrykeel Dillon Jun Ch. Well balanced head, great length of neck well arched leading into well laid back shoulders, in good coat, tail set well on, nice tight feet, with plenty behind this dog drove well off the rear. Great topline held well on the move. A dog with attitude.

OD (2, 1)

1, DCC, BOB & TG1, Gruettner's World Ch Doyle Von Der Emsmuehle. This dog owned the ring from the moment he walked in. Very typy dog, fantastic head and expression, nice sized eye which set off the expression. Strong neck leading in well laid back shoulder, nice deep chested dog, great coat and condition. Well boned and well angled dog, Moved very well and held his topline all the time.

VB (1)

1 & RBCC, Price's Sujoncla Dancing Orchid At Woodraith. An 8 year old bitch who really pushed hard today to challenge for the ticket just not the expression of the ticket winner. She is in great condition with a beautiful coat and very well presented. Nice small eye, well balanced head, good neck and shoulders. Good angulation, well boned and nice small tight feet.

PB (4, 1)

1 Oliver's Kerrykeel Aobheann. 7 month old bitch, very eye catching, well balanced head with very good ear set, a nice small eye adding to her expression, nice reach of neck into very good shoulders, well boned Bitch, in good coat, moved well, one to watch for the future.

2 Ruffles & Williamson's Holbam Celtic Erin. 11 month old bitch who pushed the first hard today, not quite the expression of first. In very good coat and condition, nice bone moved well today with drive. Nicely angled, good furnishings and tidy feet.

3 Bamsey's Carliams Witching Hour.

YB (3, 1)

1 Anderson's Kerrykeel Naoise. 17 month old well balanced all round bitch. Lovely head and expression, great ears well placed and used well. Well boned bitch in good coat, moved well with drive and held her topline on the move.

2 McIver's Pinleygreen Golden Rocket. Not the head of first, the ears are a little heavier taking away some of the expression. Nicely boned Bitch with a good deep chest and in good coat, moved well with drive.

PGB (1)

1 Cooke's Royal Lady At Montelle. Very nicely put together Bitch nice head good eyes, right ear a little unsettled, very nice coat and furnishings, well boned, could have moved with a little more drive today.

LB (3)

1 Atkins' Holbam Celtic Summer ShCM. Good strong bitch, with a nice head just lacking in a little expression, well laid back shoulder in good coat and well presented. Good tail set and nice angulation, moved well with drive.

2 Ruffles' Holbam Celtic Whisper At Ruffmar JW. Nice bitch with a good head and face furnishings, in good coat, good reach of neck and good shoulders, with a good set on tail, not quite the movement of the first today.

OB (3)

1 & BCC, Anderson's Ir/It Ch Kerrykeel Aoife. Very eyecatching bitch of nice type with a lovely head and expression, lovely neck and shoulders, well boned, very nice tight feet, nice balance of rib and loin, plenty behind, tail well set on, would like a little more coat around the shoulders, good angulation and moved well.

2 Price's Magairlin Adhmor Queen. Another nice bitch but not quite the ears and expression of first. In very good coat and condition well presented, nice deep chest, very nice cat like feet and moved well with drive.

3 Grant & Hemmings' Ch Courtington Storm.
