IRISH WELSH KENNEL CLUB 14 Judge: Mrs Z Thorn-Andrews BEST OF BREED : 4886 BARKER, Mr & Mrs A & J & AVERIS Mr J Lakeridge Cahal IRISH JUDGE WELSH KENNEL CLUB 14 Irish Terriers VD & PD (0). JD (2) 1 CC, BOB & G1, Barker & Averis’ Lakeridge Cahal, lovely dog all through. There’s some spark about him. Handy size, masculine head, ears set perfectly, good pigment, excellent bone & small tight feet. Keeps his topline moving & is dead true. A quality youngster; 2 Thomas’ Montelle Royal Leader, bigger all through & ears not so settled. More upright in shoulder, good length & width for his size, moved well with some drive & power in rear. Excellent coat texture. PGD (1) 1 Hulton’s Newguild Pride, good length of foreface, ears very dark & set a little too the inside of the eyes, not the outside which gives him a strange carriage of ears. Beautifully muscled, good front, well boned & tidy feet. Tailset a wee bit low, powerful impressive quarters & a lovely body, ribbing & depth of chest. Great coat. LD (0). OD (2) 1 RCC, Moakes’ Saredon Lord Of The Dance of Jomoaka, lovely head, eyes set well & good pigment. Ears set a little too high & too close together, front could be better & feet are rather flat. Super body & ribbing, excellent topline & rear. Tailset & carried well & his rear movement is perfect, correct size & proportions; 2 Jackson’s Montelle Vision In Red, bigger boy, not moving well in front & rear & he hopped several times. Lovely coat in good order, pleasing masculine head & good ears, well boned & excellent feet. VB (0). PB (4) 1 BP, Lucas’ Gabledown Mockingbird, nice pups both, unfortunately had to withhold 3rd through lack of type & no coat, she was an untrained puppy. Winner good size, pleasing head & although she looked cut away under the eyes she wasn’t, & it was just a lack of hair, promising throughout, just needs to get her act together moving; 2 Anderson’s Kerrykeel Brianna, smart & full of herself, also bouncy moving, a little more upright in quarters & her coat was not right on the day. Rather a single coat although it was hard, pleasing head, eye placement & pigment; 3 Withheld. JB (4) 1 Lovelace’s Allwyn Therefore Brazan, good size & super head & expression, very keen. Good front, bone & feet, excellent body for age & good quarters, she needs more muscle & rive in rear, but hope that will come. Well presented; 2 Cooke’s Montelle Leading Question, not the front of winner but more power in rear. Stands with her feet turned out & shoulder blades set too wide at the withers, lovely coat & pigment, good length & strength of foreface; 3 Bower’s Lakeridge Niamh. PGB (1) 1 Bamsey’s Holbam Pearly Star, pleasing head & correctly set ears, OK in front, lovely body, topline & ribbing, she picks her rear up too high on the move. Handy size, shows well, a bit between coats & needs more leg hair. LB (2) 1 RCC, Rundle’s Sidewater Amy Gale, beautiful bitch, lovely to go over, excellent front & rear angulation. Liked her head & eye set. Good pigment, coat a bit short down sides of neck, super bone & feet. A quality girl moving soundly & freely & was very precise; 2 Ruffles’ Ruffmar Bronzed Ballerina, older girl, a touch too much weight over waist & not moving with the verve of winner. Also a beautiful head & expressive eyes, excellent colour, tailset a wee bit low. OB (4) 1 CC, Keynon’s Wyndam Clara, biggish bitch in lovely nick, full of herself & showing well. Very sound & precise moving, good legs & small feet with knuckled up, pleasing head & in good coat & body. Was very naughty moving but such a nice type & quality; 2 Bamsey’s Holbam Celtic Kate, good size, feminine & quite strong. She was moving smoothly in profile. I thought her feet could have been thicker. Very true up & down, just not covering the ground going around. Good coat & body condition; 3 Anderson’s Kerrykeel Aoife. ZENA THORN-ANDREWS |
