Kerry Blue Terriers
PD (3) 1 Davani’s Granemore Maximillian at Kebulak, very smart young dog, very collected on the move, long clean head with neat ears & good expression, very nice outline, good coat texture for his age. I see from the catalogue he is a Granemore & so I think Malachy would have approved. BP;
2 Dale & Cooper’s Kamaghan Ace Lynnsto, slightly taller than 1, head & expression I really liked. Not quite as good in shoulder as 1 & so didn’t have the forward extension but his handler had him well collected & showed well;
3 Lister’s Maebryn Blue Fir, smallest of the 3 & on the day not moving as freely as the two above. Nice head & ears. Rather short in neck & could be better in shoulders. He is young yet & will be interested to watch his progress as he matures.
Soundness was a problem in this class.
1 Pinfold’s Cyres Master Craftsman, OK for size, on the go round he far exceeded the rest. He could use his ears more to advantage. Good reach of neck, expertly presented & in good body condition, straight in front, good topline & tailset. Should do well as the year goes on;
2 Forrest & Scott’s Cranmoss Andromeda, this dog has the most fabulous head, long, clean, strong in muzzle & neat ears. Not as good as 1 moving but standing is a nice dog. Nicely presented for his age;
3 Davani’s Stanstead Shakin Stevens at Kebulak, very nice head & ears, good pigment, sound coming & going. Not as compact as 1 & 2 & moves really well in profile. Well handled to get the very best out of him.
1 Munro’s Arkama Big Time, full of spirit, great moving dog, long clean head, good ears, straight in front, good outline, excellent coat & colour, sound coming & going. Not an easy dog to show but the handler had him under control the whole time & had him looking very good;
2 Neen’s Newent Orpheus, very close to 1, liked his outline, good size, good coat & colour. Will do well I’m sure with ordinary luck;
3 Deen’s Kamaghan King Of Swing, liked this dog standing. Not a big dog but well put together, good coat & colour, good reach of neck. Just lacked the freedom of movement of the above.
1 Netherwood & Main’s Nedavir Notorious, very stylish dog, nice size, coat changing colour nicely, super outline, sound coming & going, good front & feet, good hindquarters, well handled. To be critical would like a bit more colour;
2 Walters’ Kenmileven First Class for Kamaghan, nice dog, not quite as mature as 1 in body. Lots to like about him, moves well in profile, sound coming & going, should do well;
3 Ward’s Rimbert Phantom Menace, very attractive, still dark & needs to change colour soon. Moves well both ways, stylish mover in profile. Carrying a lot of weight & for me he could be cleaner in back skull.
This was a most wonderful class & it was a joy to judge. Not a bad one to be seen.
1 O’Brien & Poulova’s Ir Ch/Ch Edbrios Amadeus, light silver who was presented to the last hair. Moves so well, long clean head, super set of ears, good front, well worthy of his place. He pulled out all the stops in the challenge to take the CC. For BOB I just felt he could have carried more coat on his topline;
2 Carvey & Davani’s Arkama Pinball Wizard at Philwyre, what a headache to sort these two out & this dog I liked a lot also. Similar shape, good reach of neck, good in head, Perhaps could use his ears a bit more but they were in the right place when he did use them. RCC;
3 Davies & Neill’s Ch Perrisblu Street Wise for Kensbridge, another I liked but in the end the two above just had a bit more presence. Good size, moves well both ways, long clean head & good expression, his coat is the right texture & of a good colour. Maybe an outside ring would benefit him more.
1 Walters’ Kamaghan Diva, very feminine puppy, bit immature as yet. OK for size, good outline, moves really well, good head & ears, good front, good coat, should do well;
2 Deen’s Maebryn Silver Fir, 12 months & immature as you would expect Couldn’t match winner’s head & ears & just needs to grow on a bit more.
JB (4) 1 O’Brien & Poulova’s Dalstar Boney M by Edbrios, super young bitch with class written all over her, longest of heads, good ears. Would like a bit more strength in foreface. Sound & superbly presented, one with quite a future;
2 Davani’s Kerrydom Court Keeley at Kebulak, not quite as ready as 1 but lots to like about her. Good outline, nice in head though not the length but moves good in profile;
3 Davani’s Kerrydom Court Keeley at Kebulak, mature bitch, moves well in profile. Slightly heavier in head than above but has good outline, good coat texture. I feel a bit more tailoring might suit her better.
1 Ensell’s Nemiah Born Of An Angel, not a big bitch but well put together, the soundest in this class. Still a little dark but sure she is starting to change. I just wish her tail was not so gay but her outline was good. Short in back & good reach of neck;
2 Somers’ Dogazzas Modus Operandi, nice bitch, a bit more on leg but nicely balanced & I thought she might win at the start of the class but she just wasn’t as settled as my winner. Nice bitch who really looked the part;
3 Earle & Kelly’s Dollash Razzle Dazzle Em, not quite as mature as two above but when she is really will go well. Long clean head, uses ears really well, moves OK, OK for size & type.
1 Davies’ Perrisblu Kennislains Chelsey, a bitch I judged as a youngster & did well for. Delighted to see her looking so good. Not overdone anywhere, so feminine, sound & free moving, fabulous coat & colour, one for the upper house. When it came to the challenge I still felt she needs a bit more maturity but well worthy of the RCC;
2 Linsdell’s Lunabrook Pennylane, nice bitch I have admired before, nice to go over, lovely coat & colour, sound, good in head & expression, straight front, not overdone anywhere & her handler had her in great coat & condition;
3 Clarke O’Neill’s Lemracdream Memphis Belle, this handler obviously didn’t realise the 3rd here gets a critique but of memory think she may be of a larger size to those above but of a nice overall balance.
OB (3,1) 1 Averis & Scawthorn’s Ch Sharp N Shocking of Irisblu, super bitch who I have obviously seen before but never had my hands on. Lovely to go over, lovely coat & colour, lovely outline, sound coming & going, superbly presented. I just loved her. CC & BOB. She looked good in the strong group & had many admirers;
1 Wilcox’s Sharnna Lee, good size, handled beautifully by her young handler, sound & free moving, in super coat & colour, nice to see a Kerry doing well in this class.
