Judge(s): MR N CONNELL (SONORRA) LAKELAND JUDGE BORDER UNION 12 LAKELAND TERRIER I would like to thank the committee from the Border Union Agricultural Society for their invitation to judge Lakeland terriers. The weather was not kind on the day and the exhibitors are to be congratulated on maintaining the presentation of their exhibits. OD(1) 1 Davanis' Kebulak Man After Midnight. Well balanced dog with a typical head which is refined whilst maintaining masculinity, correctly shaped eye and used his ears to project a typical expression. Reachy neck flowing into well angulated shoulders, excellent front assembly and good feet. Nice spring of rib, short coupled and a level top line with a well set tail, moved soundly both fore and aft. Presented in pristine condition and shown to a high standard. CC, his third.Congratulations to his owner and handler. PB(3) 1 Whitehead's Stanstead Red Devil. Typy puppy of a nice size and balanced outline, good head with correctly placed eyes and ears, correctly angulated shoulders, level topline, well developed quarters. Moved soundly both ways and presented in good order. BPIB. 2 Mackenzie's Goldens Uldale Plover. Stronger headed than first, good length of neck, level topline, well set tail, well presented, moved soundly fore and aft. 3 Rougvie's Eskwyre Hustle "N" Bustle To Turflindie. JB(3,1) 1 Baldwin's Robelroy Lika. Very pretty bitch that is extremely stylish and ultra feminine. Decent head with a good foreface which is proportionate to her skull, correctly placed eyes and ears. Reachy neck which flows into a text book front assembly, good spring of rib, very short coupled, level top line with a well set tail and quarters which are nicely angulated. Moved very soundly both fore and aft and was presented to a high standard, RCC. 2 Johnston's Oregill Oprah. A young bitch I have previously admired from the ringside and she was very unlucky to meet first. Good head, with nicely placed eyes and ears, elegant neck flowing into well placed shoulders, nice front, level top line with a good tail set, well developed quarters. Moved true both fore and aft and was presented and handled to a very good standard. It was a very close decision but I preferred the outline and shorter coupling of the winner. PGB(2) 1 Whitehead & Munro's Stanstead Dita Von Teese. Most beautiful headed bitch which is so refined and typical, great expression attributed by her well set eyes and ears. Good length of neck flowing into nicely set shoulders, straight front, level topline, well angulated quarters and a correct tail set. Lovely bitch in all departments but was not putting it all in today. 2 Anderson's Corrievackie Opal. Well set eyes and ears and a strong punishing foreface, level topline and well muscled quarters. Correct textured jacket and handled well. LB(2) 1 Johnston's Oregill Celtic Rose. Nice size with a good outline, decent head with nicely placed eyes and ears, good reach of neck into nicely angulated shoulders, level topline with a good tail set, shapely quarters which are well muscled. Moved true both fore and aft and presented in great order. 2 Anderson's Corrievackie Opal. OB(4, 1) 1 Cartwright's Am &Eng Ch Saredon Midnight In Blue. I have watched this bitch from the ringside who on occasions may appear a little fancy and extreme for some, however, I was pleasantly surprised on handling her as she is so typical of the breed in her balance and conformation. Lovely flat skull which is refined and in proportion to her foreface, great expression emanating from her typically placed eyes and ears, reachy neck which flows into very well placed shoulders, level topline, short coupled with a correctly set tail. Well angulated quarters which are well developed. Moves ultra soundly both fore, aft and effortlessly from side profile. Put down to the minute and expertly handled to win the CC & BOB and Group 2. Well done 2 SchonebergMieth's Tenny. Another typical bitch with a good head, eye and ear, lengthy neck, good front, topline and quarters. Presented to a high standard and moved soundly both ways, unfortunately she was not putting all in to her performance today. 3 JohnstonOregill In The Buff. Nick Connell |
