LAKELAND CRUFTS 12 Lakeland Terrier Judge(s): MR R PUNTER
The line up for the Dog CC Challenge was really quite impressive – The Lakeland entry might have been lacking in numbers but certainly not in quality. 1. Davani’s KEBULAK MAN AFTER MIDNIGHT Nice outline and settled into moving quite well. Won on head and ears. 2. Ashe’s EBROOKS RED ROBBO Not a bad dog with a good front and pretty good outline but rather short in head and ears tending to fly. 1. Mieth’s MIETH`S TOBY Like him a lot though a bit erratic on the move. Particularly noted good neck and stifle bend but good overall. 2. Burgoine & Woodward’s OREGILL FULL STEAM bit shy and didn’t show to advantage which is a great shame for his young handler as he is a nice type. 3. Walker’s CHINACLAY PERFECTION Black. Sorry to have to say that I just couldn’t get passed his head as it’s rather large and round. 1. McCallum’s GLENTOPS BACK IN TIME In the best of coat and looked the part in all respects. 2. Leadbeater & Kerrigan’s LEADSTAFFS SENSATION. A dog I like a lot, very good bite with all incisors correct and that can’t be said for all exhibits today, but seems to have gone of being shown and just would not put his ears up which rather spoilt his expression. 1. Schoneberg’s CH NUJAX RISING SUN AT SAREDON Beautifully proportioned with the most balanced of outlines, the top line has the slightly arched reachy neck blending into the well laid back shoulders followed by a level back and tail bang on top with plenty behind it. Looking underneath he is square with moderate body length completely in proportion to his legs. Well bent stifle and hocks low to ground. Could be used as a model for the standard. Refined head with flat planes. Correct bite all six lower incisors lock underneath upper. CC BOB. 2.Barker & Averis’s SAREDON MACK THE KNIFE. Unlucky to meet the winner, just a little too compact in the body to be my complete ideal Lakeland but otherwise extremely well constructed. Presented and handled to perfection.RCC. 3. Alloway’s CAN CH NORTHCOTE'S NO DOUBT Lot to like about this dog but rather too heavy across the shoulders to win in this company. 1. Anderson’s CORRIEVACKIE GARNET SHCM Good to see a very nice typical Lakeland qualifying for the good citizen award. 1. Ashe’s EBROOKS RED ROSE Promising if continues to mature along same lines. Moved well. 2. Johnstone’s OREGILL OPRAH Black. Rather light in bone and body, front feet turning outwards slightly. Skittish on the move. 1. Steemstone’s BROCOLITA RED HOT DIVA Very well balanced and nice to put hands on. Excellent mouth and movement were deciding factors. RCC 2. Whitehead & Monro’s STANSTEAD DITA VON TEESE Nice typical Lakeland, bit erratic on move. 3. Hickman’s SONORRA WITCHES BREW Just fails because of rather straight stifle. 1. Beerton-Delarbre’s SCAFELL PIKE'S IRONLADY Worthy winner very sound and typical Lakeland 2. Burgoine & Woodward’s JELLIROLL LADY LUCINDA Not so good in Neck as Winner but sound and typical enough. 1. Mason’s RAFINGHAM MAGIC STORM Generally a first rate quality bitch but could do with slightly more length to front legs to achieve perfect balance. 2. Anderson’s CORRIEVACKIE OPAL Overall well balanced and typical Lakeland in all respects. 1.Cartwright’s AM CH SAREDON MIDNIGHT IN BLUE 2. Similar comments to BOB apply and won CC fairly easily. Head trimming rather overdone for a Lakeland but even discounting trimming preferred head of BOB. 2. Averis & Hjelm’s FIN CH SAREDON RUBY RED Particularly noted good neck and shoulders. 3.Davani’s KEBULAK SWING ON A STAR Nice enough bitch but rather longer cast than winner. 4. Anderson’s CORRIEVACKIE OPAL Judge(s): MR R PUNTER |
