LAKELAND JUDGE CRUFTS 14

Lakeland Terriers

My thanks to the exhibitors who supported me & made the day a special one, the overall quality & presentation was to a very high standard: the classes were very close to the point where very minor differences separated the first three places.

PD (5)

1 Johnston’s Louieville Making Waves, b/t dog, typical Lakie head, correct ears, well balanced head with good dentition. Straight clean front, nice reach of neck into well laid shoulders, short coupled with a good tailset, good angulation which resulted in good movement around the ring. Maturity when it comes will complete the picture. RCC & BP;

2 Kilsund & Hunt’s Big Ladys Micro-Invader, flat skull, dark eye, good scissor bite, straight front with good shoulder placement, nice spring of rib, level topline. Harsh coat, good overall angulation, just preferred the movement of 1;

3 Connell’s Sonorra Fiery Jack, red dog, on his toes, compact, good angulation, well balanced front, level topline, harsh jacket, good tailset with plenty behind the tail, did not settle on the move which cost him a much higher place.

JD (3,1a)

1 Hjelm’s Big Ladys Micro-Intruder, b/t dog, nice square shape, well placed ears, good dark eye, good dentition, shoulders well laid back with a good spring of rib, strong muscular hindquarter, would have preferred a harsher coat, won the class on movement but did not settle on the move during the challenge;

2 Stone’s Ellenside Allmost Legal, a lot to like with this dog, balanced dog, pleasing outline, dark eye, good scissor bite, head of good proportions, nice front, had the harsher coat of the two, level topline, well presented & handled, did not move as he should on the day which cost him higher placings.

PGD (4)

1 De Munter-Uiterwijk’s Kingfisher Van Foliny Home, compact dog with good proportions, typical Lakeland head, flowing neck into well placed shoulders, short coupled, tail on top, plenty behind the tail, won the class on his better movement, would have liked more angulation on the rear;

2 Nightingale’s Oregill Shadow Kissed, slightly larger dog, masculine head which was well balanced, nice ears, dark eye, good dentition. Nice neck line into well sprung ribs, more leg furnishings would have completed the picture;

3 Ross-Johnson’s Luble Bomerang Barbel at Monsoonmoon, another nice dog with a lot to offer, skull needed to be cleaner, dark eye, good scissor bite, balanced front, level topline, good angulation, harsh well presented coat, threw away a higher place with erratic movement.

LD (2)

1 Sinyak’s Rus Terrier Cardenal Lars, red dog, clean flat skull, well placed ears, nice shape eye. Powerful jaw, good dentition, in very good coat & presentation, slightly longer cast than the others, won the class on movement;

2 E Allmost Legal.

OD (2)

1 Drysdale’s Aust Ch Louieville Red Sky, mature red dog, masculine head with excellent proportions, good pigmentation, nice clean front, good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, balanced front quarters, good spring of rib, short coupled, tail bang on top, excellent angulation, kept his topline level on the move, one of the best movers on the day. CC & BOB;

2 Canty’s Ch Chelines Hot Thing, b/t dog, pleasing outline, balanced head, good scissor bite, well placed ears, good reach of neck, slightly longer cast than 1, preferred the front of 1.

GCD (1) 1

L Bomerang Barbel at M, moved far better in this class with no distractions.

JB (3,1)

1 Burgoine & Woodward’s Ralpina Follow The Rainbow to Jelliroll, grizzle bitch, good size, feminine head, clean skull, good mouth, nice spring of rib, level topline, good harsh coat, nice angulation, well presented & handled. Won the class on front & movement;

2 Gallett’s Cadenhongs Celtic Dreamer, well presented bitch of good proportions, good overall angulation, nice reach of neck, good rib, level topline when stood, harsh coat. Was not happy on the move, flew her ears while moving.

PGB (4,1)

1 Whitehead’s Stanstead Red Devil, overall good proportions, with a balanced front & good angulation. Correct ear placement with a feminine head, nice reach of neck, strong loin, has potential with better leg furnishings & presentation;

2 Rougvie’s Eskwyre Hustle n Bustle to Turfindie, smaller compact bitch. Well proportioned head, large black nose, good scissor bite, clean neck, good angulation, harsh well presented coat, lost the class by being unsettled on the move;

3 Duhig’s Robelroy Reseda, well presented bitch, broad muzzle, needed to be cleaner in the skull to complete the feminine look, dark eye, good pigmentation, straight forelegs, good bone, level topline, good furnishings, well handled but was unsettled on the move.

LB (3)

1 Alek Sashina & Sinyak’s Rus Terrier Cardenal Linda La Reina, I did like this bitch a lot, & when lined up with the dog for the BOB made an excellent match, superb outline, excellent balance & angulation, balanced reach of neck into well laid shoulders, good rib, short coupled, tail on top, strong hindquarters which gave excellent drive on the move, good bend of stifle & low hocks, good quality coat. Would have secured the top spot if the front leg furnishings had not given the appearance of being wide in the front which she clearly was not. CC;

2 Ryan’s Kebulak Smoke And Mirrors, another top quality bitch, unlucky to meet 1, I have no doubt will take top honours, feminine head, good ears, excellent angulation, well put down & handled, I just preferred the front of 1;

3 Baldwin’s Robelroy Lika, b/t bitch with many good attributes & unlucky to be in a very strong class, good shoulders, short coupled, good tailset, excellent angulation, harsh jacket with good furnishings, size, balance & angulation her strong points.

OB (7,3)

1 Averis, Malzoni & Barker’s Saredon Don’t Stop Me Now, good size, balance & angulation. Very feminine head, clean skull, dark eye & good mouth. Clean front & shoulder, short coupled, level topline which she kept on the move. Well turned stifle with low hocks, excellent presentation, moved well around the ring to win this class but was not 100 per cent happy on the move in the challenge. RCC;

2 Savini’s Ch Kebulak Moondance, very similar bitch to 1, preferred the front construction of 1;

3 Kilsund & Hunt’s Loislane Van Foliny Home, b/t bitch, unlucky to meet the other two. Very well presented, good neck, level topline, good tailset with plenty behind, preferred the ears of the other two.
