LAKELAND CRUFTS 22 Lakeland Terrier - Judge: Mrs Z Thorn Andrews VD (1) 1 Mathias’ River Spirit Of Dapperdax. BV. Really admired his head and expressive dark eyes. Neat small ears, carried just right on skull. Ok in front and he is a precise mover front and rear. Tail set well. Reasonable coat and he is well muscled too. 1 Anderson & Watt’s Louieville Nadal At Nisyros. BP. Smart, good for size, liked his head, muzzle strong and not too long. Rather upright in shoulders and turns his legs and feet outwards standing. Well bodied up for age, tail set bang on top. Coat rather inbetween stages at present. 1 Anderson & Watt’s Nisyros Rough And Ready. A trifle tall perhaps, lovely outline moving keeping a firm backline. Good front, bone, and tidy small feet. Excellent topline, and he is short coupled. Moved well all round. Temperament can still strengthen more on going over him on the table. 1 Clayton’s Nisyros Cappuccino. Correct size and balance. Ideal head, and strength of muzzle. Neat ears set well, moves a little too wide coming towards. Deep enough and not too wide in chest, so it wasn’t that causing his front movement. Excellent topline and quarters. Coat in good nick, and lovely pigment throughout. 2 De Munter-Uiterwijk’s Sir Digby Van Foliny Home. Another nice dog, pleasing head and size. Splendid topline hard as a rock, rear good too, and moving he comes towards you straight as a die. Unsettled on the table and would like him to have handled better. 3 Schoeneberg’s Diplomat von Den Schönen Bergen. 1 Schoeneberg’s Northcote’s Isn’t That The Way. CC, BOB, + Gr 2. Certainly my star of four days judging. Numbers are not everything and this small entry of terriers still produced a really outstanding Lakeland. Pleased to see him go second in the tough Group later on. He is a good size, has the most lovely head and deep pigment, is an accurate, precise mover, well bodied but not too wide in chest. Powerful rear drives him round the ring. Excellent coat texture, perfectly presented, well muscled too. 2 Schoneberg’s Ch Paperman Terra Wortmann. RCC. Smart, well handled to present him at his best. Also correct size, and short coupled. Not quite the pigment of above, and stands wide in front. Moves perfectly in rear, coat immaculate and weatherproof too. 3 Hetherington’s Richie Rich Van Foliny Home. 1 Whitehead, Graham & Thorpe’s Stanstead Hakuna Matata. CC Promising junior, maybe a little over broad in chest and ribbing for this breed, but I think a diet will rectify that, as she is carrying plenty of weight in her middle piece. Absolutely sound on the move both ways, and holding a steady topline in profile. She is beautifully muscled up. Pleasing head and pigment. Great temperament too. 1 Clayton’s Sunnily Tenacious Piper At Northdrum. Not a good class! Winner has good pigment, feminine, yet still quite strong in head and muzzle. A little upright in front and runs up in topline somewhat. Good behind and excellent hard coat. 2 Gibson’s Dapperdax Holly. A nice bitch for make and shape but far too big and she is a little doggy. Lovely temperament & showing her socks off, moving true. 3 Pirkova’s Sunnily Thunder In Heart. 1 Mathias’ Amadayus Pandora Of Dapperdax. Good foreface, a bit too thick in backskull, strong neck, absolutely true coming and going, deep enough, but ribcage a little too “sprung”. Good set on of tail, and she has a hard coat. Top size for a bitch. 1 Ryan’s Ch Laketrix Jazz Hands. RCC. Bang on for size and although feminine she is still quite a strong girl. Front and rear angulation, good, I liked her head, eyes set well forward and not to the side. Ears too are carried well. Good legs, and feet are small and tight. She dips in the topline which cost her the top award, tail set bang on top. Coat texture hard, and not in need of the spray all over it. 1 Gibson’s Dapperdax Holly. |
