I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge in place of our USA judge Mr Alfred Ferruggiaro who unfortunately could not travel, also the exhibitors for their super entry.

1 Bailey-Mathias Dapperdax Derwin. A young dog with a pleasing head, good bite, nice eye, good shoulders, a shade longer in body than I like but he is still young, he moved well, just needs more training to settle.
2nd place withheld.

1 Johnston Oregill Black Jack. The best black I’ve seen, he could be up to size but he makes a very nice picture, lovely head, dark eye, good shoulders, nice neck and he moves well when he wants to.
2 Roughvie Turflindie Diamond Dealer. This is a dog the hands tell you when you go over just how nice he is, he has the best of heads, lovely neck, nice shoulders, short back, tail on top, he is in fact well balanced, not in the best of coat today unfortunately.
3 Clayton Nisyros Cappuccino.
LD (3)
1 Anderson & Watt Nisyros Somersby. Not the biggest dog but he is sound and as the standard says not exceeding 14.5 inches which I am sure a lot do, I will not hold his size against him. He has a nicely balanced head, good ears, dark eye, good neck, short back, nice tail set, good strong quarters which he used when he moved, his coat was the hardest.
2 Vickers, Punter & Dams Jodean Picasso. A bigger dog, nice outline standing with good reach, short back, just lost on movement on the day. 3 Turfindie Diamond Dealer.
OD (2)
1 Schoneberg Ch Paperman Terra Wortmann. What a lovely red dog, the best of heads, neat ears, nice dark eye, lovely compact body in good coat as you would expect from this handler, he showed well, good quarters, nice low hocks which gives him drive, moved true both ways. I was pleased to award him the CC.
2 Johnston Oregill Hot Pursuit. A nice dog not in his best bib and tucker has the best of heads, good shoulders, short back, nice tail set, in fact he is a lovely dog just needs putting in shape and handling to give him the chance he deserves, I like him a lot.

1 Burgoine Jelliroll Mudlark Venus. A good coated bitch who was enjoying her day out, a neat head, a little long for me but moved well.

1 Johnston Mr A Oregill Golden Child. What a little stunner, red girl, took my eye as she entered the ring she is so well balanced, lovely head with nice flat skull, good neck into well laid shoulders and strong back. She made such a lovely picture when stood and she moved well when her handler was able to calm her enthusiasm, I shall follow her show career with interest. Res CC Best Puppy Bitch.
2 Clayton Sunnily Tenacious Piper at Northdrum (imp SVK) A young girl with a decent head, longer cast than winner but needs to settle to show her assets.

1 Vickers, Punter & Dam Jodean Mona Lisa. A nice short back bitch with good shoulders, nice quarters, in good coat and showed well, just a little strong in cheek for me.
2 Rougvie Nyamindi Spring Song. Longer cast than one but a lot to like about her, she has a good head and neck, nice coat, didn’t move as freely behind as I would like.
Novice Bitch (3)
1 2nd place in Junior Bitch.
2 Gibson Dapperdax Holly. A nice bitch with a good head and front assembly, would like a slightly shorter back but has good quarters and moved well, good coat and trimmed well.
3 Burgoine Jelliroll Puddle Duck.
PGB (2)
1 2nd in Novice Bitch.
2 Down Kelda Dartmoor Diamond at Brulyn. A girl who was enjoying her day out trotting around the ring in good style but she needs to lose some weight to show her self correctly.
LB (6) 1 Davani Kebulak Fake. Lots of like about this bitch, lovely head, eyes and ears which she uses, long neck into good shoulders, nice front, correct length of back, tail on top. Showed well just lost on hind movement today for the CC.

An outstanding red beautiful make and shape, lovely head, nice flat skull and expression, reachy neck into well laid shoulders, nice straight front, strong body, tail bang on with good firm quarters which showed in her movement. Made a lovely picture all round. I was pleased to award her the CC and Best of Breed.

The Lakeland Terrier Club Championship Show 2 17th July 2021 STAKES CLASSES
Many thanks to the exhibitors that stayed to support the stakes classes at the end of a long and very hot day. I found this entry particularly enjoyable to judge as I have not previously seen any of the dogs present before and had some quality exhibits. In both dogs and bitches I found hind quarters were generally much better than fronts.
Class A: Special Award Open Dog (7, 2)
1st Johnson’s Oregill Black Jack Quality up to size black male, real showman with ring presence, very much on the tip-toe of expectation and making the most of himself at all times. Beautiful head, super flat and clean backskull with well-set ears of correct size combined with a wonderful dark and expressive eye. Good dentition. Good neck and correct ribbing extending well back. Good hindquarters with correct angulation and a well-set tail. Good drive from the rear and pleasing profile movement.
2nd Rougvie & Everard’s Jodean Rembrandt Another up to size and showy dog making the most of himself. Black and tan with a jacket of good texture. Good head and expression, Nice eye and well-set ears. Nice ribbing extending well back. Well-muscled hind quarters with a good turn of stifle and plenty behind the tail.
3rd Rougvie’s Turflindie Diamond Dealer
Class B: Special Award Open Bitch (8, 2)
1st Ryan’s Laketrix Jazz Hands Absolutely beautiful black and tan bitch of ideal size and perfectly balanced throughout. Presented in first class order with a lovely harsh jacket. Wonderful flat and clean skull with beautiful eye and ear giving a classic Lakeland expression. Lovely dentition with teeth set square to the jaw. Loved her neck leading into well set shoulders. Correct width across chest, lovely ribbing extending well back. Well-muscled hind quarters with a well-set tail, nice angulation through the rear perfectly matching her front. Particularly pleasing small and compact feet. Nice moving bitch from all angles, excelled in profile movement. Would take her home in a heartbeat.
2nd Johnson’s Oregill Golden Child Very pretty red puppy. Loved her terrier spirit and attitude in the ring, standing her ground to the older bitches in the ring, so nice to see in a puppy. Fair head with a pleasing eye and expression. Good dentition. Correct width through the front. Appropriate body for her age. Wonderful hind quarters with a well-set tail and an impressive shelf behind. Good movement once she settled to the task in hand.
