Although not a large entry there was certainly quality with some promising youngsters. Hopefully they will help lift this lovely breed out of the doldrums. I found some dogs were lacking the characteristics typical of this breed. I am looking for a bold, happy dog with a keen expression and on its toes all of the time. Not always present but very important. Bites were correct and presentation was of a good standard.

PD (1)

1. Vickers, Dams & Punter Jodean Dallas, a dark grizzle, just over 9 months old. Head well balanced, dark eye, well placed ears and of correct size. Good reach of neck and lay back of shoulder. Level top line with tail on top. Shown in first class condition. Needs to grow on but at only 9 months old I think that will come. Very promising. BP

JD (1)

1. Averis & Barker Saredon Redemption, red grizzle of nice size, well balanced and of good substance. Clean well balanced head giving the keen expression you look for in this breed. Good reach of neck and shoulders well laid back with level top line. Excellent coat and very well presented. Moved well and good showman. CC & BOB

LD (1)

1. R Pearce (handling for) A Touch of Foliny, a smart black & tan, good overall balance and correct size. Dark eye, level top line with tail on top. Good rear angulation. Moved and showed well.

OD (4,1)

1. Vickers, Dams & Punter Jodean Captain Pugwash, a grizzle of good proportions and shown in excellent coat. Clean well balanced head and pleasing expression, dark eye. Shoulders well laid back. Powerful quarters with tail well set on. Moved with drive. RCC

2. Alloway, Wendling & Schoneberg Northcote’s Isn’t That The Way, shorter coupled than 1. Very well presented and in good coat. Good reach of neck with shoulders well laid back. Strong hindquarters. Moved well behind but a little close in front.

PB (4,1)

1. Averis & Barker Saredon Portrait, black & tan, correct size, substance and overall balance. Pleasing head and expression, dark eye with well-placed ears. Promising puppy who showed well.

2. Anderson & Watt Jodean Chicago, smaller type than 1 and I would like a little more substance. Nicely placed ears and shown in good coat. Moved okay.

JB (1)

1. Clayton & Clayton Sunnily You Love Me For Lokilake (Imp SVK), nice size. Ears a little erratic and need to settle, dark eye. Jacket at the in-between stage. A little fine for me, would just prefer a little more substance. Moved okay

LB (2,1)

1. Vickers, Dams & Punter Jodean Mary Rose, clean well balanced head with correctly placed ears and dark eye giving that keen expression. Good reach of neck and level top line. Straight front. Overall well balanced and on her toes. In good coat and well presented. Moved well both ways. CC which I understand is her third. Congratulations.

OB (1)

1. Schoneberg Fantasie Vd Schonenbergen, red grizzle of nice size and good substance. Feminine head and dark eye but would prefer better ear placement. Powerful hindquarters, tail well set on and moved with drive. Well presented. RCC
