NORFOLK JUDGE LKA 12

NORFOLK TERRIER

Thank you all for a lovely entry. I enjoyed my judging and having the privilege to handle some outstanding Norfolk's. When I first started showing and judging Norfolk's you never had to worry about bite or well angulated hind quarters as you rarely saw anything else. However now these qualities are hard to find. The grooming and coat preparation has excelled and Norfolk and Norwich don't look like the poor relation in the Group. But in some cases the use of products is being a little over done making it even more important to get your hands on the dog to properly to assess it.

MPD (3,1)

1 Newton's Strathinver Red Enough. Well grown, in good coat of correct texture. Short compact body lovely head and dark well shaped eye and well placed ears. Moved soundly both ways. 2 Phillips' Blakens Pop the Corks. Made a nice outline on the move. And is a quality puppy, preferred the stronger head on 1st.

PD (2,1)

1 Newton's Strathinver Red Enough.

JD (4,3)

1 Craddock & Collins. Fontanesi Golden Chalice. A very smart young man. In lovely coat, short compact body with good bone and a gorgeous head and expression. Moved soundly keeping a lovely topline, showing all of the time.

PGD (2)

1 Simpson's Umbrage Longton cum Megalax. Strong masculine boy in lovely coat, well balanced and good bone. Moved very well striding out round the ring. Not always taking notice of his handler.

2 Rayner & Healey's. Different type to 1st but was very a very close decision. Had all the essentials, he showed wonderfully, preferred the bone of 1st.

LD (5)

1 Newton's Strathinver Smart Enough. Really liked him, good honest Norfolk, wonderful red harsh coat that I could feel had NO products in it. Strong head and dark correct shaped eye. A jaw that was big enough to fit a full set of teeth in a scissor bite. Correctly proportioned front and hind quarters, so he could move soundly. Res. CC.

2 Ackling's Ruby Rueben. Beautifully groomed and impeccable show man. Compact body and a nicely proportioned head, but a little round in the eye.

3 Smith's Javidel May Just Have Too.

OD (4,1)

1 Phillips, Gullick, Wilding. Ch. Jaeva Made In Gold. My notes just said Gorgeous. A lovely dog with all that is required, correctly made throughout, was really on form showing and moving beautifully. Groomed to perfection and he was showing his lovely temperament all the time. CC. and BOB.

2 Atkinson's Moortop No Choice. Super dog in lovely coat, good bone and well angulated hind quarters. Show well. A little wide in front.

3 Philip's Nordalset Look Out for Me.

MPB (10,4)

1 Gee's Watercroft Top of the Pops. She stood out in this class, well made and correctly proportioned body, lovely bone, well laid shoulders and nicely angulated. Such a lovely head and expression and a good mouth. Showing herself off beautifully. Best Puppy.

2 Smith's Javidel Definitley May Be. Very appealing B/T lovely textured coat and moving soundly, she just needs a little more time to develop in head.

3 Darnell's Watercroft Cherry on the Top.

PB

1 Smith's Javidel Definitley May be.

2 Stevenson's Brickin Play Away. Mature young lady in great coat, nice head and good mouth. Not moving that well today.

JB (7,3)

1 Craddock & Collins' Fontanesi Golden Twist. Could not be denied her 1st here even though she did play up a little. She has a good front and well angulated hindquarters. Short compact body excellent bone. Correct mouth and a lovely head and dark well shapes eyes.

2 Hurrion Villassa Cherry Ripple. So different to my winner as she just stood beautifully, trimmed to advantage and really looked the part. Not the hindquarters of 1st and a little wide in front.

3 Simpson's Tegwani Dream at Megalex.

PGB (3)

1 Newton's Strathinver Reddy to Star. Short compact body lovely bone. Strong well angulated hind quarters and correct front. Good mouth and true terrier expression. Her coat was of correct texture and she showed herself off well.

2 Saltmarsh Pipridges Hazel. Not quite as compact as 1st but a lovely coat and showed and moved well.

LB (4)

1 Thompson-Morgan's Belleville Silk Slippers. I just love her; she is small but beautifully formed. She has everything. Lovely coat, great head and mouth, well angulated, correct front, and showed all the time moving soundly both ways. CC.

2 Gee's Watercroft Wedding Belle. Not really happy today. But she could not be denied her place here because she is really made well and has a lovely head and good mouth. Beautifully groomed.

3 Devereux Vichea Easter Lily.

OB (5,1)

1 Stevenson's Brickin Hop and Skip. Res. CC. Mature bitch in good harsh coat, moved and showed well, loved her head and expression, solid body and strong legs. A lot to like about her. Unlucky to meet the star of Limit.

2 Thomson & Morgan's Belleville Honey Nut Crunch. Another super little bitch with a lot to like, very showy, not in good coat today.

3 Gee's Watercroft Hot love.

VB (1)

1 Phillip's Nordalset Winter Woolies, sound little veteran. Not really looking like a veteran. In great coat. Good bone and correctly proportioned.
