AIREDALE JUDGE CRUFTS 17
I was an honour to judge Airedales at Crufts. Thanks to exhibitors for a great entry & thanks to my two competent stewards. In general eyes, tailsets, bone, condition & temperaments were good. My main concern was movement – so many had wide fronts with loose movement & were moving close behind with lack of drive. Also many exhibits were colour enhanced.
1 Moore’s Jokyl Time After Time, showing well standing alone, good head, neck & tailset, in good condition.
1 Gregg’s Bambusa Noble Aire, outgoing playful pup, good head, eye & ears, level topline with good set on, nice outline, in good coat & condition.
1 Nikulin’s Rus Kornels Krasarchik Teodoro, lovely young dog, upstanding, showy, good head, eye & ears with keen expression, good reach of neck into good shoulders, short level back, tail on top, hard coat, strong hindquarters with good movement;
2 Lee’s Stargeus Santa Rocks, also upstanding & showy, needed a tad more bodyweight, good head, ear carriage, neck & short level back, good set on, good bend of stifle & good outline;
3 Brennan’s Buddonwood Black Jack, longer in back than 2 but has a good head & neck, nice bend of stifle, tail on top, black hard coat & steady temperament.
1 Toulson’s Toulsyork Levity Lester, eyecatching showman, good head, eye & ears, good reach of neck, excellent tailset, well muscled hindquarters, would like firmer topline;
2 Ablard’s Katherine’s Land V.I.P Lover, smaller finer dog with good head, eye & ears, well laid shoulders, tail on top, steady mover;
3 Vanden’s Bosch Sirocco’s Pride Norvyn Skywalker, cobby dog, good head & ear carriage, good hard coat, very good bend of stifle.
1 Atkinson’s Jokyl Party Popper, very good length of head, good eye & ear carriage, level back, good bone & condition, hard jacket, showed well, good mover;
2 Jackson & Swash’s Jokyl Wish List, not quite as confident as 1, but head, eye, ears, neck & shoulders are good, tail well set & nice outline;
3 Collins’ Colldale Son Of Adventurer, nice head & eye but low set ears spoil expression, good hard coat, longer cast than 2.
1 Callon & Callon-Winn’s Ch Sonorra Christmas Cracker from Russtam, quality from all angles, super head, small dark eye, correct ear carriage, giving good reach of neck into well laid shoulders, keen expression, short level back, in good coat & condition, excellent tailset, good length of thigh with short hocks, sound mover, natural showman. CC & BOB;
2 Hill’s Ch Crillee Catch Of The Day with Gillaire, full of quality, good head, eye, ears, neck & shoulders, short level back, hard coat, tail on top, sound mover, good showman. RCC;
