It was an honour and pleasure to be asked to judge the 70th Championship Show albeit that I was standing in for Pat Crome (Tintara Airedales) who sadly could not fulfil her appointment.   I wish Pat a speedy and full recovery so we can again see her in the centre of the ring.   Thanks to the Committee for a well-run show at its new venue and to my able stewards David Jenkins and Chris Speed.

Special Aspirant D/B:
(1)

1. Edington-Hall’s Wendaire Kissed by an Angel.  Cobby b. that is up to size and looks very mature for a puppy. Excellent quality coat, presented well.  Head of good proportions and good eye and ear carriage giving good expression.   Moderate length of neck into a level topline and good tailset.  Nice rear angulation.  Slightly wide in front and on the move. Steady mover. Well-schooled showgirl, nicely handled.  Would prefer her more refined throughout.

Minor Puppy Dog:
N/E

Puppy Dog:
(3/1ab)

1.  Toulson’s Toulsyork Mettle Mason. Upstanding puppy of good size, full of character and temperament which tightens his outline.  Cobby. Well bodied, in good coat and condition. Good length of head, if a tad deep, with nicely shaped eye. Ear carriage could be higher but still had an alert expression. Good reach of neck into nice lay of shoulder. Relatively short back.  Good spring of rib.  Good rear angulation with low hocks. Full of himself which reflected in his bouncy movement.  BPiS.

2. Collin’s Colldale the Outlaw. Another nice pup, first time out so not as confident as 1.   Balanced head, nice eye and ear carriage OK.   Good coat and colour which was well presented.  Moderate length of neck into shoulder.  Could be a shade shorter and would like him to carry his tail higher, but this could come when he enjoys showing. Moved OK, if a bit hesitant.

Junior Dog:
(1).

1. Jackson & Swash’s Jokyl Wish List.  Nice cobby dog to go over. Balanced head with dark eye and good ear carriage giving good expression.  Nice reach of neck flowing into good shoulders and level back with high tailset. Good coat and colour. Good rear angulation. Nice steady movement going away and coming.  Would like him to enjoy his day more to make the most of himself.
