AIREDALE SKC OCT 21 Judge: Mrs M Johnston What a brilliant idea to organise two General Ch Shows to run concurrently. A brave decision that appeared to work extremely well. My thanks to the Committee for the invitation to judge a breed I have watched with interest for many years. On the day I was ably supported by my quietly efficient steward Angela and her young assistant. Temperaments throughout the entry were excellent and whilst I felt a few could have been trimmed to better advantage muscletone was good. The largest of the terriers I was still looking for refinement, some elegance and that undefinable asset of quality. 1 & RCC, Callon & Callon Winn’s Russtam Jax The Gentleman. 13 months and still some maturing to do. A little strong in scull but head of correct proportions, clean cheeks, good eye, strong muzzle excellent bite. Ears well placed and used. Pleasing reach of neck running into clean well laid shoulders, good legs and feet. Well ribbed, slightly weak in loin at the moment. Well angulated quarters with good tailset. Coat texture good as was presentation. Moved with drive but showing his immaturity as front action needs to firm up. Just needs time. 1 Toulson’s Toulsyork Rolo Coaster. Could be flatter in skull but head of correct proportions with good eye, well placed ears, strong muzzle with good bite. Decent reach of neck, I would prefer a better lay of shoulder.Well ribbed, firm topline with good tailset. Adequate hind angulation. Sound on the move showing drive but front action just a shade high stepping. Correct coat texture and well presented. 1, CC & BOB, Gregg’s Ch & Ir Ch Bambusa So Noble. Lived up to his name as came into the ring with attitude. Stood four square. Clean head with correct proportions, clean cheeks, well filled under good eye, strong muzzle, excellent bite. Lovely ear, though to be ultra critical, could use to better advantage. Good reach of neck leading into clean well laid shoulders, good legs and feet. Well ribbed, short coupled, firm topline with excellent tailset and carriage. Well angulated quarters, short hocks, Moved with drive and extension keeping balanced outline. Excellent jacket and presentation. 2 Averis & Barker’s Saredon JP Masterpiece. Shade heavy overall for me. Decent head, correct proportions with good eye, well placed and used ears, good bite. Decent reach of neck running into well laid shoulders. Could be better ribbed. Good tailset and moved with drive. Coat texture good. Sound on the move but needs to steady. 1 Collins’ Toulsyork King Lincoln. 7 years. Could be cleaner in scull, good eye, excellent bite, ears a trifle wayward. Nice reach of neck running into clean shoulders, ribbing ok but could be shorter coupled. Moved true keeping good outline just a shade close behind. 2 Webber’s Sherifs Red Hot ShCM. 9 years, decent head proportions with good eye,ear and bite. Clean shoulders but would prefer a better lay. Firm topline with good tailset, back movement a shade erratic. 1, RCC & BP, Ablard’s Jaydavine Story Of Love. Lovely head with correct proportions, good eye, well placed ears used to advantage giving super expression. Well filled under eye, strong muzzle good bite. Pleasing reach of neck running into clean well laid shoulders, well ribbed, firm topline with good tailset and carriage. Well angulated quarters matching her forehand. Good legs and feet, moved with drive and extension maintaining a balanced outline. Overall impressive and feel she will only improve with maturity. 2 Toulson’s Toulsyork Llinsaire Opal. Pleasing head of correct proportions, with good eye, ears and bite. Decent reach of neck, well ribbed, firm topline with good tailset and carriage. Good legs and feet, moved soundly. 3 Shield’s Shielmarh Fortuna Forseer. 1 Webber’s Kaolin Little Miss Sparkle. Clean head of correct proportions, ears a little heavy, good eye, excellent bite. Good eye, well filled under, strong muzzle, good bite. Clean shoulders, well ribbed, firm topline. Moved with purpose. 3 Bain’s Unique in All Ways of Malton (Imp NLD). 1 Steinke’s Toulsyork Perfectionist At Temtiz. Head of good proportions though a shade thick in skull, ear a little low set and this affects expression. Good reach of neck, well ribbed, firm topline good tailset. Could put more effort into movement but was sound. 2. Graham’s Thistleaire Touch Of Frost JW. Head of correct proportions, ears slightly heavy but well used. Good eye, strong muzzle excellent bite. Pleasing reach of neck, well ribbed, topline ok but tailset could be better.
