Airedale Terriers
A sincere thank you to the officers of the SWKA for my first appointment in the breed, and to my steward who helped all to run smoothly. Thanks also to the exhibitors for allowing me the privilege of going over their dogs.
I was particularly pleased generally with the quality of bites and teeth, the standard of presentation of all exhibits was excellent, and the approachability and confidence were not daunted by some uncomfortably loud and sustained messages over the public address system.
Junior Dog or Bitch (3 Entries, 0 Absentees)
1st: Mr & Mrs Keay's Jaymitch Zee One And Only. A very pretty 9 month bitch puppy, captivating expression, excellent mouth, good neck and lay of shoulder, and plenty of bone. Harsh coat and good colour. Although muscle tone and maturity are still to come, movement was good both coming and going. BP.
2nd: Messrs Hacker & Jenkins' Crillee What A Carry On At Sherifs. 8 month bitch puppy. Again very pretty, correct ear set and nice eye. Super in profile, short coupled, in perfect proportion with excellent depth of chest. A very close decision between 1st and 2nd.
3rd: Mr & Mrs Johnston's Oldiron Voodoo At Bravados.
Open Dog (1, 0)
1st: Mr & Mrs Johnston's Nedella Desert Flame At Bravados. Stood alone, but still showed with attitude. A well-toned 2 year old with plenty of drive. Nice head, although ears a little wayward on occasion. Good reach of neck into well muscled body and good tailset. Harsh grizzle jacket and plenty of bone. BD and BOB.
OB (4, 2)
1st: Mr & Mrs Keay's Jaymitch Jaunty Panachon. A sound 3 year old, good head and expression, good reach of neck into strong back and correct tail set. Harsh jacket of good colour. Plenty of bone, and well let down hocks. Moved well both ways. BB.
2nd: Mrs Simpson-Jones Nedella Amasing Grace. Good head and expression, although not the reach of neck of 1. Well muscled with plenty of substance. Good movement coming, if a little close behind. Good colour on harsh jacket. RBB.
