PARSON RUSSELL BORDER UNION 25 Judge: Mrs J Maxwell (Bardrestan) Thank you very much to the Committee of this super Show for the invitation to judge, especially on their Golden Anniversary. Despite the weather there was a great atmosphere around the wet weather rings and my thanks to the very efficient stewards. I was absolutely delighted with the final line up who all demonstrated excellent breed type I felt. JD (1) 1 Anderson and McAulay’s Foxfur Eavesdropper- white with tan puppy with wedge shaped head, shallow stop. Ears set allowing tip of ear to corner of eye. Shoulders a little forward, decent width in front, spannable, good leg to body length. A little rounded at croup but tail set high. Moved ok. BPD OD (2) 1 Baker’s Tusiquevales Kudos With Pacolito (Imp Ita) – these were two super dogs. This youngster not long out of puppy, but so mature. Eye catching without doubt and in harsh jacket. Flat skull, narrowing into strong jaw, muzzle slightly less in length than skull. Almond eye and correct earset. Clean neck and shoulder well laid, spannable.. Liked his proportions and low set hocks. Free moving and true. BD 2 Casson’s Ch Mindlen Hendricks at Cassjoebar – a worthy champion, also in dense jacket with masculine, well proportioned head. Spannable and workmanlike and moving with drive. I just preferred the body length of the winner. PB (3,1) 1 Baker’s Woodlincs Suoer Dooper – again two super exhibits. This wee lass at her first show I believe was confident and has something about her. White and tan, her head wedge shaped with almond eye., strong jaw. Ears set right and of good size, with good length to neck and well laid shoulders. Balanced in angulation. Perhaps a little longer in loin than 2nd but felt her tail set and front placement better. Moved so well, true fore and aft and free striding. BPB over her kennel mate as I felt she had a bit more width to head, BP and Puppy Group 4. 2 McCluskey and Young’s Heythrop Tempted to Chadbrook – another wee beauty with lots to like. Again, lovely head shape, feminine but strong in jaw. Good length to neck and pleasing body proportions. In close, broken coat with thick skin, workmanlike. She moved well too and with straight action. JB (2) 1 Robert’s and Murray’s Cassjoebar Caledonia From Mindlen – active and agile describes this confident and balanced neat young bitch, just out of puppy. Correct shape to head with shallow stop and dark eye of almond shape, Clean neck and throat, well laid shoulder and good proportions, front and rear angulation corresponding. All of a piece with spannable, well sprung ribbing, strong loin and well muscled. Super coat in good order, and loose skin. Fit and flexible, tail set high and moved with drive, straight and true.Love at first sight. BB and BOB 2 Baker’s Pacolito Going Fur Gold – lovely pup, well made, head could perhaps have a little more width but well made all through with good proportions, spannable and well ribbed. Strong loin and back. Moved covering ground Harsh jacket and well set tail. OB (4,1) 1 Baker’s Deglacobs Rebecca Riot by Pacolito JW – white and tan in super order, feminine but workmanlike all through. Liked her head shape and earset, dark almond eye and clean in throat, Shoulders laid back and spannable with ribs well back. Fit and strong, well set tail and good body to height ratio. Dense coat andgood skin. Moved true although inclined flip up front paws in front, moved a bit too fast perhaps. RBB 2 Robert’s and Murray’s Ch Mindlen Moccasin - really lovely bitch, whom I have done well before and I think she is of such super type. Not exaggerated in any way, balanced and well made.Super, well presented harsh, flat coat. Today she didn’t have her mind on the job at all and didn’t move as I know she can. Has to be on the day though. VB (2) 1 McCluskey and Young’s Chadbrook Elke VW – outgoing white with tan bitch with wedge shaped head, flat skull, nice reach to neck. Spannanble and of good body proportions and tail well set. Coat in super order. Just felt could do with slightly more bend to stifle. Moved with good length to stride. 2 Laird’s Mindlen Freyja at Drailam – eleven year old white with tan and black marking and ticking. Could perhaps do with a little more stop but dark almond eye.Well made in outline, just carrying a little extra weight today.Harsh coat with undercoat. Moving ok, not entirely sound today.
