PARSON JACK RUSSELL JUDGE BOSTON 11

PARSON RUSSELL TERRIER

My thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge at this show. Thanks also for the hospitality at lunchtime - an excellent meal. I was pleased with my winning dogs who fitted the standard well. As a general comment the majority of dogs were fit and in good condition although type varied considerably. Some entries lacked sufficient rear angulation to enable them to move across the ring with the required drive. All dogs were spannable.

PD (3,2)

1 Copping's Pagantail Plato At Rutaaro. 10 months, of correct size for age, with a well proportioned head, good bite of large teeth. Excellent front end construction, straight front and good lay of shoulder. Well ribbed back and with the correct rise over the loin. Fit and easily spanned. Rather straight at the rear.

JD (1)

1 Pell's Cassacre Sea Urchin At Olliebark, 14month tri, good body shape and size, well marked. Nice flat head, with well placed ears and good eye shape but bite could be tighter. Thick coat, fit, moving better at the front than rear.

OD (3)

1 Smith & Moon's Alncroft Blackthorn, 18 month tan/white. Smaller type with a beautiful head, strong jaw, muzzle and good bite of large teeth. Excellent straight, narrow front and neat feet. Correct rear angulation which he used to move well both front and behind. Good muscle and thick skin. Best Dog.

2 Swift & Parr's Spellbert Captain Jack , 19 months. Leggier type but with correct amount of bone. Good front, head proportions, bite and dark eye. Nice reach of neck and good length of body, strong loin, excellent tail set. Movement could be more positive. Reserve Best Dog.

3 Newport & Baker's Ratscallion Tactical Play

PB (3)

1 Smith & Moon's Alncroft In Gold - Only 7 months but her excellent flowing movement caught the eye as she entered the ring. Lovely size for age and she looked good all through. Excellent head, strong muzzle and good bite. Narrow front, neatest of feet, good shoulder and rear angulation. Super thick, harsh coat and skin. Will watch her progress with interest. Reserve Best Bitch & Best Puppy In Breed.

2 Swift & Parr's Pacolito Stowe - 7 month rangier type who needs time to mature. Correct bite, small ears, good length of neck, well ribbed back, nicely set tail. Movement very loose but should tighten with age.

3 Naylor's Kingpar Filia Ab Mater.

JB (2,1)

1 Minett's Princess Lilo, 13month tan/white. Nice type, typical head, dark eye and well placed ears. Good front, shoulder and rib shape. Harshest of coats, correct rear angulation and tail set. Moved steadily

PGB (4,1)

1 Dolman's Pacolito Phirstpick To Maxtay - 2 yrs tan/white. Correct bite with well placed small ears. Neat front with good length of neck, ribs carried well back, topline and tailset OK, spannable and in good condition. Handled well, won this as the best mover in the class.

2 Newport's Pacolito Premiere - 2 ? yrs. Smaller type, fit and well muscled. Bite OK but teeth rather small. Harsh tight coat, good topline and excellent straight tail well set on. Moved OK

3 Doyle's Ilexquercus Rosy Rustic

OB (6,2)

1 Rimmer's Kylini Mythnmist SHCM - 3 ? yrs broken coated. Well proportioned head of good shape, large teeth, strong jaw and dark eye. Straight front, neat feet, clean neck. Body just right for length and has good bend of stifle with correctly placed tail to give a balanced overall picture. Good action, moved freely and with purpose around the ring. Pleased to award her Best Bitch & Best Of Breed.

2 Collis's Ch Alncroft Tribute To Riplington - 4 yrs, has an excellent front end construction with super head, keen expression and true bite. Ears well placed, lovely depth of body, rib shape and tail set. Has the harshest of dense coat and thick skin. Just felt she needed to be more positive in rear movement.

3 Swift & Parr's Pacolito Picture Monkey
