PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 23

Bournemouth is always a friendly show and today was no exception. A big thanks to my wonderful steward Mathew, who kept the ring running smoothly. I was privileged to go over some good examples of the breed. The bitches have more strength in the breed, pleased to see some smooth coated parsons here today, as any breeder of Parson’s knows they are needed to keep the coats of good quality. Only a couple of had light eyes but many had small teeth, which is not what one wants in these terriers and breeding this out is a must.

1 Bigland’s Heytrop Tamar. Tri boy of great quality, Stunning head, dark eyes and strong muzzle. He had well shaped shoulders will pleasing front angulations. Good bone and neat feet. The Rib is flexible and easy to span. Good length of loin and correct rise finished by his tail set. He was good on the table despite the tannoy in the corner of the ring. Moved soundly with confidence. Well-handled to obtain Best Puppy. I look forward to seeing him when he matures.

2 Manson’s Foxfur Dreams To Reality. White Boy Lovely type a shame that the noise from speaker when on the table. His head is classic, with lovely dark eyes, very expressive. Good neck into shoulder assembly, front straight and true with good bone. Double pelt, jacket harsh. Dog of sound construction. Movement spoilt by the noise, but when he settled it was good. Another one for the future. The breed does need more good dogs.

JD (3,1)

1 Manson’s Vienview Valentino. This boy is great for size. He has a classic head, with well set ears dark eyes and keen. Strength in jaw with good mouth. Pleasing reach of neck into good lay of shoulder. Easy to span with flexible ribs. Thick loose pelt very harsh jacket, never get wet this one! Rear well-muscled with good turn of stifle. Held outline when on the move. Front a little loose still due to age, will tighten up and improve.

2 Biglands Heytrop Toptag. Smooth Tri boy. Pleasing head and expression Good to see a classic smooth coat. Reach of neck rather extended., but lovely shoulder placement and straight and true in front. Very easy to span. Taller and rangier than one. Movement is a little loose as one.

PGD (1)

1 Woods and Boorman’s Master Bobby Foxfur Newark. A happy dog, shown in full coat feet tight. Very unsettled on the table. Compact boy made his handler work hard today.

LD (4,1)

1 Boden’s Mindlen Machican In Chellowside. A Very smart and well-presented Tri Boy, super broken coat. Loved his head, beautiful eyes showing intelligence, thick leathers, strong teeth in strong jaw. True front into very tight feet well padded and up on his pasterns. Rib pleasing, length and rise of loin good showing lovely outline on the move. Great drive and covers the ground with ease, did his young handler proud. I would like to see him when he is fully matured, a champion in the making this one. Res DCC.

2 Pell’s Hoolmark Ringo Star At Ollibank. Another good dog from a good kennel. Dark Tri boy, broken coated. Great head shape, keen expression. Overall, well-constructed, moved out well covering the ground as a good Russell should. Up against a top dog today. Well handled.

3 Brown’s Aflinea Pale Tussock.

OD (2)

1 Hadley’s Int Ch Double Barrels Dream To Relity Very Smart White and Tan Boy. Shown in fit hard condition. Presented well, full of life. Ideal for size. Super head, bright dark eyes full of mischief. Big strong teeth set in a strong but not coarse jaw. Front straight with plenty of bone in legs down into tight feet. Rib of good length and very easy to span, flexible allowing movement if he was working in the field. Fit for purpose this one. Harsh double jacket. Hind angulation very good hocks of good substance and well let down. A real showman on the move. I see I gave him 1st in limit at Crufts when younger. He has matured well. DCC.

2 Collis’ Ch Riplington See Your Dreams. Tri Boy. Another lovely Parson more up on the leg than one but perfectly balanced. Classic head as one would expect from this kennel. Good broken coat, loose thick pelt. I found him not too easy to span today, carrying a bit of condition. Floated across the ground with that long stride of a true Parson.

VD (3)

This was a class of excellent veteran dogs who really know how to show themselves to the full.

1 Smith’s Digaden Top Hat And Tails The youngest in the class, a polished performance from a nice type of dog. Front still straight and strong. Pleasing shoulder placement flowing into well made body. Topline great when on the move with loose leash!

2 Newport’s Digaden Pitch Perfect. Another one from the kennel of winner. Still looking very fit and enjoying showing his socks off.

3 Blair and Handley’s CH Cleeve Hill Kasper (Bel Imp). A dog I loved from the past beginning to show his age and not spannable today, but still has his cheekier look in his eye.

SBD/B (2)

1 Wood and Boorman. Master Bobby Uk / Vixenview Gyspy Good type bitch. Nice proportions all round. Correct wedge head at 14 months still developing, but everything progressing well. Lovely movement, just a bit loose in front, this will tighten with age. Nice one. Very pleased to see her in the group ring.

2 Kannagara’s Paringer She’s A Queen Neat smooth girl. Dark eyes alert, but kind. Good feet. Moved sounding front and rear and well presented by her handler.

PB (3,1)

1 Baker’s Vixenview Witches Broom. Tan and white. What a lovely baby. Lots of Confidence on the table. Rough coated, good pelt and skin. Wedge head, correct stop eyes bright and dark. Big teeth. Nice reach of neck. Body of good proportion, length of loin ideal for bitch. She moved happily around the ring.

2 Levitt’s Proveits White Sally. Pretty white girl. She has a lot of developing to do. but type is good.

JB (2)

1 Ellesmere’s Digaden Jinnspritz Pleasing youngster. She is true to type, has a charming head, bright and alert expression. Front true, good feet. Good for size, well balanced for her age. Topline good on the move, showed well.

2 Woods and Boorman. Winner of SBD/B showed with even more confidence in this class.

PGB (4,2)

1 Biglands Heytrop Taranna. A quality bitch from this well-known kennel. Excellent for overall balance. Lovely head, thick leathers, darkest of eyes, she has strength but feminine. Good front and lay of shoulder. Flexible spannable rib, correct length of loin, hind angulation good, giving strong movement. Held topline on move with good tail set.

2 Hughes’ Ruffntuff Rush Of Love. This is a nice bitch. Classic head, keen expression but kind. She has many good points for type and construction just up against really strong opponent, but sure she will continue to improve in the ring.

LB (11,1)

This was a very strong class with many quality bitches.

1 Holland’s Dramalex She Is A Belter. Well named. Super showgirl who takes your eye when she enters the ring. She has all the qualities I was looking for in a Parson girl. A stunning head, wedge shape with lovely ear set. Eyes dark and alert. Good bite. Lovely clean lines throughout. Took this on movement from an excellent class. Res BCC.

2 Buckley’s Gonetoground High’n Mighty. She draws your eye to her, what a quality girl, she ran the 1st very close, it was a shame that the tannoy upset her when walking. She is beautiful and was handled so sympathetically. She is one that should go all the way.

3 Manson Vixenview Pearl Sugar. Making up a trio of lovely bitches.

OB (6,2)

1 Lynch’s Vixenview Miss Cash. What a stunner, smooth so what you see is what you get. A classic smooth, thick pelt and leathers. Head has strength but still feminine. Keen dark eyes. being a split face marked is not too many eyes appealing, but this Tan and white girl is lovely. She has an elegance when moving round the ring not often seen. A well boned girl with correct angulations front and rear. Giving good rise over her correct length of loin with well set tail completed the picture. Very pleased to award her BCC and BOB.

2 Nixon’s Gonetoground I Have A Dream She is also a quality Parson sired by the Dog CC winner and which I could see the likeness in the head and face. Great expression very dark eyes. Flowed well neck into front assembly. Legs straight and true into tight feet. Ribbing is good and very flexible, easy to span. Hind well-muscled allowing for strong drive from the rear. Very well handled.

VB (4)

1 Collis’ Riplington Dream Image. A classic Parson girl not showing her age, shown in fit condition which enhanced her lovely movement. Could see her Dam in her, another lovely girl from this small but select kennel.

2 Newports’ Digaden Made To Measure. At 8 years still enjoy showing. Nice head, front true. Spannable with a good waterproof jacket. Moved out with purpose sound going and coming towards. Nicely handled.

3 Newports’ Digaden Spill The Beans
