PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE DRIFFIELD 21

I would like to thank Driffield Championship Dog Show Society for inviting me to my first CC appointment, I would like to compliment the Society on their immaculate and well presented showground.

VD/B (5, 1)

1 Hooley’s Ch Hoolmark Belle Starr JW. 8 year old bitch in excellent hard condition, strong tan and white head, dark eye, full up to size dentition, well balanced angulations, tight feet, hard pads, dense broken coat, easily spanned and moved out well. BV.

2 Shelton & Shelton’s Boultmoor True Delight. 9 year old rough coated bitch, feminine head excellent flat skull with ear set to match, thick loose pelt, good rear angulation, moved well, spanned ok, carrying a little condition today.

3 Kannagara’s Sherosco Christmas Rose.

PD (1)

1 McCluskey’s Chadbrook Luthien. 11 months old, strong masculine head with keen expression, good front with a nice length of upper arm, good harsh coat, good size and spanned with ease, good length of tail and good tail set and moved well. A smart promising puppy.

JD (1)

1 Smith’s Chadbrook Havoc. 14 month old tan and white dog, I liked this dog very much very pleasing to go over. He is at the top end of the height but he could be spanned with ease, nice head, strong jaw, good dentition, well placed ribs with a rise over the loin into strong hindquarters. Moved well when settled. With a little more ringcraft and attention to his grooming I think this combination of young dog and novice handler will grow in experience together and have many successful show days in the future.

Sp YD (1)

1 Bowden’s Mindlen Mahican In Chellowside. Very smart tri coloured dog in hard, fit condition. Alert dark eye, spotless full dentition, strong clean jaw, good length of neck, chest well above the elbow, very spannable, good rear angulation and nicely balanced on the move, well handled and immaculately presented. RDCC.

PGD (2)

1 Newstead & Newstead’s Tophead Truffle. 2 year old dog, masculine head with correct ear set, full dentition, good length of back with a rise over the loin, plenty of coat, tight feet and hard pads, spanned ok. Slightly distracted in the ring and not focused on his handler.

2 Chaffe’s Bourbon Beatific Beast (Imp Cze). Tricoloured masculine head, compact type with a good thick strong pelt. Well muscled throughout and moved with drive.

LD (2)

1 McCluskey’s Chadbrook Sunfire. Another nice dog from this kennel, sire of 1st puppy dog and similar in type. 2 year old, masculine head, strong jaw, good dentition and ears, nice length of neck, well proportioned legs to body, good topline and excellent tail and rear angulations. Moved well and pushed hard for RDCC.

2 Hobson’s Partridgdale Little Rock. Tan and white, good looking dog, super head of correct proportions, balanced front and rear angulations with a rise over the loin, top end of the height and spanned ok, thick pelt and harsh coat. Moved well when settled.

OD (3, 1)

1 Smith & Smith’s Ch Heythrop Task Master For Alncroft. 4 year old dog of a pleasing size, eyecatching, workmanlike head, super dark eyes which sparkled from the moment he walked into the ring. Text book jaw and shallow stop, correct ear set and keen expression. Excellent length of neck flowing into the best of shoulders showing off his topline, slight rise over the loin to the perfect tail set and good length of tail. Tightest of feet with not a blade of hair between his hard pads. Spanned with ease and moved with balance, drive and showing all the attributes of a working terrier at their best. Turned out and handled to perfection. DCC, BOB. I would like to congratulate all connections of this dog who went on to take TG1.

2 Hooley’s Hoolmark Johnny Guitar. Tan and white, well groomed broken coated 4 year old dog, correctly proportioned head, best up to size dentition, dark eye. Good chest, tight elbows, clean ribs and well muscled hind quarters. A dog in excellent hard condition. Spanned and moved well.

PB (5, 1)

1 Newstead & Newstead’s Tophead Saffron. This 6 month old puppy entered the ring and caught my eye straight away in a lovely class of young bitches. Very elegant and feminine correct head, smoothest of topline, good length of rib, easily spanned. Nice length of upper arm and sloping shoulder and good rear angulation enabled her to move like a dream around the ring and she was so together for her age and nicely sympathetically handled at her first show. A very promising future and her first of many wins. RBCC, BP.

2 Young’s Chadbrook Affirmation. A very mature 10 month old bitch, strong type with plenty of bone. Strongest of heads with a keen expression, nice length of next and well proportioned body, spanned well, tight feet and moved well.

3 Holland’s Foxfur Capri.

PGB (4)

1 Newstead & Newstead’s Muhlross Magic Diamond. A good example of correct type coming through generations, this bitches daughter won puppy bitch. 2 year old, with feminine head, dark eye and super ear set, good length of neck and correct topline and tail. Easily spanned. Tight feet, balanced footfall and her movement won her this strong class.

2 Bowden’s Movie Star At Chellowside. Another quality bitch of excellent type, tan head, tidy front, correct length of back, clean ribs and good angulation at rear, would like to see a better second thigh, moved ok.

3 Kannagara’s Paringer She’s A Queen.

LB (7, 1)

1 Roberts & Murray’s Mindlen Mic Mac At Heythrop. Workmanlike 2 year old tricoloured bitch, lovely to go over, darkest of eyes, good dentition and jaw, good length of upper arm well placed shoulder, pleasing topline with a rise over the loin, strong rear with good depth of stifle. Spannable. Tight feet. Superb movement to win her class but movement let her down in the bitch challenge.

2 McCluskey’s Chadbrook Elka. A very close decision between first and second, lovely size, feminine head, slightly more upright angulations than first, harsh coat, moved well showing off her excellent tail and tail set.

3 Waugh’s Tribannon Dark Angel.

OB (4, 1)

1 Dayman & Cole’s Ch Pacolito Phinal Edition. A 4 year old bitch in tip top condition, hardest of muscles throughout and a fine example of a fit dog. Attractive dark tan head, keen focused expression, she did not take her eyes off her handler once throughout the judging, tidy ears and full dentition. Clean front of best proportions, easy to span, strong rear, low set hocks which showed off her well balanced movement with plenty of drive. Coarsest of coats with loose pelt, hard pads tight feet and good tail. A well handled, well groomed and well deserved CC in a top class line-up of unbeaten bitches. BCC, BOS.

2 Hobson’s Alncroft Isle See Finer. Feminine head of good shape, super broken coat, clean limbs, correct topline and moved out well to take a good second in a strong class.

3 Roberts & Murray’s Mindlen Moccasin.

GCB (2)

1 Kannagara’s Paringer She’s A Queen. Lovely to judge a smooth coat as so few smooths are seen in the ring these days. Clean head, good mouth darkest of eyes, compact bitch, with well balanced angulations and moved straight. Showed and handled really well.

2 Kannagara’s Sherosco Christmas Rose The vintage house mate of first, at 12 years old this veteran is doing well to still strut herself in the ring, in really good shape for her age, teeth still remarkably good and clean, coat in excellent condition, good limbs and a credit to her owner.
