PARSON JACK RUSSELL JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 10

Parson Russell Terrier

Thank you for the excellent entry which I appreciated & enjoyed judging. My aim was to find PRTs which displayed the unexaggerated essentials required to fulfil the original purpose of the breed. I looked for a sound workmanlike dog moving effortlessly & economically with the construction to allow it to go to ground if necessary. However, I feel the exceptionally hot weather probably affected some dogs’ performances on the day which was a pity.

PD (5):

1 Johnson’s Garsayno Magic Man, well-coated youngster appealed for size, balanced body qualities, attractively marked head with good ears, eye & typical expression, spannable, thick loose skin, moved & showed well to take BP.

2 Hall’s Frithgarth Mighty Gandalf, another good sort, correctly proportioned head, good eye & ears, scored in neck & shoulder construction, well made body correctly arched over loin, not quite so steady on the move as winner.

3 Pell’s Cassacre Sea Urchin At Olliebark

JD (5):

1 Swift & Parr’s Spellbert Captain Jack, correctly-sized young dog just having the edge over 2 in movement both ways, pleasing in head, correct neck , well made body with good length in rib, spannable & in good jacket with thick loose skin.

2 Newport & Baker’s Ratscallion Tactical Play, liked this balanced spannable youngster for his general qualities in head, neck & body construction, pleasing for size, one of the better movers in this class.

3 Chapman’s Foxwarren Finder

PGD (3):

1 Eastwood’s Pacolito Preshous At Denlyhill, the best mover here in this class with good head proportions, straight front legs with compact feet, perhaps a touch wide here when standing, good for size overall & spannable, happy & very playful but in spite of that managed to go round the ring quite well.

2 Hill, Muckle & Speight’s Mindlen Capercaillie At Amgrantach, rather thicker-set in general than winner, but nevertheless correctly made in front with compact feet, balanced body construction, very well muscled up, but not moving quite so well as 1.

3 Griffiths’ Digaden Windrush Chase

LD (7):

1 Bygate’s Windynook Init To Winit, aptly named, workmanlike sort, masculine & well made all through, balanced angulation in both front & hind assemblies, typical head & just the right amount of neck, a spannable dog in good jacket with correct thick pelt, correct body length to height ratio, presenting a pleasing overall outline, moving out well and looking just the part for me on the day, I was pleased to award him the CC.

2 Smith & Moon’s Alncroft Blackthorn, pleasing young dog in almost every department, balanced in body, spannable, in correct jacket with thick pelt, lovely typical head & expression, would like to see him again when fully mature. RCC.

3 Sutton’s Pacolito Persona At Springbeck

OD (4):

1 Denby-Gardner’s Ammanday Augury JW, white dog, well balanced all through, liked him for his head properties, correct eye and well placed ears, correct neck & front construction, well laid back ribs, correctly roached over loin, economical mover. Considered him strongly for the RCC.

2 Baker’s Ch Giftrapped Of Lovealoch To Pacolito (Imp Bel), a very pleasing dog indeed, close up to 1 & with similar qualities in construction, but just lost out a touch in overall movement on the day, just wondered if the condition of the grass didn’t suit him.

3 Coelho & Philp’s Pt Ch Gambler Da Roseira Brava (Imp)

PB (12,3):

1 Smith’s Bethane Liberton Lassie, I found the winners in this class both pleasing & promising, this young bitch well balanced for age, typical head of correct proportions, straight front legs finished with compact feet, good length of neck leading into well laid back shoulder, sound body conformation, spannable & correctly arched over loin, well angulated at both ends & moved accordingly. Close decision for BP.

2 Baker’s Pacolito Persistant, another typical & balanced with a feminine outlook which I liked, well made in shoulder & front, happy little bitch just lost out slightly going round the ring to the effortless movement of winner.

3 Minett’s Princess Lilo

JB (1):

1 Towler’s Andralok Dazzler, alone here but liked this one with her pleasing head qualities, well made front , correct neck flowing into well constructed body, strong in hindquarters, going well round the ring with a good showing temperament.

PGB (8,2):

1 Newport‘s Digaden Glamouruss, mixed class to judge, but both 1&2 displaying typy well-proportioned heads, sound front construction with good compact feet, 1 in decent jacket with good thick pelt, spannable, correctly constructed in quarters, moving well both ways to take the class.

2 Rimmer’s Kylini Spellsabound JW, another which I liked & close up to winner, attractive head with right proportions, very attentive to handler, well made in front but just lost out a tad in front feet to 1, well made in body correctly roached over loin & spannable, moving quite well generally.

3 Dolman’s Pacolito Phirstpick To Maxtay

LB (12,2):

1 Baker’s Pacolito Persuit, one of the shortlisted 5 I considered to be the best movers in this class, appealed greatly for type, lovely head & expression, well laid shoulder & straight front, tight feet, spannable & sound in body with correct arch over loin, good jacket & pelt, moving out well from balanced quarters. RCC.

2 Sutton‘s Pacolito Maid A Phortune At Springbeck, close up, liked this one also for type & general make & shape, alert & upstanding, well angulated forequarters with tight feet, moving quite well from well turned quarters.

3 Hill, Muckle & Speight’s Ardencote Tamanu

OB (7):

1 Rimmer’s Kylini Mythnmyst ShCM, appealed to me for type, general balance & sound overall construction, attractive typical head of correct proportions with a lovely feminine expression, correct length to neck which flowed into a well-laid shoulder, straight front with compact feet, spannable sound body, plenty of rib length leading to a correctly arched loin, well-turned quarters producing true & effortless movement, looked as though she could keep that up all day long. My pleasure to award CC & BOB.

2 Swift & Parr’s Pacolito Picture Monkey, another good sort which I liked, head perhaps not quite as strong as winner, but nevertheless typical throughout & presenting a good outline on the move, showed very well.

3 Newport’s Pacolito Pathfinder Taf
