PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 19

It was a pleasure to judge Parsons again today. Overall the impression was a positive one. The examples I judged to day were more consistent in type than in the past. There were no bad mouths size and shape were not extreme. Movement could have been more positive and struggled to be “free striding and well coordinated” in some. However fronts were generally straight with compact feet. Heads were good in the main without the fox terrier influences that have been noticeable in the past.

Minor Puppy Dog(2-0)

1) TOPHEAD TRUFFLE (MR J & MRS S NEWSTEAD) A baby with promise. Nice proportions, good shape, Stands well Nice head ear and eye strong jaw. Movement needs time. BDP BP

2)FRITHGARTH MASTER THE WORLD (MRS B L HALL) Good head and eye with a keen expression. Good body shape, nice angulation well up to size for 7months. Back currently appears a little long Spannable with good rib. Movement needs to settle.

Puppy Dog (3-1)

1) CUDWEED'S MASTER OF THE HOUNDS (IMP DNK) (MR & MRS S NEWPORT) Well presented with good muscle behind. Good shape and outline. Strong jaw. Stands well spans. Good angulation Moved soundly when he thought about it.

2) MALENKHAI HE'S COOL AS ICE (MRS B A BIGGS) A taller dog with a good head and jaw. Spannable rib. Tended to stand with a sloping back line. Good angulation but movement needs time, a little close behind.

Post Graduate Dog (2-1)

1) PIPINSBROOK MR HAPPY AT OLLIEBARK (MRS D M PELL) Did not live up to his name. Needs confidence. Angulation Ok would like more muscle behind lacks drive

Limit Dog (4-0)

1) HOOLMARK JOHNNY GUITAR (MR M & MRS M HOOLEY) Dog with good outline and shape. Straight back, over spannable rib. Strong jaw and head of good shape. Would have liked more muscle behind but moved positively

2) HEYTHROP TAGGERT (MR R & MRS L BIGLAND) Good jaw head not as strong as 1. Good ear placement. Good body shape and size. Spanned easily. Straighter behind than I would like but excellent muscle and drive

3) JUST TOP RUSSELL TO PACOLITO (IMP BLR) (MISS E & MRS J KNIGHT & BAKER)

Open Dog (3-0)

1) CH MINDLEN MAGNUM AT RATSCALLION (MR JG & DR SH BROADBERRY). Good head with strong jaw and good width of skull. Nice eye and good expression on a clean neck of adequate length. Shape and size correct. Spannable correct angulation, straight in front, moved parallel in front and rear. DCC and BOB

2) CH DIGADEN PITCH PERFECT (MR & MRS S NEWPORT) Good shape and outline. Well presented. Nice head, strong jaw, muscular neck set on a spannable body of good proportion. Adequate angulation strong drive behind which was not matched by the front reach. RDCC

3) CH HEYTHROP TRICKSHOT FOR ALNCROFT (MR R & MRS L BIGLAND)

Special Beginners Dog (1-0)

1)FRITHGARTH STONE MEADOW (MRS B L HALL) A taller dog in rough coat. The coat made him look short in neck and this with a tendency to stand lower at the rear made the outline difficult to assess Good width of skull strong jaw Good angulation needs more confidence on the move BSB

Minor Puppy -Bitch (3-2)

1) MUHLROSS MAGIC DIAMOND (MR J & MRS S NEWSTEAD) A feminine 6 Month baby. Good shape standing, fine head Straight in front adequate angulation behind. Movement as yet a bit scatty

Puppy Bitch (1-0)

1) MALENKHAI MISS VANILLA ICE AT PROVEITS (MRS H ANDERSON) Straight in front adequate angulation. Good shape but still very much a baby, movement needs time

Junior Bitch

1) MALENKHAI ICE ICE BABY (MRS B A BIGGS) Good head with pleasing width of skull, strong jaw nicely placed ears. Loved her shape and size Moved straight in front with parallel drive behind. Adequate angulation. Spanned easily Lots of promise. BPB

2) DIGADEN TIP TOP (MR & MRS S NEWPORT) Head a little narrower in muzzle than some. Stood well nice proportions. Good angulation behind. On the move never really settled had much stronger dive behind than reach in front.

Post Graduate Bitch (3-0)

1ST ARDENCOTE TEACH IN WITH HEYTHROP (MR R & MRS L BIGLAND) Smaller bitch but of excellent shape and type. Head not as strong as some but adequate width of skull set on a good neck and coupled to a spannable body. Straight in front with good drive behind on the move. RBCC

2) AFINLEA WOOD LEOPARD (MRS A J & MR M J BROWN) Bigger bitch than 1 but spanned nicely. Straighter behind on the stand but well muscled which gave her drive behind. Would have like to see her using more reach in front.

3) PROVEITS POACHERS CHOICE (MR J & MRS S NEWSTEAD)

Limit Bitch (4-0)

1) FRITHGARTH SKY LANTERN (MRS B L HALL) Strong head and jaw, Proportions perhaps a little longer than some but spanned Ok Sound in movement both front and rear with good angulation behind and a straight front.

2) FORGEFOX FERN FOR RATSCALLION (MR JG & DR SH BROADBERRY) This bitch looked excellent standing but failed to translate her looks into a confident presentation. Finer in head than ! Good rear angulation straight in front needed enthusiasm.

3) DIGADEN RUNNER BEAN (MR & MRS S NEWPORT)

Open Bitch (1-0)

1) PACOLITO PHINAL EDITION (MISS K & MR S DAYMAN & COLE) Good head with good width of skull, strong jaw set on a neck of good length. Rib spans, body shape and proportions good. Straight in front with good angulation behind. Moved positively but I am sure there is more to be extracted.BCC

Veteran Bitch (1-0)

1) BOULTMOOR TRUE DELIGHT (MRS L & MR C SHELTON) A veteran who can still move. Good head ear and eye Spans well good angulation behind BV
