PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE LEEDS 21

A pleasure to judge this entry – a breed I like for its functional build and natural working abilities.

PD (2)

1 McCluskey’s Chadbrook Luthien. 10 months, very typical all through. Correct for proportions, spannable ribs and good leg length and tail set. Eye good head and eye. Dense rough coat. Full of promise. Sound moving. Handler could make more of him on the move. Full of type. BP.

JD (2)

1 Smith’s Chadbrook Havoc. 13 months, correct size, just a touch long for perfect balance and his tail is a little high set. Good texture to coat. Strong head. Good quarters. Maximum depth for his age.

LD (4)

1 McCluskey’s Chadbrook Sunfire. 2 years old, whose size and proportions appealed but he needs more rear angulation. Strong head and muzzle. Eye a touch large. Scored on movement here and his correct depth of body. Overall full of type and strode out well to take RDCC.

2 Newport’s Cudweed’s Master Of The Hounds (Imp Dnk). 2 year old. I preferred the head of this dog but he is a little deep for his length of leg. Good topline with rise over the loin and a correct tail set. Front action let him down.

3 Hobson’s Partridgdale Little Rock.

OD (3)

1 Newport’s Ch Digaden Pitch Perfect. Top size, 5 years old, easy winner of this class. Correct proportions, tailset, spannable ribcage and good length of leg. Good head proportions and eye. I would prefer a cleaner front action but he has a lot of type. DCC.

2 Manson’s It Ch Clouseau At Five Roads (Imp Ita). 3 years, good coated dog of correct size and correct topline, but his head is too long and his rear action disappointing. Over presented for my taste.

VD (2)

1 Duke’s Sh Ch Rushden Gorgeous George CW12 CJW06 JD. 9 years, appealed a lot for his size and proportions. Still spannable. Excellent coat. Head needs a little more stop. Good skull and foreface a little shorter. Sound at both ends. He has just thickened a little in neck but still full of quality. Went well. BV and won the Terrier Veteran Group. Did the breed proud. Every inch a functional working terrier. Congratulations.

2 Blair & Hadley’s Cleeve Hill Kasper (Imp Bel). 10 years old, bigger dog who has filled out in rib and is a little deep now. Superb coat. Foreface a little long. His dentition is perfect – full complement in pristine condition – a credit to his owner.

PB (6, 3)

1 Young’s Chadbrook Affirmation. 8 months, she does not need to grow on but today she scored on movement and carriage. She is a touch heavy in bone. Good head proportions. Well made but I’d prefer her just a little fined down.

2 McCluskey’s Chadbrook Islay. 9 months, a little boxy but I preferred her bone. Muzzle a little short. Correct tail set. Needs more leg to balance. Full of spirit and needs some schooling so her movement can be assessed.

3 Duke’s Ultra Thundertale At Rushden TAF (Imp).

JB (2, 1)

1 Duke & Gill’s Rushden Firebug. 13 months, a lovely type for proportions, coat and correct tail set. Good skull and a slightly shorter muzzle. Needs confidence but her movement is accurate. Like a lot of “lockdown” youngsters will benefit from experience.

PGB (5)

1 Roberts’ Mindlen Mic Mac At Heythrop. 2 years, looked a functional working terrier, correct for bone and body depth and leg length. Clean neck and shoulder. Goes with a good stride. Feminine head of good proportions, which could be just a little stronger in foreface but she is young and not yet fully mature. In great form and strode cleanly round the ring BCC & BOB.

2 Newport’s Digaden Spill The Beans. 22 months, lovely headed bitch, just a little heavier in type than the winner, whose tailset I preferred. Good mover. In excellent crisp coat.

3 Hobson’s Partridgdale Bluebell.

LB (4, 1)

1 McCluskey’s Chadbrook Elka. Type, 4 years old, appealed for her proportions but her tail is a little high set. Good head proportions. Scored in feet and head to win this. In very good coat.

2 Newport’s Digaden Miss Marigold. 22 months, in her undercoat today. Has the correct rise over the loin and correct tail set but ears can settle. Clean front action. Feet can be stronger.

3 Young’s Chance Of Discovery Of Chadbrook.

OB (4)

1 Young’s Chadbrook Electra. 5 years, smaller bitch who appealed for proportions and shape andt the correct rise over the loin. Head of good proportions but ears could be neater. Good rear, good length of stide. Could have just a touch more leg but I liked her a lot. RBCC.

2 Roberts’ Mindlen Moccasin. 22 months, a little long for balance, in excellent coat. I preferred her head to the winner but lacks rise over the loin and just a little long for breed balance. A good mover.

3 Manson’s Vixenview Valentina.

VB (4, 1)

Good to see these three good veterans.

1 Shelton & Shelton’s Boultmoor True Delight. 9 years, best head of the class, in very good coat and just spannable. Sound action with correct tailset.

2 Laird’s Mindlen Freyja At Drailam. 7 years, I liked her leg length and proportions ad she moved well. Foreface a little long.

3 Kannagara Sherosco Christmas Rose.
