PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE NATIONAL TERRIER 19

Thank you to all exhibitors for your fabulous entry. On the whole size, mouths, coats and movement were good. However, I feel we have a big problem in upright shoulders and short upper arms. This needs to be addressed otherwise we are going to lose the true free movement our breed is famed for. Conformation can, in my opinion, be the hardest fault to put right once lost. Very few exhibits had any second thigh or muscle tone which I found very disappointing for a working Terrier. Some coats had virtually none or very little undercoat this can only be addressed by adding smooths to your breeding programmes. Heads differed dramatically some very course heads with round eyes and some very large hound ears. That said I was delighted with my main winners all of the highest quality and a credit to both breeders and owners.
SBD/B (5, 3) 1 Sturdy's Alncroft In Time. Good head with tan markings well placed ears, well laid shoulder and good topline, super coat with good pelt, good rise and well set tail. Good rear angulation, unfortunately was sluggish on the move today. Best Special Beginner. 2 Kannagara Logierait. Different type to first, much lighter on bone, at the very top of the measure, feminine head of adequate proportions with well set ears. Nice length, would prefer a better tailset and carriage. Moved ok.

1 Young's Nock River's Hilton (Imp Ita). Wormanlike male of good proportions, good head and eye, good reach of neck and well placed shoulder. Good pelt, easy span, well set on tail.
