PARSON JACK RUSSELL JUDGE SOUTHERN COUNTIES 11
I would like to thank the all the exhibitors for their support on this my first time awarding CC's in the breed. A quality entry awaited me, a case of splitting hairs made for a day when i could easily have awarded top honours throughout the entry.
Temperaments were excellent and I was particularly impressed with my top winners who I felt filled my eye for type, size and fitness. Dogs that could if required perform their job and were very much "fit for function"
The day was sunny and as always at this premier Championship Show the "in and out" covered rings are much appreciated by dogs, exhibitors, judge and stewards alike. I was very capably assisted by two highly professional stewards and my thanks go to them for helping the day run smoothly. A most pleasant appointment and a lovely atmosphere was evident throughout.

1st HOOLMARK SUNDANCE KID (MR M & MRS M HOOLEY) 10 mth old tan and white pup. Lovely type with a good head and dark eye, small well shaped ears of good thickness. Correct scissor bite. He has a good front and topline, nicely boned and shown in excellent harsh coat with thick pelt. He appealed greatly for size span. Just needs time to settle on the move. But plenty of time on his side.
2nd DIGADEN PLAYING THE FIELD (MR S & MRS J NEWPORT) another good pup of nice type similar remarks to above. Was more settled on the move than 1st. But although he is spannable at only 7mths old preferred 1st's overall proportions for age.

1st ALNCROFT BLACKTHORN (MRS K A & MRS M L SMITH & MOON) This male just fills your eye for breed type. He is bang on for size, weight and spans with ease. Loved his masculine outlook with super head and expression he just dares you to look away and needless to say i couldn't and was smitten as soon as he entered the ring. Excellent scissors bite and super strength of underjaw. Pleased throughout the shoulder with straight front, good bone and standing on correct shaped well padded feet. Such a well balanced dog with a super outline. Correct tail set and carried well. Strong well angulated hindquarters. He was shown in the best of jackets a harsh topcoat, dense undercoat and thick pliable pelt. In hard condition fit and well muscled which showed in his true movement both fore and aft. A dog that i had not previously had the pleasure to judge and was delighted to learn that i had awarded him his crowning CC i also awarded him BOB on his considerable merits. A very worthy Champion. It was also interesting to note after judging that i had awarded his sire RBPIS when judging a PRT Club show.
2nd PARRUSS COMANCHE CHIEF (MRS L VAUGHAN) This is another male who appealed greatly for his many considerable breed qualities he too has a super expression. Correct head proportions and good scissor bite looked good both on the move and standing. Shown in the peak of condition. Not surprised to hear after judging that this lad had just gained his title. Congratulations are in order to another worthy champion for the breed.
