Parson Russell Terriers
1 CC & BP, Broadberry’s Mindlen Magnum at Ratscallion, smart & sound particularly in rear, pleasing head, strong muzzle, OK in front for his age but can still tighten a little more. Ideal body & tailset, easy span, excellent hindquarters, surprised to find him the best male at just 7 months;
2 Newpot’s Digaden Pitch Perfect, taller & would prefer him a size smaller. A little ‘cheeky’ in backskull, good neck, bone & tidy feet. Excellent body & topline, good coat & tail carriage. Moved OK in profile.
1 Bigland’s Heythrop Taggert, good size & proportions, strong headed smooth with a dense coat. Very well muscled & his rear is superb. Too much ticking in coat & would like a slightly higher earset. Reasonable front, good legs & feet.
1 Newman’s Digaden Top Ace, a touch big, lovely head & strong muzzle, slightly shorter than skull, neat ears & well set. A little upright in shoulders & needs a bit more forechest. Body difficult to span. Lovely quarters & a really super mover in rear & quite a good stride in profile.
1 RCC, Farrow’s Glencymreig Two In One, smart & very sound moving with a ground covering stride. Head strong & eyes set well. Ears rather heavy & carried away from cheeks, good front & body, easy span, super rear & well set on tail;
2 Yerbury’s Beauforts Charles, good for size & a houndy dog, a touch too deep in chest & rather too much spring of rib, good behind & excellent coat, turns one leg out from the pastern in front;
3 Bigland’s Ardencote Tutor with Heythrop.
1 Whiteley’s Sunrock & Russell Yard’s Made In America, poor class for open. Winner a little too short in back & heavy in ears, super front & shoulder set, good forechest, firm back & good over loin, well set & carried tail. Moved well all round but too ‘Fox Terrier’ like;
2 Broadberry’s Ch Foxthorn Huron at Ratscallion, can stand straight behind, but moves with more stride in rear, then he looks, good head & eyes, strong muzzle, easy span, well set tail;
3 Baker & Baker’s Pacolito Protolythic.
1 Minett’s Ch Princess Lilo, nice quality bitch, absolutely sound & free moving, well constructed & has a lovely head & eyes, good neck length, super hard topline, she is a touch too long in loin but passable in a bitch. In really good nick too for a 7 year old;
2 Farrow’s Ch Glenholm Happy Go Lucky, pleasing outline & he too moves well for 9 years. Ears a little too low set, super ribbing & rear, well set tail & hard coat, showing well!;
3 Kannangara’s Sherosco Lucky Lad.
1 Kannangara’s Sherosco Christmas Rose, good size & condition. Very feminine, rear movement a little cowhocked & she runs up over the loin a touch too much. I liked her ribbing & tailset. Good forechest & showing beautifully.
1 Newport’s Digaden Runner Bean, some smart pups here! Winner a really good prospect, pleasing head & eyes set well in, enough neck to protect her feet. Excellent front & lay of shoulder, lean body, correct topline & rear. Moved nicely all round;
2 Neild’s Logierait Lambie Lalley, also a promising sort, lovely head & expression. OK in body proportions, slightly longer than high. Tailset a touch too high & very curly. OK in rear & moved soundly;
3 Whiteley’s Sonateeka’s High Priced.
1 Bigland’s Heythrop Tidie, excellent size & proportions. She needs a little more slope to upper arm as she is too stiff in front movement & tends to lift her front too high moving. Lovely head & good body, easy span, OK in rear. Promising I thought;
2 Nixon’s Gonetoground Summer Breeze, very leggy & tall & her coat is too soft. I liked her movement, good head, correct depth & width of chest & beautifully handled.
1 Hughes’ Ruffntuff That Was So Close, doesn’t show herself off to advantage, but comes right moving, good neck, OK in front & body, enough bend of stifle & she moved quite well all round;
2 Bigland’s Ardencote Teach In with Heythrop, lovely hard coat, good size & feminine yet still strong. Rather upright in shoulders & down on her pasterns. OK in body, easy span. Neat quarters;
3 Highfield’s Bradpole Ballet.
1 RCC, Newport’s Digaden Just So, two nice bitches, both fairly equal for movement & build. Winner scored on her head carriage in profile movement, whilst the second hung her head & so her topline suffered. Winner not so firm in pasterns, but lovely otherwise;
2 Collis’ Riplington Dream Image, standing looked a picture & she too is very nicely put together. Good head & front assembly. Excellent body & rear. Needs a different type of lead I would think;
3 Broadberry’s Alncroft In Tune at Ratscallion.
1 CC & BOB, Baker’s Pacolito Protocool, out of coat on legs & tail, but back coat is hard. A lovely bitch all through, eyes set in nicely & of correct shape, neat ears, strong muzzle, sound legs & feet, body an easy span & she keeps a perfect topline. Sound moving & she has quality;
2 Hughes’ Ch Riplington Black Cherry, heavier sort & a touch masculine, in better coat than winner, but not quite her lay of shoulder & her ribcage is a touch wide. Absolutely true & precise moving & in lovely condition & muscletone;
3 Nixon’s Gonetoground Go For Gold.
