I was delighted with the quality of my entry and found I was splitting hairs on many occasions. I was generally very pleased with the size of the exhibits, particularly the bitches, size being something we always have to keep an eye on as breeders. All dogs were of good disposition and all mouths were correct. PD (2,0) 1st Broadberry's Mindlen Magnum at Ratscallion. Well balanced 7.5 month old tri-coloured dog. Attractive head, masculine without being coarse. Enough neck leading to well laid shoulders and correct topline. Well angulated fore and aft. Very sound coming and going, presenting a smart outline on the move. Spannable with good coat and pelt. I just hope he doesn't grow on. BPIB. 2nd Newport's Digaden Pitch Perfect. Another smart well balanced puppy with a super head. Lovely neck and shoulder, spanned easily and presented in correct jacket. Lovely puppy, just needs to tighten up which should come with maturity. JD (1,0) 1st Bigland's Heythrop Taggert. Very smart, smooth coated dog of super size and build. Presented in tip top condition. Easily spannable. Masculine head leading to super, neck and shoulder and correct topline. Moved soundly coming and going as well as in profile. PGD (1,1) OD (3,0) A very pleasing class of mature males. 1st Bigland's Ardencote Tutor with Heythrop. At just over two years of age, this dog is just reaching his prime. A masculine dog, without being coarse. Smooth and lightly broken PRT's are sadly becoming few and far between nowadays but this dog is a very sound example. He is all moderation, from head to toe, another hugely important trait in the breed and one that is misunderstood. Easily spannable and moving very soundly coming and going. He presents a very balanced picture both on the move and standing. Pleased to award him BD and BOB. 2nd Young's Chadbrook Roux. Very striking tan and white dog. Beautiful head with goodlength neck and well laid back shoulder. Correct topline which he didn't lose on the move. Carried himself soundly around the ring. Handled very well. One just scored on coat for me today. RBD 3rd Broadberry's Ch Foxthorn Huron at Ratscallion. Smart tri-coloured dog completing a very pleasing trio of dogs. PB (1,0) 1st Newport's Digaden Runner Bean. Very pretty tan and white bitch puppy with a lovely headpiece. Really super for size and shown in excellent coat and condition. Well balanced with pleasing neck and shoulder. Easy to span. Moved soundly presenting a smart outline. BPB. JB (3,2) 1st Bigland's Heythrop Tidie. Stunning little bitch at just over a year old. Presented a very smart outline both standing and on the move. Bang on for size. Super head, neck and shoulder, easily spannable. Correct topline and tailset, nothing overdone about her, which I loved. When settled, she moved soundly and with purpose. I very much look forward to seeing how she matures. RBB. PGB (4,2) 1st Young's Chadbrook Electra. Beautiful young bitch, very much all Parson with a feminine headpiece. Super neck and shoulders, leading to correct topline and tailset. Very well balanced, spannable and presented in good coat and condition. Well handled to get the best out of her both standing and moving. Showed her socks off to win BB. 2nd Bigland's Ardencote Teach in with Heythrop. Very attractive tan and white bitch. Feminine head and overall, very good size and balance. Easy to span. Scored in neck and shoulder. Showed and handled well. OB (4,2) 1st Young's Chadbrook Indignation. Really smart bitch with a strong but feminine head. Presented a very pleasing, moderate outline with little to fault. Easy to span, lovely neck and shoulder, ample angulation and she pulled it all together on the move. Unfortunately not in her best coat today. 2nd Newport's Digaden Just So JW. Another attractive bitch of super size. Very pleasing head proportions. Presented in superb coat and condition. Well made shoulders, with a clean front. Just preferred hind action of 1 today. Shown and handled well to get the best from her. Kate Smith (Judge) Go To Top Of Page
