PARSON RUSSELL JUDGE WELKS 16

Parson Russell Terriers

My thanks to the committee for a very enjoyable day, to my able stewards for their help, to the sporting exhibitors for a pleasing entry & to the weather for being kind to us & allowing us to be outdoors.

I found that most were spannable & mouths were generally OK. I appreciate it’s a difficult time of year but a few coats were very sparse or linty without much sign of undercoat. Rear movement on the whole was good but a few lacked drive, while in some others it was their elevated front action that belies an upper arm than is shorter than ideal. Feet should be tight & have good firm pads, some were lacking in this important trait. The surroundings & weather conditions seemed to unsettle many of the younger ones making movement difficult to judge.

PD (4)

1 King’s Bramarno Prince Of Bohemia, 12 months t/w. Pleasing head, good dark eye, ears well carried. Double coat with loose pelt. Moved out soundly. Correct tight feet. Rise over loin & good set on. Promising young male;

2 Storey & Kelly’s Mindlen Arran at Brizanrae, tri with tail spot. Good wedge shaped head, well proportioned body with good bone. Good jacket & pelt. Just a little unsettled on the move;

3 Bowden’s Chellowside Starmix.

JD (4)

Some promising young males in this class.

1 Wood’s Ardencote Taber, t/w broken coated. Smart confident youngster with lovely head, dark eye & neat ears. Fits the Standard so well. Nice to see him obviously enjoying himself. Lovely front, good reach of neck, easy span, correct topline. Moved out very soundly on a loose lead for his sympathetic handler. Surely has a promising future ahead. RCC;

2 Bigland’s Ardencote Tutor with Heythrop, t/w lightly broken coat. Pleasing head. Well muscled with good topline & tailset. Good for angulation, didn’t give his handler the easiest of jobs on the move;

3 Kirkby’s Rountfelley Beaspoke.

LD (2)

1 Broadberry’s Foxthorn Huron at Ratscallion, tri, dense jacket, correct wedge shaped head, dark eye, good earset. Narrow front. Good topline & set on. A sound dog who fits the Standard. Looking a little concerned about his plucky handler today;

2 Hall’s Frithgarth Magic Sandpiper, lemon/w. Strong masculine head, good expression & pigment. Would like harsher jacket. A little reluctant on the move.

OD (1)

1 Wilson’s Ch Pacolito Highly Prized at Dragonmoor, quality dog who was expertly handled & presented in great condition. Very sound & workmanlike. Excellent for size, outline & balance, good drive on the move. CC & BOB.

PB (3)

1 Stanway & King’s Bramarno Woodvylle Wytch, t/w. 12 months today. Attractive young female with dark eye & correct challenging expression. Nice reach of neck. Dense harsh jacket. Good front & rear assembly. Produced in great condition, moved soundly. BP;

2 Hall’s Frithgarth Sky Lantern, 6 months old, very promising youngster with all the right attributes. Just needs a little time;

3 Gray’s Mudgi Meadowcroft Martha.

JB (3,1)

1 Bigland’s Ardencote Teach In with Heythrop, t/w, lovely feminine head with great expression. Harsh broken coat, good pelt & easy span. Good neck, shoulder & front. Pleasing topline & tailset. Gave her patient handler a hard time on the move;

2 Harcourt-Morris’ Kylini Primadiva for Lenacourt, tri with feminine head & dark eye. Overall good for size & balance. Dense jacket. Somewhat distracted on the move.

PGB (2)

1 Gray’s Mudgi Meadowcroft Matilda, t/w, feminine head with dark eye. Good jacket. Flexible chest & easy to span. Narrow front. Well presented, moved soundly behind;

2 Storey & Kelly’s Pacolito Rumour Has It at Brizanrae, t/w, pleasing head, with well set ears, good expression. Workmanlike type. Produced & handled well.

LB (5)

A class full of lovely females.

1 Liddell’s Lyonmill Daydream, t/w with tail spot. Neat feminine bitch with a harsh broken coat. Well muscled & definitely fit for purpose;

2 Highfield’s Bradpole Beauty, very pretty t/w bitch broken coat. Easy to span, narrow front, nice reach of neck, lay of shoulder & good topline. Sadly not really sparkling today;

3 Smith & Moon Alncroft In Gold.

OB (9)

Another class packed full of quality.

1 Smith & Moon’s Ch Alncroft I Spy, t/w, scores for head, size, type & conformation, with dense double coat & loose pelt. Showed with attitude. Top quality workmanlike bitch possessing all the right attributes. CC;

2 Storey & Kelly’s Pacolito Phardante, t/w, another super, feminine bitch, dense broken coat, lovely outline, great condition who will surely get her crown soon. RCC;

3 Bowden’s Pacolito Mistress at Llyunamill.
