PARSON RUSSELL WELKS 23 Judge: Ms Steph Collis Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at their well organised show. I really enjoyed my day and was very pleased with my final line up of dogs. Thank you to everyone who entered. My stewards were great…kept the ring running smoothly and made my day very pleasant and enjoyable so also a big thank you to them. 1 Plunkett Woody at Kylini (Rimmer) Youngster who still needs time to settle in the ring. Great size with a lovely strength of head. Good, straight front, but would have preferred it a little narrower. Well proportioned. Moderate chest and so was easily spannable. Nice coat. Moved ok. 1 Heythrop Tamar (Bigland) Liked his outline when standing…correct topline and well balanced overall. Good front and elbows. Lovely strength of head. Easily Spannable. Another needing more time to be comfortable in the noisy ring…today was very hard to assess his movement properly. BPD Two very different types in this class. 1 Heythrop Toptag (Bigland) Preferred his overall type and had the better movement of the two. Has a lovely balance with a good topline, held well on the move. Good strength of head. Strong rear end and good tail set. Easily Spannable. Moved well. 2. Vixenview Zorro (S Lynch) Much shorter coupled than 1. Straight in front, but would have preferred it to be narrower. Spannable. Good strength of head with keen expression and lovely dark eyes. Was a little wayward with his movement today. Well handled overall. 1 Foxfur Newark (Woods and Borman) Has a great strength of head with keen expression. Spannable. Good coat. Moved ok although his front needs to tighten a little. Would have preferred slightly more length to his leg. 1 Foxfur Magician (Johnston). Liked his size and balance. Deeper in chest then some but is Spannable. Nice strength of head. Front ok. Relaxed when moving and held his topline well but otherwise was generally a little unsettled. 1 Hoolmark Emrys (Tagg) Lovely sized terrier with great strength of head and alert expression. Good, straight, narrow front although slightly deeper in profile of chest than I would like but is Spannable. Correct topline, held well when moving. Moved ok. 2 Partridgdale Flynn (Hobson) Worked hard for his handler and was well shown. Not such a strong rear end as the first today which mean’t he lacked a bit of drive in his movement. However has lovely front and shoulders, good tight feet and a strength nice head. Spannable. Good coat. 1 Ch Heythrop Task Master for Alncroft (Smith) DCC and BOB. I have admired him before. A Lovely proportioned, well balanced showy parson who strode around the ring with real drive. Has a super head and great length of neck. Correct topline, held well on the move. Spannable. Great coat, well presented. Liked his overall size. Well angulated rear with good tailset. Shown extremely well. Very happy to award him the DCC and BOB. 2 Lux/Bel/Int Ch Double Barrels Dreams to Reality (Hadley) RDCC Another showy boy. Lovely strength of head and keen expression. Shorter coupled than 1. Great size and balance with good angulation. Easily Spannable. Good front and lovely tight feet. Would have preferred a fuller coat. Moved freely with strong drive and purpose. RDCC. 1 Alncroft Isle See (Hobson) BV Lovely size. Good strength of head with keen expression and a good reach of neck. She has the correct topline and tailset as well as being well proportioned with good balance. Easily spanned although chest a little deep in profile. Best movement in the class. Showed well. Delighted to award her BV. 2 Rougeau Simply Sassy Chaffe). A little out of condition today both in terms of coat and weight. However she is great size and has a lovely strength of head. Her front could be a bit narrower. Moved ok. She enjoyed her day in the ring, trying hard for her handler. 1 Alncroft Foxtrot ( Smith) RBCC BP only 6 mths. Took my eye as soon as she entered the ring. Liked her size, balance and proportions. Narrow, straight front with a lovely expressive feminine head. Good Coat and topline. Easily spanned. Great drive in her rear end for such a youngster. Simply a beautiful puppy whose handler knew exactly how to show her to advantage. Look forward to seeing their future together. Very happy to award her the RBCC and BP today. 1 Vixenview Gypsy (Woods and Boorman). Has time on her side, but needs a little more ring practice. Has a beautiful feminine head, nice straight front and is spannable. Her chest is a little deep in profile but she is Spannable. Good tailset. 1 Heythrop Taranna Bigland). Has a lovely balance and profile. Great size overall. Strong feminine head with good front. Easily spanned. Has a good topline and tailset. Was a little worried when moving today and would have preferred more coat. 1 Digaden Top Notch (mith) Showy terrier. Has a beautiful head, with great strength. Good shoulders, her front is straight but could be a little narrower. Correct size. Deeper in chest then some when in profile but actually easily spanned. Lovely topline even when moving. Movement could be tighter. Well shown. 2 Mindlen Miami (Kirby). She is a well balanced terrier, with a nice strength of head. Correct topline and tailset. Spannable. Good in profile. a bit nervous and unsettled in the ring today….Relaxed when moving but needs more time. 3 Vixenview Talia Shire Woods and Boorman) A strong class with some quality bitches that could easily swap places on other days. 1 Heythrop Tangletop (Bigland). Loved her size and balance. Strong but feminine head with great expression and confidence. Easily spanned. Good profile. Straight front. Held topline well especially when moving. Never stopped trying for her owner. Moved well, covering the ground with purpose. Pushed hard for higher honours. 3 Mindlen Monopoly of Alncroft (Smith) 1 Vixenview Chip N Pin (Manson) BCC Well handled, showy girl who stood alone in her class. Beautiful strong but feminine head with alert expression. Small tight feet, with a good front. Easily spanned. Good proportions, (slightly shorter coupled than some) and well balanced overall. She moved well. Was very happy to give her the BCC (later discovered it was her crowning one).
