SCOTTISH BLACKPOOL 12 Judge(s): MR FRANK KANE Scottish Terriers Thank you for your forbearance in difficult conditions. We were fortunate to get a section of the main ring under cover & I appreciated the sporting nature of all the exhibitors. We can only feel sorry for the show organisers who had the weather to destroy all of their planning & reduce the showground to a marsh. PD 1 Carisco Midas Touch, 10 month wheaten, lovely body for rib & substance, low set & with very good front & front action. Masculine head of good length, assertive & self important on the move, good coat. BP; 2 Phoenix Du Moulin De McMonique at Lynnsto, 6 month, beautifully headed & great temperament, very good shape. Gave away a lot in rib & coat but has great promise & a lot of quality. JD 1 Pendlehill Plutocrat, 13 month, good headed dog, well boned & straight front legs, good ribcage & good coat. Could be beter in tailset. Used quarters well. PGD 1 Ashkeltar Bite The Bullet, needs trimming to better advantage. Underneath the coat has good ribcage. Good front although I would prefer a little more bone. Lovely quality in head & neck. Needs a little more enthusiasm to pull him together on the move; 2 Polwicks Tournamline at Tahemor, 5 years, heavier dog, good body, good topline & quarters. Rather heavy in head & not the front of 1. Showed well for his very sporting owner. LD 1 Kingsview Just Stewart, brindle, high quality all through & full of self importance both standing & moving. Beautiful quality head & eye, correct neck, balanced all through, excellent coat of very good texture. Looked very well. RCC. Whilst I preferred his head to the CC winner he has not yet the finish of body but time will put that right & see him winning well; 2 Carisco My Leading Man, great character & full of terrier spirit, carries himself well, good ribbing, topline & quarters. I preferred 1 in head & front but a lot to recommend him; 3 Millingford Winter Lion. OD 1 Emandem Black Pudding, 5 years, very honest, quality dog, excellent rib & body, low slung with good front, moved very well, coat in excellent form. CC; 2 Multi Ch Happy Birthday Du Moulin De McMonique, beautifully presented wheaten, long clean head which I preferred to 1. Not the compactness of body of 1. Moved with style but a little narrow in front; 3 Bonnieanne Norman of Tahgmor. PB 1 Carisco Leading Lady, 10 month of good type, low slung body & good front, good ribbing. Just a little soft in topline. Sound, head of good length which could be a little cleaner on the cheeks. Excellent temperament. JB 1 Pendlehill Starlight, 13 month brindle, quality bitch, excellent type throughout, excellent coat & rib. Needs to lose a little weight. Head of good proportions & clean throughout, went well. Just needs firming up. PGB The first 2 gave me the hardest decision of the day as they both had a lot to like. 1 Glengracie Toffee Crisp, brindle, scored in quarters & movement. Good head, just a little strong for a bitch. Very good ribbing & coat texture, scored in quarters & tailset; 2 Glenboig Lady Luck at Carseview, took the eye for her excellent shape. Better head & size for me but not using her quarters well. Small, compact. Not quite the tailset of 1. Very good body, topline & substance, close up; 3 Forestree Cherry Laurel. LB 1 Millingford Cloudberry, beautiful quality bitch of the size & like. Full of character & style, excellent quarters, beautiful head & eye, excellent compact body. Feet could be a little stronger but she appealed enormously. I feel sure she will have a great future. RCC. OB 1 Ch Stuane Florette, outstanding brindle, wonderful body shape & balance, topline & carriage, very good front & quarters & uses them effectively on the move. Head of good length, super ears & eye, in top form. CC & BOB; 2 Kelly’s Glenboig Lady Gaga at Carseview, quality bitch, slightly bigger with long clean head, very good substance, uses her quarters well. I preferred the front & compactness of 1. Pressed hard for RCC. FRANK KANE |
