SCOTTISH JUDGE CRUFTS 20

I would like to thank all the exhibitors who decided to show at Crufts in these very difficult times. Most exhibitors took my decisions with grace and I believe most enjoyed their day. I really enjoyed judging your lovely dogs. It is good to see that there are some outstanding stud dogs out there to help keep the breed maintaining the required standard as set out by the KC. I have been in Scottish Terriers for 42 years and judged the dogs on the day. My BOB and BOS winners were exemplary, my decision for BOB was awarded to the bitch, being lower to ground than the dog, therefore closest to the KC standard.

VD

1 Bichel-Schnock Ch Sir Darnley’s Windsor Wizard. I have judged this dog before 5 years ago WW’15. I cannot believe that he is nearly 8 years of age. Nothing has changed since the last time I judged him just a wee bit older. Fantastic condition, kept his top line when he powered round the ring Best Veteran in Breed.

2 Hovagimyan Ch Tamzin Mr Prospector. Again I have judged this dog before, now nearly 12 years of age a credit to his owners. Low to ground much lower to ground than my first place winner just preferred the head and drive of my first although this does not take away this dogs qualities.

3 Marcinekova Ch Eshly Ir-It Scottish Jun. Would have preferred a longer head and more substance, in good condition moved ok.

JD

1 Kenny-Marriott Millingford Trademark 11 months black. Lower to ground than 2nd. Would prefer a longer head, correct jacket, level topline, low to ground, moved ok. Well presented.

2 Cardy Magsonbay Jet Star of Brettvale 8 months black. Much bigger than my 1st place winner, would have liked more length from neck to withers. Plenty of substance. Moved ok. Still very much a baby.

JD

1 Weall Wringtonbell Born to Rock Black, Correct head, low to ground in lovely condition moved well fore and aft. Plenty of substance. Kept his outline on the move. Correct rear quarters. Lovely presentation.

2 Luig Moveable Feast Just My Style, Brindle, Lovely long head, plenty of substance, low to ground. Length of neck and shoulder placement could be better. Correct jacket. Moved ok.

3 Leonard & Smit-Kamerbeek Lucia’s Dream Costa Bop, Black dog, moved ok, low to ground, correct eye, length of neck and shoulder placement could be better, nice, jacket. Well presented.

PGD

1 Tyler Divadell Dr Feelgood, Black, well put together with substance, would prefer a cleaner head, the trimming did not help. Low to ground, Moved ok.

2 Polivkova Streathbogi Black Sapphire, Black, preferred the overall substance of my winner. Low to ground, would prefer more length of head, moved ok.

3 Harrison-Brown Eskwyre Carlito’s Way Brindle, well presented, low to ground, moved ok. Would prefer more length of head and neck. In nice jacket.

LD

1 Ramskov Snailand Onyx, Wheaten, Lovely bodied dog with plenty of substance. Clean long head, low to ground moved with drive. Correct coat. Nicely presented.

2 Mackay Carisco Don’t Stop Believing, Black, again this dog had substance low to ground would like a better topline. Preferred the head and neck carriage of my winner. Moved with purpose. Well handled and presented.

3 Winowicz Limoncello Suprem Dai Hard, Wheaten, beautifully presented would prefer much more substance and more of him. Level topline which he kept on the move, moved ok.

OD

1 Huber & Cross Ch. McVans Big Bopper At Beameups, Black, what a lovely dog. Presented to perfection. Plenty of substance, low to ground wide front, correct wide rear quarters, tail on top , moved with drive round the ring CC. I gave his brother best in Speciality in the USA, two outstanding dogs from CH Chyscott’s Behind The Mask.

2 Mishima Ch. Sharedon Black Label, Black, another dog of substance, low to ground, wide deep front, level topline which he kept on the move excellent course jacket. Well presented. Just preferred the overall picture of my winner, but it was close RDCC. I awarded his father the CC at SKC.

3 Smit-Kamerbeek Ch. Dalbrea’s Beameups Heartache Tonight, Black, and yet another lovely dog, the son of the class winner and he has all his good qualities. Just turned

2 the youngest out of the three his time I am sure will come with maturity. Moved with purpose fore and aft. One to watch for the future.

GCDS

1 McCraken Our Black Jack, Black the one and only in class, lovely chap well mannered and a good citizen. A worthy recipient of this award.

VB

1 Hovagimyan Ch. Verascott Fairy Queen, Black 10 years old looking fantastic for her age, very low to ground wide front correct head, took over the ring in this class no hesitation in awarding her 1st prize.

2 Hasselby Ch. Black Thistle Mary Bennet, Black 7 Years old. Preferred the head of one. Correct rear end, low to ground. Moved well, well presented.

3 Schwarz & Daly Tredaly Ask Alice,Black 7 years old. Shoulder placement could be better. Nice clean head moved ok.

PB

1 Hovagimyan Verascott Pearl Queen, Black What a naughty baby girl, but managed to calm down. Plenty of substance even at this age. Moved with purpose long head, correct run in, with level topline. BPIB

2 Coley Kingsview Just Victoria, Black, cobby bitch, low to ground, moved well fore and aft, would prefer longer neck carriage.

3 Hovagimyan Verascott Penny Lane, Brindle litter sister to the first placed puppy. I liked this girl she is lower to ground than her sister, more substance but would not settle and move such a pity. One to look at for the future. Correct long head, lovely wide rear quarters, as Miss Penn-Bull would say a smackable bottom.

JB

1 Pinto & Whitehead Berrybreeze Quintella at McKalay, Black lovely bitch, very low to ground correct neck and shoulders, clean head, correct eye and expression. Covered the ground with ease and then some. Level topline on the move. No hesitation in RBCC. Another to watch in the future.
