SCOTTISH DARLINGTON 09 Judge: Mr Ellis Hulme SCOTTISH JUDGE DARLINGTON 09 Scottish Terriers VD (3,1a ) 1 Marshall’s Ch Benartybrae Bear’s Rory, splendid size, type & quality, in great form & trim, moved & showed to best advantage, 10 years old looking hardly half his age, a credit to his owner. RCC; 2 Crawshaw’s Levenkirk Harris, one I have judged & liked before, his typical outlook is still to be admired. Perhaps not moving quite as well as he once did & he too, obviously, has a good home. PD (2) 1 Marshall’s Benartybrae Bugatti, smart, good type 10 months old, impressive conformation & movement, well set neck firm level topline, moved with a smooth free even action & excellent carriage. BP; 2 Gaskell’s Mayson Locksmith, full measure, rising 9 months old, thick set, plenty of bone & substance, excellent head, well developed body, first class topline & tail. Could have been more settled in movement. JD (3,2) 1 M Locksmith. PGD (1) 1 Hill’s Bonnieanne Norman of Tahgmor, long head, eye of good shape & colour, nicely mature in ribs & body, strong level topline, moved with purpose . LD (6) 1 Earl’s Turnaware Buccaneer, typical outline & balance, lengthy correctly proportioned head, strongly boned forelegs, deep chest & well rounded ribs, firm rear, confident showman; 2 Montgomery’s Gaterin Brigadoon, lots to like in type & soundness. Shade longer bodied than 1, otherwise, close up; 3 Rutherford’s Carisco I’m Your Man. OD (2) 1 Boyce’s Trakside By The Loch, very much on form, balanced outline, nicely combines substance & quality, pleasing head, eye & ears, body handled well, strong topline, good legs & feet. Perhaps a little exaggerated in furnishings, in hard condition. CC, a ch on the day; 2 Hill’s Polwicks Black Tourmaline of Tahgmor, attractive head properties, well bodied. Preferred topline & shorter back of 1. Bright character. PB (2,1) 1 Marshall’s Benartybrae Charleston, feminine outlook, confident, learning the job well, good movement & topline, jacket coming in nicely. Needs time to come together in outline. PGB (4) 1 Shaw’s Terratom Latte, smart, attractive head properties with neat ears, dark eye & slight stop, balanced angulation, body handled well, good legs & feet, well prepared harsh coat, made the most of her self standing & on the move. RCC; 2 Watson’s Suenala Aye Kandy, typical outlook & balance, pleasing head, correct neck, approaching maturity well in chest, ribs & loin, used herself well when moving. Not in best coat; 3 Montgomery’s Scotline Scarlette at Montscot. LB (4) 1 Long & Kit’s Ashkeltar Predict A Riot at Elfricia, attractive size & quality, well balanced outline, typical in all respects, soundly made & moved accordingly, well presented. Didn’t perform as well in the challenge or might have secured a higher award; 2 Marshall’s Jessica at Midnight with Benartybrae, bright, alert, nice head & neck, level back, shade longer cast than 1. Did everything right to secure her place in this closely contested class; 3 Montgomery’s Gaterin Rhum’n’'raisin at Montscot. OB (2,1) 1 Plane’s Stuane Loch Flora at Mayrlea, feminine, thick set, lengthy head, strong well set neck, excellent brisket & ribs, short body, well set & carried tail, impressive outline & carriage, excellent jacket & trim. CC, BOB & G4. ELLIS HULME
