SCOTTISH JUDGE DRIFFIELD 09

Scottish Terriers

I took over this appointment for Carol Annan. Carol I hope by the time you read this you are feeling much better.

MPD (2)

1 Bradley & Herd’s Brueik Magnum Opus, black, very short, good reach of neck, clean in head & neat ears. Not in his best coat but that will come;

2 Kenny’s Millingford Royal Emperor, in better coat & similar in head proportions. Not the reach of neck of 1 & also not as compact. Well presented & handled.

PD (4)

1 Gaskell’s Mayson Locksmith, light brindle, won this class with a bit to spare, short & cobby, well ribbed, good head & expression, very full of himself & showed to advantage. BP & RCC;

2 Marshall’s Benartybrae Bugatti, dark brindle, nice size, good in head & expression, good front, excellent coat. Not quite as short coupled as 1;

3 Marshall’s Benartybrae Rumba.

JD (1)

1 Cole’s Rabbonai Playmaker, black of good size, long clean head, well shaped eye, super coat which was well presented. Would just like him a little shorter in back.

YD (1)

1 Walker’s Beaureveur Magnifique, black, moved really well on this ground, long clean head, good expression, good front, good topline & tailset.

PGD (4,1)

1 Lawrence’s Sweetgarret My Wee Geordie, brindle, shortest in class, didn’t really settle on the ground but then none of the others did either. Well bodied, in good coat & body condition. For me would like a cleaner head;

2 Greenwood’s Petmon Light Of My Life, black, standing looked good. Could be a little more compact & although his head is longer than 1 his backskull could be cleaner;

3 Rowland’s Berrybreeze Bo Diddley at Rabbonai.

LD (8,1)

1 Earl’s Turnaware Buccaneer, brindle & out of a larger drawer & so was able to cope with the ground better. Presented to perfection, long clean head, well placed ears;

2 Montgomery’s Gaterin Brigadoon, nice for type, better size for me than 1 but not as good in head & expression & didn’t cope with the ground as well. Nice type. Low to ground & well presented;

3 Goddard’s Emandem Black Pudding.

OD (4,1)

1 Kenny’s Ch Millingford Northern Rock. CC; 2 Boyce’s Trakside By The Loch, two differing in type. 1 is a lower to ground black moving so well. OK in head & expression.

2 is a light brindle shown in great coat & really well presented. Not quite as good in shoulder which was more evident on the move as just lacked a bit more forward reach.

MPB (3)

1 Bradley & Herd’s Brueik Ingeborg, very full of herself at 7 months, long clean feminine head, neat ears, good front, good neck & shoulder, well ribbed, moved OK on this ground;

2 Milburn-Gates’ Liroda Earth Angel, another baby & also full of herself, no mistaking her sex, very feminine, good neck & topline. Not quite as compact as 1 but promising;

3 Milburn-Gates’ Liroda Skye Dancer.

PB (3)

1 Boyce’s Trakside Tiffin, won this class fairly easily but having said that she is top size for me & hopefully has stopped growing. Short bodied, good neck & shoulder, so well presented;

2 Marshall’s Benartybrae Charleston, r/br, very immature. Not as short coupled as 1 but very much a baby & with maturity she can shorten. Super texture coat & looked good mover in profile;

3 Walker’s Beaureveur Fyglia.

JB (4,1)

1 Dixon’s Barnwin Morning Bliss at Chatterdale, black. Wouldn’t want her any bigger. Good reach of neck, long clean head, in good coat & condition;

2 Rowland’s Rabbonai Cupcake, black, in very short coat but having said that in full coat will look so much better. Nice head & neat ears;

3 Morris’ Scotchmore Going Dutch.

YB (3,1)

1 Beckton’s Kentwella Karamel by Glengracie, wheaten of good size, short & cobby, good topline. Could carry her tail a bit higher on the move but she has a decent head & expression, uses her ears all the time;

2 Corney’s Rilynson Moonlight Isle, black, at that in between stage. Not quite as short as 1 but has nice head. Will be better in another 6 months.

PGB (7,2)

1 Greenwood’s Petmon Miss Tiggywinkle, black, the most lovely head & ears. To be picky eyes a bit round but she is well balanced. Good coat & condition, never stopped showing;

2 Corney’s Rilynson Sunshine Princess, I was really taken with this bitch & she so nearly won the class. Possibly a bit shorter coupled but not as feminine in head as I like. Beautifully presented & well handled;

3 Milburn-Gates’ Sweetgarret Girl Nellie with Liroda.

LB (6,2)

1 Chapman’s Berrybreeze Supertramp, super moving black, holds her outline both standing & moving, shown in super coat & condition, short & cobby, excellent topline & tailset;

2 S Girl Nellie with L, moved up here on her overall balance & soundness. Still young & with maturity will be a good bitch;

3 Shaw’s Terratom Latte.

OB (5,2)

1 Mahmoudi’s Brio Inquizitive, CC & BOB;

2 Plane’s Stuane Loch Flora at Mayrlea. RCC. Two lovely bitches & it wasn’t easy to split them. They moved so well, both in good coat & trim, both really well handled. 1 is maybe a touch shorter but my final decision was on heads where I felt the winner was just that cleaner on backskull;

3 Greenwood’s Petmon Miss Tiggywinkle.
